Chapter 22: Hear Me Out
Liam finished telling the crew where to start and what they would be doing.
Everyone went to their designated spots besides Autumn.
“Liam, can I talk to you?” she asked, trailing behind him.
“Do you have a question about work?”
“No, I want to-“
Liam cut her off. “Then we don’t need to talk.”
He didn’t turn around. He couldn’t look at her right now.
Liam heard her walk back to the area where they were breaking ground.
Autumn had tried calling him Sunday night, but he never answered. And now, the last thing he wanted to talk about at work was her and Jackson while working on Jackson’s property.
Liam wasn’t sure how he was going to handle Jackson when he showed up later that day, or whenever he decided to, but he’d deal with that when he had to.
He hated that he was being unprofessional but he hadn’t expected it to sting the way it had when he saw those two together yesterday.
