Earth's Native Monsters

Since the Octopus Monster Industries was established, Russell's contact with General Ross had become less frequent. Unless there were new orders from the military, they hardly ever communicated.

General Ross, despite giving up on pursuing the Hulk, had actually improved his position within the military thanks to the serum developed in the Octopus Monster Laboratory. If Russell remembered correctly, General Ross had used the serum to create a super-soldier unit with over a hundred members.

After waiting for a few seconds, the call was answered.

"Do you need something?" General Ross's voice came from the other end of the line.

"Have you heard of the Monarch Organization?" Russell asked directly.

Although the Monarch Organization wasn't a military entity, Russell was certain that it had been secretly established by President Truman in 1946. Most of the Monarch Organization's funding and equipment came from the United States government.

As a high-ranking military officer, General Ross must have heard of the Monarch Organization.

"Of course, it's a secret organization that investigates unconfirmed Earth creatures. It's been around for many years, but it has always operated low-key, and not many people know the specifics of their activities," General Ross replied after a brief silence, sharing what he knew.

"That was before. I just received information that the Monarch Organization has caused a commotion at the abandoned nuclear power plant in Japan. I assume the military has already received the news."

Russell spoke calmly.

"What do you want to do?" General Ross suddenly had an uneasy feeling.

"I want to meet with the military personnel in charge of this matter. If it's not convenient for a face-to-face meeting, you can relay a message for me. Just tell them that the Justice League is willing to assist in handling this unexpected event."

Russell wasn't interested in MUTO. What he was interested in was the arrival of Godzilla, who would likely be attracted by MUTO.

Although he didn't know why this universe had monsters like Godzilla and MUTO, since they were here, he didn't mind taking some action to benefit himself and give the Justice League a chance to gain worldwide recognition.

"I can try to contact them, but they might not accept your proposal," General Ross said slowly after thinking for a few seconds.

"No problem. As long as you can let them know that the Justice League is willing to provide assistance," Russell replied.

General Ross was indeed one of the military's top brass, but there were others like him within the military hierarchy. While they all belonged to the same military family, they rarely interfered in each other's areas of authority. They each had their own responsibilities and usually didn't inquire about each other's jurisdiction unless necessary. It wasn't a good practice to meddle in other people's affairs, as it could easily lead to misunderstandings.

Therefore, unless it was necessary, the top military officers operated independently in their respective domains. Only when the Pentagon issued orders for joint operations would they come together.

After ending the call with General Ross, Kara approached Russell with a puzzled expression and asked, "Is something going on?"

"Take a look for yourself," Russell replied, projecting Natasha's email onto the holographic display.

Although Kara didn't know about MUTO and Godzilla, after reading Natasha's email, she too wore an incredulous expression.

"Is this for real?" Kara asked in disbelief.

"Of course it's real, or else why would I contact General Ross?" Russell said as he stood up, flexing his hands and then activating the Endosymbiotic Battle Armor using telepathic control.

"Where are you going?"

"Canada!"

With those words, the helmet of the Endosymbiotic Battle Armor sealed over his face. The next moment, Russell flew out of the office through the modified sensory skylight, like a silver-white missile, heading rapidly toward Canada.

Godzilla and MUTO, these Earth-native monsters, were about to make their debut in front of the world. Russell had been wondering how to make the appearance of the mountain-sized Grendel grand and spectacular. However, before he could come up with a plan, he stumbled upon information about the Monarch Organization and MUTO.

Canada.

An uninhabited island in the Arctic Archipelago.

Grendel, who was the size of a small mountain, lay bored on the ground, staring in the direction of New York City like a neglected pet. Russell had dispatched him here over a month ago.

Apart from the weekly flights of large transport planes that dropped a pile of chocolates for him, Grendel's most common activity was splitting into two or three second-generation Symbiote organisms and allowing them to possess whales to catch various types of seafood for him.

So boring!

As the self-proclaimed King of the first-generation Symbiotes, Grendel felt like an abandoned pet, left by Russell in the middle of nowhere.

Just as Grendel was considering whether to fly to the Arctic to pass the time, the communicator he had carefully stored inside him suddenly started ringing.

Hearing the communicator's ringtone, Grendel didn't waste a second. He immediately used his tentacles to retrieve it from inside his body.

"Head south; I'm coming to find you," Russell's voice came through the communicator.

"Alright, Your Majesty! Your most loyal servant, Grendel, will come immediately!" Grendel quickly responded.

Russell had already seen Grendel by the time Grendel spotted him. When Russell was about to say something to him, Grendel excitedly circled him a few times before hovering in front of him, eagerly waiting.

"Your Majesty, Grendel is here as per your command!" Grendel quickly stated.

Russell assessed Grendel for a moment before speaking slowly, "Go to the island below; I have some questions to ask you."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"
