India: I became the First PM of India

India made many bad decisions in the early years of Independence. Elections Prelude

(28th January 1950)

The election commission has declared the schedule for India's first free elections.

Every person above the age of 18 will be voting for three things.

1. The MP of their Lok Sabha constituency.

2. The MLA of their Vidhan Sabha constituency/President of SuperCity Assembly

3. The Prime Minister of the country.

Currently, there are 29 states, 16 Union Territories, 18 SuperCities, forming 516 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Due to the ongoing violence and separatism, all parties and organisations that use the name of religion were banned. For example, Hindu Mahasabha, Muslim League, All India Muslim Party, etc.

According to the constitution, religion is a personal thing, so there can't be any party using the name of religion. Also, if a religious party gets power, it would most likely only care about the religion it follows, and cause problems to others.

Even though democracy is rule of majority, it doesn't mean suppressing the voice of minority.

Also, voting in the name of religion, caste, etc. will violate Code of Conduct, and the person can be arrested for inciting violence as well depending on what they say during their promotion.

There are three major parties in the election.

1) BJS(Bhartiya Janta Sangathan)

2) INC(Indian National Congress)

3) RJS(Rashtriya Janta Sangh)

BJS is the biggest party right now, with the sitting PM belonging to the party. It has around 300,000 members at various levels. BJS voted Satyankar as its PM candidate, running from the Kolkata constituency.

INC is the second biggest party, very close to BJS right now, with around 280,000 members at various levels. INC voted Jawaharlal Nehru as its PM candidate, running from Phulpur

RJS is the third biggest party, with around 270,000 members at various levels. Most of the members of Hindu Mahasabha joined the new party since religious parties were banned. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is voted as its PM candidate from Pune.

Code of Conduct has been placed from today, until the election results come out. The campaigning can be done from 30th January to 1st April. Then the elections will be from 5th April to 21st April in 6 stages.

The election results will be declared on 25th April.
