Chapter 5: The Bonds of Training

Days turned into a blur as Kai immersed himself in rigorous training within the confines of the forest. His determination to become stronger had been rekindled by his encounter with Hana. The memory of her laughter and the joy she had brought to his life spurred him on. He could only get stronger from here and figure the true potential to his abilities and every day Hana would never miss a day she stayed by Kai's side and little did she know that is what kept him going.

With each day that passed, Kai honed his abilities with relentless focus. His control over fire and electricity had reached new heights, the flames dancing at his command, and the sparks of electricity crackling in his palms. His once-hidden devil power began to show itself as well, a force that was both mysterious and powerful. With Fire being the first ability he controlled he focused on it more to improve its damage and speed. With electricity he learned to stun which he used to stun prey for him and hana and increase his physical speed making it easy to swing his katana at faster than before.

Hana watched in awe as Kai pushed himself to the limits, his fiery red hair illuminated by the flames he controlled. She admired his unwavering dedication and longed to learn the secrets of his abilities. She began to wonder what it would be like if she would learn to fight like Kai and what if she could become strong like him.

One evening, as Kai finished his training for the day, Hana approached him with a sense of anticipation in her eyes. "Kai, can you teach me to do... magic?" she asked, her words tinged with both curiosity and eagerness.

Kai couldn't help but smile at her innocent misconception. "They're not magic, Hana. We call them abilities. But yes, I can teach you."

Hana's eyes shone with excitement, and she clapped her hands together. "That's so cool! What can I learn?"

Kai knelt beside her and began to explain the basics. "We'll start with trying to figure out what ability you will awaken. It could be an earth base, air base, water base or even a fire base like me." Hana looks at him and yells water, Kai replies " Water is a versatile element, and it can be used for defense and healing. But remember, it's not just about controlling the element; it's about understanding it."

He then extended his hand, and grabbed hers,he began to tell Hana to focus on the palm of her hands and think about water shimmering around her. "Watch closely, and think clearly Hana."

Hana's eyes were fixed on the water, and she observed with rapt attention as she started to manipulate it, shaping it into different forms. She created delicate streams of water that flowed through the air, crafting intricate patterns that seemed to dance with life. But then she lost control and the water splashed over them both, leaving them both laughing soaked in water.

Hana demonstration continued, showcasing the water's soothing qualities as she conjured a sphere and held it aloft. "Water can heal wounds, cleanse impurities, and provide solace to the weary." Kai stated to Hana still teaching her things about her abilities and noticing she was a fast learner, maybe even faster than he was at her age.

With a gentle motion, Hana directed the water sphere towards Kai, who held out his hand in awe. The cool, refreshing sensation of the water sent a shiver of delight through him knowing that someone under his watch could become strong like him.

Kai smiled warmly, seeing the wonder in Hana's eyes. "Now, it's your turn to train hard with me everyday. Feel the water, understand its essence, and try to create a bond with the water you control."

Hana nodded, her small face determined. She extended her hand and closed her eyes in concentration. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then, with a sense of accomplishment, she managed to conjure a medium size sphere of water. Kai laughs and calls her a show off and all Hana can do is smile back at him.

Kai clapped his hands in encouragement. "Great job, Hana! You're a natural."

Over the next few days, Hana's training continued. She learned to manipulate water with increasing precision, forming simple shapes and streams. Her enthusiasm was unwavering, and she practiced tirelessly, eager to master her newfound abilities.

Kai marveled at Hana's progress. Her innate talent and unwavering determination were a testament to her potential. Every day for months the two trained and became stronger and stronger Kai focusing on putting his fire abilities in his blades making them more powerful than ever. And Hana learned how to harden her water a little to make ice blades to copy her mentor's flame blades. Day by day month by month the two stood next to each other and pushed one another to their limits.
