Chapter 10

{9 days later}

As I was packing up my temporary camp I made for myself on the 18th floor I reminisced on the last week and change. I've been hard at work tackling the dungeon. I made it to the end of the Large Tree Labarynth, I never went further, but it proved to be a good source of excelia since I also found out that I was immune to most ailments innately probably to the Incubus skills.

When It comes to spells I was able to produce a smaller AOE spell with sufficient power, a more spammable Fire Storm, I named it Fire Wave. Other than that due to my training, I was able to vastly improve the amount of time it takes for me to make my flames stronger, helping me overall.

One time during my stay on the 18th floor I met Finn while he was doing an independent dungeon dive, We exchanged a few words and went our separate ways. I believe this led to Riveria and sometimes Ais checking up on me from time to time.

Moving on to the Goddesses Loki, Hestia and Freya. Starting with Loki, I haven't had many chances to see and talk with her, but she has been making the most of them, not too long ago I woke up to her in her underwear sleeping next to me. I'm not dumb, I know she has the hots for me, but I gotta wait until Freya and her familia don't stand a chance.

The shorter goddess on the other hand has become more possessive of me when Syr makes visits showcasing her feelings. Interestingly Syr doesn't seem to be showing anything other than friendliness to both of us, maybe some blushing but that's not definitive evidence. Contrary to Freya who seems to have ordered to have eyes on me most of the time, 90% of the time I'm in Orario someone is watching me

I strapped my supplies around my chest and made my way back to the surface excited to see how much I grew in the last couple of days.

After these days It was easy to go back and forth from the 18th floor to the surface and I was there in record time.

I took a deep breath in savouring the fresh air of the surface, there is truly nothing like it.

This high was quickly diminished by the feeling of being watched that I hadn't been able to shake, I decided to go and see if Hestia was at her booth since she wasn't recruiting.

I did find the short stack looking a bit out of it, but nonetheless, at the booth, I decided to approach.

"Hey, Hestia! I'm back!" I announced to her, and her out-of-it look seemed to go away as she heard my voice.

"Cain! I'm glad you're back" she responds.

"Have you seen Syr, I need to talk to her." Hestia's face soured at my question but shook her head.

"Hmm? Cain? What do you want to talk about?" I looked behind me only to spot Syr standing there. I guess she was eagerly waiting for my return.

"Come with me Syr, this needs to stay private. I'll be right back Hestia." I say as I take Syr's hand and start running with her in my hand to a private location. I decided on the northeastern side of the wall.

"We need to talk" I start the conversation off.

"Apparently so" Syr says awkwardly.

"Can you like keep the stalking to just the dungeon entrance please?" I ask her kindly. She keeps up her act.

"I don't know what you are talking about, I haven't been stalking you." Syr replies

"But, your Familia has. Look I don't mind if you want to keep an eye on me, just please give me some privacy." I say

"Interesting, when did you find out, well I guess that's not important right now." Her previous act dropped.

"What would I get out of this then?" Syr turned Freya asked me.

"Though it's more of a request for you to fulfill, this would place you firmly in my good graces, maybe later down the line I might return the favour" I say hoping my words have the effect I desire.

It seems to work as her face seems lost in thought drooling at something I can't perceive yet know vaguely. It's definitely me doing something sexual.

"Consider it done." Freya said, I nodded and returned to the Jagamarukun booth.

I see Hestia visibly twiddling her thumbs like a bored child.

"Hey Hestia, everything's sorted with Syr now." I say

"What was that even about!" Hestia yells

"I just asked her for a favour, which she seemed happy to help with" I surmised, Hestia did look a bit skeptical due to the lack of information but let it drop.

"If it makes you feel better I'll walk you home tonight." I offered to her, but she seemed to jump at the opportunity and immediately started to close up shop.

When she was done she jumped onto my side and latched on like a koala. This wasn't the first time I walked her home, I started after noticing how much she disliked Me and Syr being together.

We were about halfway through and Hestia started humming to herself as we made our way to her house, well her abandoned church that she called home.

"Cain!" A familiar voice says from behind me.I turn to look at the Familia captain Finn.

"Loki is on the cusp of a breakdown we need you ASAP!" He said seriously I looked regretfully at Hestia, she understood the situation and let go slowly, I ran off to the Twilight Mansion with Finn.

We were silent the entire way as we sped through the city as fast as we could. We made it in time, I don't hear crying yet.

"Like last time?" I ask Finn, and he nods. The first time I stayed in the dungeon for a couple of days, I stayed in for a couple more hours thinking nothing of it, but when I got near the Twilight Mansion all I could hear was crying, it was coming from Loki crying in my room from missing me so much.

Rushing to my room I was able to get there before anything bad happened, and opened the door, I saw Loki with tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes, but upon seeing me she ran then jumped into my chest and hugged me so thigh, Heracles might've been jealous of her strength.

I just silently hugged her back letting her process what she is feeling.

She eventually pushed off of me and to my surprise went in for a peck on my cheek though she had to jump to accomplish it.

I took a couple more steps in and closed the door behind me.

"I need to talk to you about that." I told Loki, her eyes glazed over for a bit and asked me in desperation.

"Do you have someone else, am I in the way?" Loki asked a bit to seriously for her.

"Nonono, just the topic of love, you love me right?" Loki shyly nodded at my words. I sigh.

"I'm sorry. I in Freya's radar, and not in a casual way, she is pulling every stop to get me with her" I tell her straight out. She seemed to understand a part of what I was getting at.

"Soo? What about us?" She asked hopeful.

"Nothing huge until I'm strong enough, we should be safe until then. We have a sort of truce." I said, Loki looked relieved. The night ended with her taking my status, it was amazing to see how much I have improved.
