Little Trick

Now that she was still alive, it seems like the person behind the shadow wants to employ the same trick as before.

"Wha--what are you talking about? You've gone crazy!" Maisie was beginning to get terrify from Xue Yiran cold gaze. "Xue Haoran, come and help me. Your sister has gone crazy." She called to Xue Haoran, who was standing at the side.

Instead of coming forward, Xue Haoran hurriedly hide behind the wall, trying to conceal his figure from her view. He didn't like this person. From what he could remember, this aunty was like those evil villains in those fairytale books. Both her and his sister use to bully him a lot back then. However his sister had already become as sweet as angel, but there was no way he would like Maisie.

Maisie was surprised by Xue Haoran actions. 'This evil boy.'

"Why? Surprised that he didn't come to your aid. Didn't you use to bully him back then." Xue Yiran had also thought Xue Haoran would intercede but she hadn't expected him to hide. It seems like he was truly afraid of Maisie. With what Maisie had done to him, it's no wonder the little fella would be scared of her.

"What are you saying? If you hadn't permit me, do you think I'll have the chance to bully him. Didn't you also hate him? Why are you now acting like you're some kind of savior. This is crazy. Hey!" Maisie suddenly finds a courage within her. "If you hadn't let me step on your brother, I wouldn't have. Who are you to talk to me about manners."

"I don't think I mentioned anything about manners in my previous sentence. But since you're still able to ramble off your mouth, I guess you might not be feeling as much pain as I thought." Xue Yiran took hold of Maisie's other hand and twisted it backward.

"Ahh!!"

Afraid that her brutal action would make Xue Haoran frighten, Xue Yiran let go of Maisie and warned, "Get the hell out of here. If you ever come here again, I promise it won't be just your arms but your life instead."

"You are crazy. You are all crazy." Maisie scampered towards the door. But before she could leave, she heard a voice that sent shivers down her spine once again.

"Lest I forgot." Xue Yiran spoke unhurriedly. "Tell the person behind you that I'm going to find them soon."

After the last word fell on her ears, Maisie swiftly opened the door and rushed out of the place as if there was some sort of demon chasing after her.

She immediately heads over to the hospital to treat her arms. But when she reached there, she was told that there was nothing wrong with her arms. They were perfectly fine. Even the place Xue Yiran had gripped was fine. There was no signs of bruise or redness on the place she had been gripped.

Yet, Maisie was in pain. The pain was excruciating. But no matter what the doctors did, they couldn't diagnose what was causing her pain. And from her expression, they knew she wasn't faking it either.

If it was a commoner, they would have sent them back home. But since Maisie was the daughter of an influential man, she could only be administered to a VIP ward room to receive treatment.

"It's Xue Yiran. She's the one. She's the one who hurt me." The doctors and nurses didn't bother on listening to her claim and thought she might be spitting some nonsense. Maisie's parents were very busy person and had only showed up once to the hospital. And that was just to pay her medical bills.

Knowing that the doctors had no solution to her illness, Maisie was feeling aggrieved. With the excruciating pain, she managed to tap her light brain and dialed a certain person number.

"What is it?" The thick voice of a male came from the receiving end.

"It's about Xue Yiran. I'm afraid she already knows about it."

There was a still silent before a busy tone came from the device. The other person had already hung up.

Maisie didn't return again after Xue Yiran warning. Xue Yiran was able to have a moment of peacefulness at home. Xue Haoran mood seems to be off a few days after Maisie arrival. But being a kid, he soon forgets his worries and revert back to his cheerful self.

Uncle Mike seems to be very busy as he didn't have time to spend with them like before. Thankfully, Mike was a capable person or Xue Yiran would have been worried about how she would take care of the company affairs. She just wants to laze around without worries.

Xue Yiran was in the kitchen preparing dinner. Sizzling sounds came from the meat she was grilling.

[Host, you should let me do the cooking.] The robot 'Bai' entered the kitchen.

"It's fine. This is something I can do on my own." Xue Yiran rejected Susu's help and continued grilling the meat.

The robot could only leave and tended to other house matters.

"Have all the security been replaced?"

[Yes host. The door code and other house security password has been changed. Except you, Xue Haoran and Uncle Mike. None other than you three will be able to enter this house.]

"Have you carried out an investigation on Maisie?"

[Yes. There's no one suspicious around her. She's still in the hospital receiving treatment. Her illness is quite strange. She kept saying her arms were painful but the Doctor couldn't find anything wrong with her. Did you do something host?] Susu had also tried to find out what was wrong by using his scanning ability but he couldn't detect anything abnormal. That was strange.

"He-he." Xue Yiran gave a light chuckle. "Just a little trick of mine."

Maisie arms were feeling painful, that was because she had indeed done something to it. While she was twisting Maisie's arms back then, Xue Yiran had infused energy into her arms. This kind of energy existed in the body but however invisible.

Although this energy looks harmless but once infused with abilities, it's the same as a lethal weapon. This was something Xue Yiran had discovered during the apocalypse. All body has its energy. But it depends on the individual to discover it.

While a normal person in this world has no abilities except by contracting with a beast, in their body contains brimming energy. This energy is what consist of the mental and combat strength.

If Xue Yiran had only infused the energy into Maisie's arms, her body would have automatically absorbed the energy. However, Xue Yiran had added something into it. That was her wind ability.

Since wind is translucent, it cannot be seen by any instrument. With the energy inside Maisie's arms being absorbed, all that is left is the wind ability situated under her joint. The friction of the sharp wind crapping against her bone is what cause Maisie to feel immense pain in her arms.

Unless Maisie has a contract beast with the wind ability, her arms would continue aching till eternity. Although, Xue Yiran never cares about avenging the death of the previous owner, this was the only way she could help the original owner since her death could be indirectly related to Maisie.
