As Kevan drove out of the parking space, he whispered, “Thank you, Scott, for being such an asshole. If it wasn’t for you, I’d never have met the man I intend to spend the rest of my life with. Your loss, my gain, so thank you.” 14
“Have you decided where we’re going?” Scott asked, coming into the library late Friday night. They had already made their foray to the city to feed, then Zoran had suggested Scott find something to entertain himself until Zoran had narrowed their choices for a new city to only three or four out of the dozens he and Scott had come up with.
Zoran looked up from the computer, sitting on the desk between two sets of bookshelves. He beckoned for Scott to join him before replying.
“To begin with, I think we should stay in the country rather than going abroad. There is still enough going on your life, without the added burden of learning a new language, and dealing with cultural differences.”
