Chapter 2

-3rd POV-

Mikado: " Are you ready kid? Don't worry, I know how to handle my power well so you don't get hurt too much."

Mikado said as he placed his hands on his waist, waiting for Gojo who's preparing his sword and pointed it at him.

" I asked for a hand to hand combat, why would you give me a wooden sword!" He complained.

Gojo requested for the improvement of his hand to hand combat skills, because even if a monster as large as a Giant is involved, he can just use one of his three Curse Techniques when he obtains his Falna.

Mikado: " I know what I said, but use that wooden sword for now at least. You gotta have something to soften the hit."

Gojo: " I don't need that! Are you just planning on making me your sandbag?!"

Mikado: " ... most of it."

Mikado disappeared from where he stands. Gojo activates his [Six Eyes] and follows his movements. Mikado moves on his right side in a flash and aims his hand to Gojo, but rather than fist, he just wants to flick him.

But a flick from a High Level 1 is like having received a serious punch from a Middleweight champion. Gojo uses the wooden sword and places it on his side to block the attack.

Mikado was impressed and didn't continue the attack, but rather, he lowered himself and swiped Gojo's feet off the ground.

While Gojo can see his moves, even if it's too fast, his body can't move as fast as his perception. Failing to jump, he got swiped off the ground and hit the floor with his butt.

Mikado isn't done with it, after swiping Gojo off the ground, he aims to flick him again, but Gojo has his wooden sword ready.

While sitting on the ground, Gojo used the impact of the flick to get himself propelled back. Successfully standing up again.

' It's heavy, his moves are so fast that my body can't keep up. But I can use this wooden sword as a shield if he wants to flick me again. Now I've got to find a way to counter attack.'

Gojo used the broad side of the sword and covered his body, using his [Six Eyes]. He's going to try and anticipate Mikado's next move.

Mikado: " Why are you using the blunt side of the sword? You're not planning to just defend from my attacks right?"

' Damn right.'

Mikado quickly flashed in front of Gojo and kicked the ground. Losing his balance, Gojo tried to back away, but Mikado spun his body to deliver a fast kick to Gojo.

Gojo used his sword to block it again. Receiving the full impact of Mikado's kick. The wooden sword shattered without much of a fight.

Mikado: " Ah, shoot. I destroyed it."

But as he was about to stop, his eyes widened. Gojo, instead of blasting backwards again, he is under his leg.

Mikado: ' I see. Rather than fully protecting himself, he loosened his grip to the sword and practically let it go before my kick hit. Using the chance, he got under me in an instant. Clever.'

But Mikado is still amazed by Gojo's quick thinking. Gojo spun his body as well and kicked Mikado's right leg.

Gojo: " What the hell did I expect? Hurt you?"

Mikado: " Best I feel is a tickle."

Gojo is just a 7 years old child. While his vision and perception is being enhanced by his [Six Eyes], his strength is from a normal kid against a High Level 1.

Mikado: " But still. The execution of that kick is very good. I thought you didn't learn anything."

Gojo: " Well, watching and observing is still part of learning. I just copied what I saw."

Mikado: " Well, let's see if you can copy this next!"

Mikado retracted his kick and swung his leg to kick Gojo again, which successfully landed. Knocking him back. Gojo felt the numbness on his arms as his body ached badly.

' Shit! A flick is sure to be troublesome, but for a fast kick?! I'm a kid, you idiot!'

Mikado: " Oi! If ya think that it was harsh of me to use that kind of strength. Then stop being a kid and try to dodge it!"

' That's the problem, I can't dodge it!'

Mikado: " We still have an hour. Let's continue shall we?"

Mikado said as she prepared another attack.

Gojo: " Damn it!"

Gojo is laying down on the ground, beaten up from Mikado's relentless attacks. He deactivated his [Six Eyes], the dazzling light fading away.

Mikado: " Well. I have a healing potion on me, it was given to every guard in the Amaterasu Familia, it works well, so use it."

He slowly lifts Gojo's head and slowly makes him drink the potion. Gojo gulps down the potion and feels the warm aura as his wounds heals.

Gojo: " Damn. If you're that strong, you must be ready to level up."

Mikado: " Probably. But I haven't yet gotten the chance to. But still, if we are talking about monsters. It would be you, of course."

Gojo is confused.

Mikado: " The way you learn, Gojo, It's fast, too fast. You managed to immediately learn my attack patterns and get under them too. You counter attack each time an opportunity presents itself. Like as if your eyes just learn everything it sees, imprint it in your mind and body itself."

' Damn. Not only my [Six Eyes] though, it is also thanks to my Passive Growth skill.'

Mikado sighed.

Mikado: " If you were to receive a Falna. I'm sure you will be much more powerful faster than anyone could expect."

Gojo: " You are overestimating me too much. It's not that I'm like a monster of talent or anything."

' which I am.'

Mikado: " Well... To be honest, I don't know. It's been an hour already, so I'll be going. My Captain will give me an earful if I'm late.

Gojo: " Oh... Ne, will you recommend me to the Amaterasu Familia?"

Mikado: " Absolutely not!"

' Guess so.'

Gojo: " But you just said, if I receive my Falna faster, I can become powerful."

Mikado: " Gojo, any other god's Falna is okay, rather than Amaterasu-sama. Whatever you do, never get involved with them."

Mikado stared intensely into Gojo's blue eyes, full of seriousness and worries. Gojo knows himself about the east. He watched quite a bit of Danmachi in his past-life, even played Memoria-freeze to kill time.

The Far East is a country surrounded by water and has four different seasons. It is a large nation type Familia ruled by the Royal Court, with Amaterasu being the main God.

The noble families, such as the Sanjou and Gojou families, serve the Royal Court and there are eight of them. There used to be nine noble families until the Rokujou were destroyed in a political strife. The Sanjou are in charge of divine affairs related to Amaterasu while the Gojou are in charge of dark jobs.

There are many groups throughout the country that are not part of the Amaterasu Familia and do not obey. The further from the capital, the more similar to the Sengoku period it is, due to the people and monsters. It is a country wrought with wars, diseases and monsters, which causes several children to be orphans.

He knows it so well. That's why...

???: " Then why discourage him, Mikado? If the kid wants to join us, he is free to do so. Goddess Amaterasu does like kids after all."

Mikado and Gojo immediately turned their heads in the direction where the voice came from. Coming out of the shadows of the trees, a man with blue hair, wearing a white and blue haori, armed with the sheathed dark gold katana.

Mikado: " V-Vice Captain Taiji! W-What brings you here?"

Mikado quickly kneeled and lowered his head. The man before him is the Vice Captain of the Amaterasu Familia. The pressure he was emitting was really hostile, maybe because of what Mikado said.

Taiji: " I just want to check up on you, Mikado. It's been three days since you went and used your vacation days. I thought of coming to get you myself. Until I found you training with this fascinating child. But there's always unpleasant things that appear when one is having too much fun."

Hinting on what Mikado said about Amaterasu. Taiji slowly reaches for his weapon, until.

Gojo: " Uhm. You're Mikado-san's Vice Captain? Of the Amaterasu Familia?"

Taiji: " Yeah. Gojouno Taiji, Vice Captain of the Amaterasu Familia, and a Level 3."

' Shit. A level 3?! Mikado-san's state rift now, winning is not even on the table. What do I do?'

Gojo thinks of a plan on how to help Mikado's situation. But as he is running his thoughts.

Taiji: " You have great potential, kid. You know, I'm the type of person who quite often forgets things. You get me?"

' W-What?'

Gojo: " What do you mean?"

Taiji: " I sometimes forget important things, when something much more fun happens you know."

Taiji gave his last hint. Gojo gets it so well, that's why he is hesitating.

' I see... In exchange for him to forget Mikado-san's rudeness. He wants me to join the Familia... Right'

Mikado: " G-Gojo..."

Taiji: " So?"

' Well, I'm gonna need some Falna, this is much later than what I've planned, but it's nothing. I'm gonna need the advantages I can get.'

Gojo: " Then... Can we move into the Capital as well? I wanna be with my sister Mirai after all.
