Insights Beyond the Familiar

There are some things that are better left unknown until the time is right. The time is not right until death, which, in my opinion, makes death something to look forward to, not dread.                                ☯︎ "Do you believe in the afterlife?" 'This is the end of the road of life for me, huh?' 'WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED NOW!!!' "Miss Zannah, I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but you're dead." "One way or another we all have baggage. But this is what I want to do. I will become a Reaper because I wanted to help. If there is a way I can still help, despite being dead, well that's the way I'll choose to go."                                ☯︎ Miftahul Zannah, who goes by the nickname Mifa, once lived a fairly ordinary life with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with them and participating in normal high school activities. However, one day while running a seemingly mundane errand to purchase school supplies, Mifa got into a car accident that completely altered her life. Now her life is not normal anymore. As a result of the accident, Mifa woke up with a newfound ability known as Spirit Sight. This ability allowed her to see haunted spirits and curses, which had previously been invisible to her. Prior to the accident, Mifa had only interacted with the supernatural world through viewing horror shows as entertainment. However, now she found herself as the sole person able to discern the existence of spirits and curses. While at first, Mifa attempted to deny the presence of these beings altogether, she soon realized that they posed a significant threat to those around her. Despite her fear, she made a bold decision to devote herself to doing what she could to protect others from these malevolent entities. Even though she could see them, she ignored them at all costs to protect her sanity and for others' safety. Despite this commitment, Mifa still found herself struggling with the knowledge of the supernatural events and beings that were occurring. Enduring significant amounts of suffering in her own life as a result of her new-found ability, Mifa continued to push forward with courage and positivity. As the reader follows Mifa on her journey, they will witness her bravery and determination in standing up to these nefarious beings. They will be exposed to Mifa's ability to persevere in the face of fear and adversity as she navigates the challenges that arise. Overall, Mifa's story will satisfy readers seeking a unique and thrilling tale of the supernatural world. [A/N: You can start reading it from Chapter 13, the main plot begins from there]

Chapter : Curse, Crush And Love? Part-2

                      𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 at night

The female Reaper hummed the song called 'Isabella's Lullaby' from The Promised Neverland, she really liked the song since it was very calming. It honestly made the dark forest peaceful. She was on watch just to make sure there was no curse in sight, the next night it will be Alastair's turn to patrol so the both of them basically take turns to be fair.

                               𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙁𝙤𝙪𝙧

"HELLO MOTHERFUCKER," the female Reaper yelled as she attempted to slice the curse spirit's head with her blood katana but it sadly missed. "BITCH STOP MOVIN," she screeched in annoyance. Alastair looked at her disappointed, she continued to lunge and attack at the curse spirit for a few minutes before successfully cutting its head.

"Damn! This curse slaying is so fun! It's basically murdering people but legal!" the female Reaper happily yelled.

"What the fuck." That was all the dark-haired boy said.

"What?" she asked innocently as if she didn't just say anything messed up. "Why would you even say that?" He asked, completely done with her shit.

"Say what?" she asked once again pretending to be an innocent girl which she is not. 'the audacity-' the tired boy thought then sighed, he dragged her away to find a safe place.

"E"

"What?"

"Have you ever felt sad or lonely? Have I felt two feet tall? Have you ever thought 'man if only...I was anybody else at all!' They like to kick you~ when times get rough you give your all!~but that's not enough!"

Alastair watched his friend sing under the tree. To be honest despite him not knowing what the hell she is saying, he still finds it amusing to watch her.

"Kill yourself~~ it will only take a minute~~ You'll be happy that you did it! just go over to your oven~ AND SHOVE YOUR HEAD IN IT~~" Alastair chuckled and continued watching.

The dark-haired boy watched her sleeping form. The female Reaper looked so beautiful when she was calm- but she always looked beautiful in his eyes and he will never admit it out loud.

Alastair observed her face, she looked absolutely tired, her tired eyes had heavy and dark bags under them and her hair was hella disheveled. She looked sad and tired. Alastair always noticed how her posture worsens day by day and it didn't fail to concern and sadden the black-haired boy many times. And all Alastair can do is pray that her health would be fine. He was kind of surprised that she still looked pretty in such a state. He sighed and continued to guard her.

The female Reaper hurriedly ran towards the exit as fast as she could while she dragged Alastair with her. The raven head can't really keep up with her since she wants to get the hell out of there.

                                      ☯︎

" Al~as~tair," She hummed, squirming about in his arms pulling him out of his train of memories.

He looks at her drunk self confused about how she got herself drunk. Then he checked her soda bottle to find out it has alcohol in the Coca-Cola bottle.

He let out a deep breath. What will he do with her? Shaking his head.

The female Reaper calls out to him again. "Yes, princess?" Alastair smiled, looking down at her with a hint of defeat tainting his light blue gaze.

"You don't have to be so sad, Alas. I can kiss you if you want~!" she giggled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "It's the least I can do to thank you!"

"For what?" Alastair asked, looking down at her in confusion.

"You saved me, silly!"

Alastair furrowed his brow. "Are you talking about the Bhangarh Fort incident? I didn't do much-"

"No, you saved my life! I wouldn't have wanted to fight to stay alive back then you came. So... you saved me, Alastair!"

Alastair's eyes glistened as he looked down at her cheery drunk demeanor. "■□■..."

"Do you want a thank you kiss, Alas~?" she asked innocently looking up at the dark-haired male.

"I'll wait on it," Alastair smiled. "Maybe when you're feeling better tomorrow, I'll take it if it's still being offered."

He then princess carries her off the couch and starts walking toward her bedroom.

The female Reaper furrowed her brow. "Alastair, I'm feeling perfectly noooormal!"

Alastair raised his eyebrow. "Is that so? It's too late anyways, we just made it back to your room."

"Awww," she grumbled in disappointment, "I thought you were fun, Alastairrrrrrr~,"

"Now now," Alastair smiled, "I'll have fun with you again after you get some proper rest. You've done a lot today." Alastair slid open her bedroom door with his foot, inviting himself in with her still in his arms. He gently seated her on the side of her bed, her legs dangling off.

"I'll help with what I can, but your clothes will be up to you to change," Alastair smiled, brushing her hair away from her face.

He carefully took off her shoes, placing them in the front of her room.

"Alastair~," she hummed out loud. "If I'm your princess, does that make you my prince?"

"If you bless me with the honour, I will gladly be your prince," he smiled. letting out his feelings toward her because he knew she wouldn't remember anything after she woke up tomorrow.

"Do you use moisturizer before bed, ■□■?"

"Mhm," she mutters, swinging her feet back and forth.

Alastair looks for her moisturizer and brings it over. He puts some on his hands and slowly massages it into her face.

"Alastairrrrr," she hummed, "Can you do my moisturizer every night? It feels nicer when you do it!"

"If you allow it, I will," Alastair chuckled as he finished with the moisturizer. "Now... your clothes. If you want I can grab you some pajamas, but you'll have to chang-"

She moved his hands down to the corners of her shirt. "Alastair, can you help me change?"

Alastair's cheeks get rosy. "■□■, it's better if you-"

"It's no big deal, Alas~!" the female Reaper hummed drunkenly.

"I'll wait outside in the hall, ok? When you're done, let me know." Alastair stated as he left her alone in her room.

"You're no fun, Alastair," she huffed, clumsily putting on her pajamas. After a moment of struggling to get them on, she eventually found some success. "Ready!"

Alastair slowly entered her room to see her in her polka-dotted pajamas. "Ah, how cute~," he hummed to himself leaning on the doorframe. "Are you all ready to get to bed, ■□■?"

"Alastair~," she whined. "Can you tuck me in?"

Alastair raised his eyebrow. "For real?"

"Am I not allowed to want to be tucked in?" she frowned. "I guess I won't slee-"

Alastair let out a sigh. "Fine, I'll tuck you in."

The female Reaper excitedly plopped herself on her bed, digging herself into the covers. Alastair approached her bedside, with a stupid smile on his face. "You really want to be tucked in?"

As soon as he reached the bedside, two arms reached up and grabbed him. "Ah-!"

She pulled Alastair down into bed next to her, giggling. "Alas... I don't want you to leave me..."

"■□■ you need to slee-"

"Alastair... please hold me," she looks up at the boy with puppy dog eyes. "I'm cold... pleaseee~!"

Alastair sighed in defeat, wrapping his arms around her. When he does so, she snuggles closer to him, positioning herself as a ball on his chest.

"Alas... can we just... stay like this for a little while?" she muttered, her cheerful drunk demeanor fading as drowsiness overtook her. "You're so... comfy..."

"I'll stay with you, I promise," Alastair smiled, looking down at her curled-up form.

She was slowly drifting to sleep. "Alastair, you're one of my first real bonds, I cherish you, and I... I love..."

Alastair felt her warm breaths press against his chest, followed by a light snore. He ran his fingers through her hair, pressing a small kiss on her forehead.

"Sleep tight." Alastair hummed, as he slowly unravelled himself from the female Reaper to get up. "I have a feeling you won't appreciate me here when you wake up, but...," he tucked the covers around her body gently. "I'll always be there for my sleeping beauty, that's a promise."
