Craig did the same, trying to come to terms with Kevan’s revelation. Not that it mattered one way or the other. I’m hardly in the market for someone new in my life. I’m still trying to get past Scott’s disappearance. Which isn’t going to happen until I know why he pulled such a despicable trick. He could have been honest with me, instead of acting like everything was great…until it wasn’t, as far as he was concerned.

“Hey.”

“Hmm?” Craig pushed his anger away as best he could.

“Stop thinking about him.”

“How did you know?”

Kevan almost smiled. “If your expression didn’t tell me, the tension rolling off you would have. You’re supposed to be relaxing, enjoying good food on a beautiful night, with a friend.”

Taking a deep breath, Craig nodded. “You’re right, and I am. Honest. What happened…happened. It’s over and I’m going to move on.”

“Good. So eat your pie then let’s take a walk to work off the ten thousand calories we just ate.”
