Chapter 4

Seth POV

The next morning.

After a refreshing sleep, I went downstairs for breakfast. I just sat at the table and felt that something was missing, but I couldn't remember it for a while. I picked up my breakfast and prepared to eat.

"Bang", my father slapped the table, "put it down, where's your mate?"

I was stunned.

Now that I'm reminded, I remember why I felt so comfortable this morning. It's missing someone. I almost forgot I had a mate.

Ruby was on the side now and said grimly, "She seems to have run away from home yesterday."

"What? What's going on?" My father's voice rose at once, then he glared at me. "Did you say something?"

"She left on her own." I answered casually.

'Nonsense! As soon as my father hit the table, the atmosphere around me suddenly became much colder.When I looked up, he gave me a somewhat angry order, "Now, go immediately to get Lorena back, and clean up your own mess."

"Get our mate back." Adam echoed.

My face was livid. I stood up and gritted my teeth. "I'm going to work."

Spirit Tech.

It's the largest conglomerate in the kingdom, and it's one of the top companies in the world.

What only company insiders know is that five or six years ago, Spirit Tech was a midsize company with a few hundred people.

Until the Alpha King's successor, Seth Rodriguez, namely I, after taking over, the highly effective reform, aggressive expansion, let the Spirit Tech giant leap into here.

The news of my murder some time ago brought the company to a low ebb. Today, I can't wait to return to the company, and I can't let my hard work go to waste.

Lorena left yesterday. I'm not going to look for her.

The people on the inside seem to have prepared a grand welcome for me. I had barely stepped into the office when the crowd greeted me before the champagne could be opened. I took the flowers and threw them directly into the trash can, and my sharp eyes swept the people in front of me one by one.

"The group's stock has been falling for a month, and you are still in the mood to do this."

The crowd was terrified.

"Gather the top brass. Have a meeting."

After I explained every word, I stepped into the elevator. Personally, I actually enjoy this clean style of doing things. My company is another hunting ground for me, where I can also release my wild.

Next, I skipped lunch and had a three-hour meeting. When we get back to the office, Wesley cautiously leans over to me and says, "Seth, Ms. Barlow is here and waiting for you inside."

I was a little surprised. I didn't think she'd show up again. I hurried over and pushed the door open with my arm.

Standing at the French window, Nola whirled around, her eyes red, "Seth, I never thought I'd see you again!" With that, she couldn't wait to throw herself into my arms.

As I approached, my reflexive body flashed to the left. I don't know why, when I saw Nola again, my heart didn't feel the same intimacy as before, and I didn't feel any emotion when I saw her crying.

Nola stopped and looked back at me, tears now flowing hard.

"Seth, do you hate me? I just recently found out about that day. My parents kept it from me."

"As you know, I was on tour abroad at that time, and I was so busy every day that I couldn't get through to you by phone. I was so worried that you wouldn't want me."

"Even, I wish the whole team would come back to you, but I am the core of the team, I can't leave."

As she spoke, Nola became more and more sad and desperate. Tears streamed down her face. My tight looks softened a little. "Don't cry." I drew two pieces of paper and passed them.

Nola didn't answer, just threw her head back and cried on her tearful little face. "Seth, if I had known about your accident, I would have done everything to come back and finish the ceremony with you." But why do I come back and you don't belong to me anymore?"

"We never really belonged to you! " Adam was a little smug as he started a long string of coherent sentences, something he rarely does. Still, seeing Nola like this makes me feel bad. After all, it wasn't our intention to split up. I think I still have some feelings for her.

"Nola, when I'm healed, I'll reject the girl, and then we'll be together again."

"What? No!" As I finished speaking, Adam's angry voice rang out near me.

Nola grabbed me tightly by the sleeve, "Seth, I only love you, and I can never love anyone else in this life." Leave the woman, will you?"

I almost agree. It's been a long time, and I still love Nola, and I miss her. But Adam got even angrier. He began to fret. "No! Lorena! Mate! Not this woman!"

Nola is crying and trying to hold me back. "No, Seth, I'm not leaving you. I'd rather die without you."

His anger made me inevitably agitated. "Go find our mate! Go and find her!" Adam's tone gradually became more forceful.

Wesley walks in and glances at me and then at Nola's face, clearly reflecting what's going on. I pulled away from Nola, who was still pestering me, in sync with my mind and body, and almost immediately rushed out. I was still trying to control Adam, but his patience was clearly reaching its peak, and Nola's pestering was making his mood worse.

"Let's go find her!" Without giving me any time to hesitate, Adam has taken control. I took the form of a werewolf and ran out.
