chapter 18: Soap making

"Come Shila, we still have lot do , I hope this much can be sufficient for other things." Vikram call for his maid and started walking towards his next destination, limestone reserves and oil.

Limestone is main substance in making sodium carbonate, which will be useful for creating Iye i.e. sodium hydroxide. For next 4-5 hours Vikram and shila search for all the items necessary to make soap.

From one of the merchant, he find out substance similar to limestone is situated near Abacus forest, he was overjoyed to find out this information. He contacted their family servant from his father's shop and told them to get limestone there and transport it back to his courtyard.

Lastly he went to search for vegetable oil or animal fats. He picked up Rose oil and Lavender oil. It cost him 2 gold coin for 5 kg each. This oil's are too costly in this time as method of extracting them is not easy.

His last 50 silver coin, he spent on constructing mould for soap and also ordered small wooden boxes for packing.

He was having heart attack by losing this much gold in only single day, 'Its so expensive out here, I need to get rich quickly as soon as possible'.

He has collected everything he needed for making soap, With determined look he walk towards blacksmith shop.

"Ohh! You come at right time, my friend. I just finish your all equipment." With satisfied smile blacksmith welcome Vikram.

"Okay, let go take a look then."

As he walked towards equipment he really was surprise, the equipment made by Ruth is really up to the standards. Nearly similar to modern day world.

By looking at Ruth, Vikram thought, 'He is very talented at this kind of work, I should give him more such work in future and rope him to my ship'

"You have done excellent job uncle Ruth, I am very satisfied with this. I will let you when I get my hand on steel." He nodded.

"Okay, do come by again, happy to be of help"

He took equipment with him outside, call for carriage and headed towards their home.

"Young master, if you don't mind me asking , What are this strange things ? and what about buying so much oil? Also the stone your are talking about" shila follow his lord for whole day, she filled with curiosity, unable to hold it in, She finally ask.

" It's a secret for now, You will know result tomorrow." He answered.

It was already dark when he finally reached home. Today he has worked a lot, he thought, 'It's so hectic to do all the task by myself, I need to find some capable subordinates.'

After having their dinner both of them went to bed together.

Today Vikram was very excited, finally he can make his first invention into reality. That is he can make soap and clean his body properly.

After finishing his daily exercises, he went excitedly towards his inner courtyard.

There was all the equipment lined up sequence. He first started by heating water, condensing vapour into other jar. After collecting enough distilled water he added natural white salt to it and started stirring the solution. After that he pour that salt water on limestone powder and ash mixture. Now This liquid can act like Iye solution.

Now next, time to heat oil. Rubbing his hand, he pour Rose oil in container and started heating it. After heating for about an hour, he took oil in one pan and pour Iye solution slowly on heated oil. Slowly oil starts getting in solid form. After it look completely solid. He pour all plastic state solution in moulds, let it dry for some hours. In just single batch he has created nearly 100 soap.

This was his first experiment with the help of system's Information, he finally feels relieved after success. Now let's try the effect.I will gift this to my cute maid for first try, lets see how it goes.
