Chapter 3 Part 7

He then called Rick and Lux over, "Hey, you two, you want to buy some equipment?" Rick clenched his fists tight, and rubbed it with his left hand, "I'm good, I don't use weapon." Maybe he just uses his fists huh, Codarius thought. Lux then added, "I think I'm fine with equipment, get me a small blade or something, it might come in handy." Codarius then asked for a medium sized sword, a small blade, and some medical equipment. He handed the coins, and the counter guy gave him the equipment. He then said a simple good luck, and Codarius gave a wave away.

Lux then asked, "Can you use a sword? You do know that their pretty heavy right?" Codarius then got the sword, and tried to lift it up. He was able to lift it up, but his legs certainly didn't seem to be able to keep balance. Lux analyzed Codarius' balancing, and then explained, "It looks like your legs aren't strong enough to keep your balance while holding that." Codarius saw that coming. His arm strength was good enough to hold the medium sized sword, but his leg strength was abysmal. Codarius then asked anxiously, "Do you think I'll be able to use a sword?" Lux then looked with his hands on his chin.

He reluctantly replied, "Well, since it's not like you're completely too weak to use that thing, maybe…" It wasn't very convincing, but Codarius did have to try. He then put the sword back into its sheath, and held it by the sheath, putting his bag on the cross guard. He then gave Lux the small knife he asked for. Lux thanked Codarius, and then put the small knife on his baldric, next to his rapier he carried. Codarius wasn't used to the feeling of being near weapons, as he had lived a life completely irrelevant and unrelated to any kind of fighting.

He still felt worried, and was clueless on where to go, but knew he had to try everything he could. He then asked, "Well, you two ready to go?" Lux and Rick gave a nod. Lux, though he wasn't entirely open to be following Codarius, he looked at Codarius and Rick, and smiled. 'This sounds pretty fun and interesting,' he thought to himself. This was the beginning of an adventure of 3 odd people...

Lux: "Why am I considered odd..?"
