A Twist Of Fate

At the police Department

Keiran Simmons, the young lad whom was apprehended by the police; was accompanied to the payphone booth by one of the police staff members. He reached for his pockets, in doing so he pulled a coin and inserted it inside the coin box. There after he grabbed the handle and place the cap next to his ear while he dialled a number. He then waited for the user to pick up the call, as soon as the unknown user picked up the call he lowered his projection, "Taylor! Taylor!"

"Yeah who is this?" Inquired Taylor as he gently shoved the edges of a glass between his lips. He took a sip from the finest whiskey while Keiran murmered, "It's Keiran man...Keiran Simmons!" "Keiran the what fuck man! Where have you been. The boss is been looking for you!" Keiran placed the his fore finger and thumb under his brows, "Yeah I know... Look we have a problem!" "What problem? Why are speaking so low?" Keiran let out a sigh and closed his eyes. He then opened them and continued. "That's the thing dude! Me and boys never escaped from the cops. They immobilised our vehicle and now we are in prison. We need your help!" Taylor smacked his forehead and pulled the skin from each side of his forehead towards the centre. "Jesus! Didn't I tell everyone to take different routes?" Keiran exhaled heavily and continued, "I know man. But they shot our wheels and eventually caught up to us. I need a lawyer man or at least bail me out." Taylor thought long and hard about this, "Hold on for a sec... Let me put you on hold."

He then looked foward and placed the glass on the table. "Boss!" Brandon looked up, he was just typing through the laptop. "What's going on? Im in the middle of something!" He said with a deep garbled voice. He stretched his hand towards him, the very same hand that clutched unto the cellphone. "Its from Keiran. His team failed to lose to cops of their tails. And now they are prison." Brandon grabbed the device and placed it on his ear. "Keiran what the hell is going? Do you realise the depth of your deed?!" "I know boss but this is an emergency. I need your help at least bail me out or send a lawyer to speak on my behalf. Luitenant Smith is on my case!" Brandon growled and furrowed hia eyebrows. "God dammit Keiran! I promise you this, if Luitenant Smith gets some kind of info on me. You will live to the next day do you hear me!" He took a deep gulp, afterward giving a response with a blend of stuttering. "I...I...I ..pro..promise you. I didn't say a word. I will never betray you!" Brandon sighed once more. "I'll see what I can do." "Really! Thanks boss..." While he continued Brandon dropped the call and handed the device back to Taylor. Taylor crossed his legs and took another sip. "What should we do about our little friend Keiran. Should we send him a lawyer as soon as possible and apparently his group were responsible for a large number of cop casualties during the car chase. Therefore Keiran's services are no longer required and I want him and his group assissinated tonight! Are we clear on that!" Taylor nodded. "Good!"

Later that night

Catherine and her Sister briefly arrived at the hospital. As soon as she parked her car, they both jolted with undeniable speed towards the reception. Catherine panted, finding difficultly with breathing, she placed her wrist on the surface of the desk while the admin pressed on a certain number of keys, while hypnotised by the aura glistening from the screen of the laptop "Good evening mam. We would like to see doctor Hawkins." While comforted by the trans of hypnosis, she did not engage contact with her guests. "uh-huh. Do you have an important with Mr Hawkins?" Catherine tapped her head and clenched her fist, "No! He called us. He said that he had to adress us about something important!" She then turned away from the screen and starred at them blankly. She replied a unmotivated voice projection. "I'm sorry mam. I cannot allow you to pass through unless you have booked an appointment with." Her eyebrows and upper lip pulled up while her nose wrinkled. "Listen! Please! For the love of God. It is very important that you let us go. We need to know the condition of our mother." Catherine locked her hands together as if she were about to pray while her face morphed red and her eyes accostumed with a dew of sodium chloride. The admin rolled her eyes. A few minutes later They knocked on his office, waiting for a confirmation he finally responded. "Come in." She opened the door with haste and hurried to his desk while Christina closed the door from behind. Doctor Hawkins was seated behind his desk, and going through his laptop. "Have a seat ," he suggested. They both took a seat and awaited for a reply, he closed the laptop and took of his glasses. He placed his glasses aside and rubbed his eyes. "I'm sorry for having you to come to my office at the last minute. I have found out the initial cost of the surgery and have decided to tell you at face value and the reason behind the cost." The sisters glanced at one another as their eyes widened while their lips stretched with tension. "Not only did you mother suffer from a Massive stroke attack, she also faulted to critical brain damage." The pulse of their heart beats increased exponentially while their brows stiffened. "Reason being is that she faulted against a Hemorrhagic stroke attack." "But doctor didn't you say that she faulted against a massive stroke attack? I do not understand what is going on?" Inquired Christina. Doctor Hawkins continued. "Yes I understand your frustrations Miss Alan. Please calm down, allow me to explain a bit further. You see a Hemorrhagic stroke false under the tier of a massive stroke attack. The are 2 kinds of massive stroke. There is a Hemorrhagic stroke and a Ischemic stroke. An ischemic stroke is caused by blockage in an artery. This later results to the death of brain cells. Meanwhile a Hemorrhagic stroke is when the arteries burst resulting to a leakage of blood, which therefore puts a lot of pressure brain cells and damages them. Not mention the fact the much needed blood supply will not reach the brain tissue because of a lack of oxygen." They both took a deep pause, unable to give off any response and were shrowded with grief. Catherine took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She opened them and stuttered "...How.. how...how... much ...wi...ll the surgery cost?" He took a deep breath and exhaled. "Because of the damage done to the brain...the surgery will cost will cost 77 000 USD dollars." Catherine rubbed her face while her sister broke to tears.
