Chapter 236: Loki Arrives on the Island

The power of the great Void God, Kassadin, is a topic of speculation. Those on the island didn't know the full extent of his strength but felt secure under his watchful gaze.

However, when it came to influence, the Void Religion was still relatively new, while the name of Odin, the Allfather, had echoed throughout the galaxy for ages, revered by many. Asgard's might was universally acknowledged, and few species dared to stir trouble in the Nine Realms.

Yet, Asgard's strength had little to do with the Void Religion. Their main operations were centered around Xandar and nearby planets, far from Asgard, with no prior grudges or conflicts.

Previously, when they had assisted Tony Stark, it could be considered a favor to Asgard, which further diminished any potential enmity between the two factions.

But if Loki were to join the Void, it could shift to an adversarial relationship, which was not worth the risk. If Thor were king and Odin had perished, perhaps things could be different, considering their previous help to Thor.

However, with Odin still alive, the Void Religion could not openly recruit Asgardians in his presence. That was why Leicy was so confident that Kassadin would likely not allow Loki to join.

"Even if it's unlikely, he's still a guest; we should at least check it out," Reno noted, understanding Leicy's concerns but recognizing the significance of the moment.

"Shouldn't we inform Sonia about this?" Kyle asked, puzzled but already standing up, showing interest in meeting Loki.

"Given Sonia's abilities, she likely already knows about Loki's arrival," Leicy replied. "Let's go see him and gauge Sonia's reaction. If she's interested, she'll make herself known. If not, her absence will serve as a clear rejection."

"Good point," Kyle nodded, realizing his question was somewhat foolish.

Meanwhile, in the summit villa, Harvey observed Reno and the others preparing to meet Loki. He had no intention of allowing Loki to join the Void.

Setting aside Loki's dubious character, joining the Void could easily lead him down a path of insatiable desire, stirring chaos that might eventually require Harvey to clean up the mess.

More importantly, although Odin was nearing death, he was still alive. If Odin learned that Loki had pledged himself to the Void Religion, he would view it as an attempt to lure Loki away. This would undoubtedly lead to trouble for the Void.

Thus, Harvey was adamant that Loki would not be welcomed into their ranks.

As for Thor, once Odin was gone, there might be opportunities to align with him. However, Harvey wouldn't pressure Thor to join, as Thor had responsibilities far beyond those of Tony or Steve.

Thor's allegiance would impact not just him but also the many Asgardians relying on him. If Thor joined the Void, it could lead to more demands, potentially compelling all of Asgard to follow suit—a scenario that Harvey wanted to avoid.

As the sun dipped towards dusk, Loki stood at the harbor, gazing at the tranquil island shimmering in the evening light, lost in thought.

Upon returning to Asgard, he faced his father's fury, though Thor had intervened to lessen his punishment to a mere month of confinement.

Once released, Loki began to investigate Reno and the others, quickly discovering the Void Religion.

Despite its newness, Loki recognized the strength of the Void God, Kassadin, after reviewing his exploits. Though the Void Religion operated discreetly, its power was undeniable.

Loki was almost certain that Kassadin was, in fact, Harvey Amberlock.

Eager for the blessings of the Void God, Loki wasted no time in making his way to the island, hoping to secure his place among them.

However, before he could delve deeper into the situation, he was confronted.

"Loki, what brings you here?" Reno appeared before him, directly questioning him.

"Reno, you showed up just in time! I have some inquiries to make."

Loki's initial uncertainty vanished, replaced by a friendly smile as Reno appeared unexpectedly.

"If you're just here to enjoy yourself, we welcome you. But if you're seeking the blessings of the great Void God, Kassadin, you might leave disappointed," Reno warned, having learned of Loki's nature from Tony.

Although Loki had aided them in the conflict on Blue Star, he had also been a troublemaker, switching allegiances when it suited him.

"Is it because of Odin?" Loki retorted, raising an eyebrow.

"Indeed. You are the Allfather's son," Kyle interjected, landing dramatically.

"Is that a problem? I've never been fond of that old man," Loki replied, smirking.
