Chapter 28: Forget about it!

I had visited my family lawyer and discussed everything, I decided to Will Hunter's properties to the poor child, Brian. It was pointless fighting over a Will that I could actually buy off; I had my money, coupled with several fashion and Anti-trafficking Agencies remunerations, Jamal's wealth was nothing compared to everything I owed, he made me richer than I had ever imagined. Now, Brian was used as bait in this situation and is very much vulnerable to just anything coming his way. If really this was Hunter's child, I delighted in supporting and sponsoring as well.

Jeremy arrived at about 09.20pm, Bella was overwhelmed with the surprise I presented, she confessed how deeply impressed and important she felt at the moment. We waited for his arrival before having dinner finally. Lola was glued to Jordan minute by minute, within several intervals. Lola's phone buzzed, I assumed it was Lionel Wilbur, the new guy on board and I liked his countenance and Courtesy. I smiled at her as she smiled back taking Jordan as well, Lola wouldn't get enough of this charming gift. Then I turned to this handsome young man with silky black that was wavy and his light complexioned skin and of course, he was tall and slim, Jeremy.

  "So Jeremy? Tell me about school, how did you manage to come this far. I could tell you're doing more than I had done during my college days, I was a criminal...." I teased but I meant it, they laughed in accordance.

  "C'mon Ma'am...." He called respectively

  "Call me Aunt, c'mon. Y'all wouldn't stop this Ma'am thing though!" Then they laughed again

  "Aunt Danni, its been crazy and tough yet exciting. I made a couple of friends in no time, trust me I don't dull" he added with high spirits, I liked his confidence

  "That's it, Bro! Alongside, do not forget your essence though! C'mon honey, let's go for a ride, bundle up!" I coaxed Jeremy

  "Madam, that's not necessary...." Bella tried to decline, she felt it was too much to do

  "Its Jeremy not you!" I teased Bella, we laughed

Jeremy took his leather jacket while i took the car keys from Larry. I informed Lola about it and she nodded positively not to interrupt her romantic moment with Lionel and Jordan who enjoyed their company as  he gave a million giggles.

I drove us to our regular bar that Jamal and I loved. We took a few drinks, really light ones; all I wanted was for him to feel at home, safe and comfortable to tell me just anything. I wanted to build a relationship that would be of good help and I was certain Jamal would love this idea as well.

  "C'mon Jeremy, tell me about your girl I know you got a girl so just spill it" I teased

He grinned in shyness and slight discomfort but his confidence overrode.

  "If you insist!"

  "I insist" I smiled

  "I got a really cute girl, she's really pretty to me, she's Eliza, she's English." He took out his phone sliding to his gallery Then he tapped on one amongst many, then handed  it to me.

I must confess, Eliza was indeed pretty and young as he was and really eloquent, she looked rich. I handed his phone over to him

  "This chic is lit, bro! How did y'all meet?"

  "Lecture hall. Her notes fell on me, at first I was mad at her then I figured she wouldn't do that on purpose, I was embedded in something I couldn't describe, she's decent!"

  "Good thing you got a girl just like you. You know I really wished I had a someone to look out for me during college. I was the opposite of what I am right now...." I confessed heartily

  "...Was that really bad?" He asked for clarity

  "Yes Jerry! Really bad. I did some pretty awful things growing up because I had no family, I just learned to live by on my own..."

  "And Aunt Lola?" He asked again finding the conversation intriguing 

  "With Aunt Lola and my husband, Jamal. We were a team, criminal minded..." I said as well laughed

  "That's whole lot of story! Aunt Danni?" He called softly as his brows tilted, I understood he had a question to ask me

  "Yeah?" I answered

  "Why did you get so interested in my family? I mean, my mother and I are just so lucky to have you around. I never imagined that I'd study in one of the best universities, I'm grateful." I could see his eyes almost welling up in tears

I patted him on the shoulder

  "I don't wanna get emotional in here, we're at the bar!" I teased with a smile

  "I just can't help it!" He laughed 

We clinked our glasses and gulped. I cleared my throat and continued

  "So? Could you be honest with me though? I need you to tell me all about your mother and father, could you?"

He sighed And turned away

  "Its fine if you don't want to talk about it, I'd wait until you're ready!" I said

  "...She caused it. She claimed it was love and she believed he'd change. They never got married anyway, I wished he died even before I was born..." Jeremy said in anger

  "Nah bro, then you wouldn't get to see me or have your mother and even Eliza. You've got a lot to live for not just die." I held his knuckles looking into his brown eyes and continued "Jeremy, promise me you'd be different. I'm doing all I can to get justice for you and your mother, I want to defend and support you like I should. Can you trust me?" I asked again

  "I do. All of this wouldn't have surfaced if she had listened to me, Aunt. I can't forgive her for that, she's responsible...." He began to flare as i interrupted

  "....and you are responsible for correcting those mistakes she made. You should man up and be the man she'd prefer. Give her a chance to prove herself, Jerry.....If you forgive your mother, I'd give you something you'd love and I bet you wouldn't want to say no to this!" I demanded

  "Don't use this against me, I'm angry. I'm mad at her not you...." He said 

  "No bro! You would say yes to this if you forgive her. I promise you'd love it!" I assured

  "Ok, what else? I'd do it for you...."

  "And her?"

. "And her too." He smiled

I felt good about it. We drove to a mall you shop a few things I know guys his age would love and for the fact that our music life coincided I couldn't love this kid less, I saw him like a baby brother and wanted him to be an elder brother to Jordan. We got home about 11:10pm, and there, Lola and Jordan slept off on the couch while Bella sat adjacent.

The next morning I prepared for work as Lola drove back home to get ready for an appointment to. She decided to stay focused on fashion, luckily for her, she worked for different brands and companies  so I guess she's was established leaving behind her accountancy life. Jeremy greeted me with a very overwhelming smile likewise Bella. First time in my life, I saw them hug each other; I was emotional and grateful that I started my day with something positive enough to call correct. Jeremy snuggled Jordan in his arms as they played with some toys while Bella followed me to the bedroom to get my purse then she blurted

  "Madam! I don't know what you did to my son but it worked and I'm thankful!" She nodded in accordance

  "Did I? We talked about his college and Matteo and nothing more. Don't you think he's responsible enough to be a man? He's almost 20, just months away!" I snapped

  "C'mon madam, I know you did something. Thank you, ma'am!" She hugged me before I could realize it then she continued. "You don't know how hard I've struggled to mend this relationship." 

  "Its ok, i did nothing though!" I walked out briskly with a smile then she followed with my purse and laptop.

We headed downstairs immediately then I Stopped at Jeremy's

  "Hey guys, Danni's off to work. Be good!" I snuggled Jordan's little nose as he chuckled. His bright eyes gave me a reason to fight harder, no matter what. I turned to Jeremy

    "Hey! You did well. Just wait for your gift ok? I promise you'd love it!" I said with my right hand on his arm. He hugged me immediately, I was speechless and dumbfounded by their actions.

  "Thank you! Uhm, I'd like to visit a few friends from day one. They've been buzzing my phone. They saw my Instagram...." He tried to explain rubbing his hair

  "Silly! Great, have fun but don't go over board ok? Tell Mom. Call me if you need something or you could ask Larry to drive you around! Love you!" I walked out hurriedly as they waved at me.

Few hours later,

Mandy came into my office without an appointment, i overheard the uproar between Mona, my Secretary and Mandy then I showed up.

  "What's going on here?" I asked

  "Sorry, Madam! She came without an appointment and I don't remember you mentioning someone like her.." Mona explained

  "I know her type, let her in for today." I said looking directly at Mandy who stood at the corner regardless with a faint smile.

We walked into my office then we sat on the couch.

  "I'm..." She began

  "...Why did you come?" I interrupted with a question

She cleared her throat and continued

  "I wanted to plead on behalf of my son, Brian,  Hunter's son."

  "Don't act funny, 'coz you wouldn't find me easy" I warned 

  "Seriously, I don't understand why its so difficult for you to solely sign off that shit. Like, do you even have a heart? I don't understand, Danni. Did you ever love Hunter, coz if you did then you'd do this for his son!" She blurted

I swallowed my anger, I really want to shoot her brain off. 

  "Mind your language, Mandy! Don't play with me....don't try it. And for the record, I don't believe your shit. You could maneuver the governors' wife but not Danielle Khaleefa. I have agreed to Will everything and more to Brian, but trust me you don't have access to it just yet!" I said

  "What do you mean I don't have access to it just yet? I'm his mother." She flared

  "That's the problem? You being his mother and Hunter not being his father. You see? I'd give you a week to confess to Carol that you've been hiding under the Snake's skin or I do it the hard way, darling!" I warned with a smirk then I sipped on coffee

  "What's that suppose to mean? You know nothing at all." She got defensive

  "Yes, that's the point. I know nothing but I would love to know nothing if you keep your side of the deal but if you don't let sleeping dogs lie peacefully then I'd just have to ride on you." I said again, I knew it angered her

  "Is that a threat?" She asked firmly

  "Whatever that suits your illusion then its acceptable. Now get out before I get cops to get some bracelets, want that?"

She looked at me with burning fury then she walked out immediately as I smiled.

Oh Danni, did you have to make her quiver? I asked myself and continued my work. I invited Omar immediately.
