"Follow me." Xavier said. I followed him. We exited the bunker like room, and quickly entered the halls of the mansion once more. I had to give him credit, the man has great taste in design...

After a minute of walking. He pointed, "Here is your room..."

Already?

"Wait a second - You already have, my room? Hell, even my name is on it too?" I said a bit shocked, I looked at the old coot. Did he really gamble on me staying here in the first place? He's quite the planner. Still, he wouldn't be here if he wasnt...

'Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad about leaving him..." I thought.

"Now-Now, It was the most logical conclusion for someone such as yourself." He said, chuckling lightly at his own gesture. I knew that sentence had a deeper meaning. He must have did some background check too...

*Slight creak~*

Hearing a feint creaking sound, I dashed away instinctually, feeling my body moving on its own to what might, have been danger...

*Wood shattering!~*

I launched myself multiple meters away from where I was. As soon as I landed, I was ready for combat... However, I saw that the professor had a shocked look on his face, as well someone or rather something else just as shocked he was...

Now I was slightly perplexed. From what I could see, however this was had dark-blue hair, and a slightly lighter blue-skin to match, tail with a furry end, sharp ears and large canines, wearing average clothing. It was clear he was another mutant...

"Haha! Your really fast!" The figure shouted excitedly.

So not an enemy?...

I saw him suddenly disappear into a could of dark smoke. "The hell?' I thought, slightly alarmed, did he just, teleport?

*Tap!*

*tap!*

That feint presence again... Soon, I felt to taps on my shoulder. I instantly turned to see the same blue shaded person again, his smile just as evident, maybe even wider than before...

'Ok, he definitely teleported. Covering that distance instantly is insane, not even taskmaster is that fast.'

"Wait, Alex... He isn't of any danger. He's just a bit, playful." The professor said, his eyebrows raised for a moment to the figure behind me.

"Haha~ Sorry professor..." I heard him say, rubbing the back of his head. He turned into smoke once again. I quickly turned, only to see him beside Xavier.

"I'm sorry for the surprise, Alex... This is-" Xavier was interrupted.

"I'm Kurt! Kurt Wagner! Nice to meet you new guy!" The person said with excitement. He was oddly chippy?

Seeing that he was of no threat, Introduced myself too.

"My name is Alex Young, nice to meet you as well." I don't particularly hate his type, I would rather much deal with him than most other people...

"Yes, I'm glad you two are already well, acquainted... But Kurt, didn't I tell you to stop sneaking up on others like that? Look at what you caused." Xavier said with disappointment laced on his tongue, pointing down beside him to see quite a large hole in the floor. That was pretty bad...

"I'm sorry for that too... My body just, reacted."

I wasn't going to lie, the changes were very apparent. I was very much superhuman and seeing it and feeling it are much different. That jump earlier felt effortless to me too. The force behind it was no joke either...

"Hmm? Quite the reaction you have... But since Kurt is here, maybe you two can get more acquainted with each other while on the way to the others..." Professor Xavier suggested. I had no problem with that.

We continued walking, and after a few moments of silence...

"So, Alex... Mind if I asked you how you got here?" Kurt asked. He started strong, but I could tell he meant nothing behind it.

"Umm... I was saved by Ororo, I was injured, and she brought me here." I said. Not seeing an issue to tell him.

"Ororo? Of course I know her, she's one of the strongest people here! Heck, I even work with her too." Kurt said excitedly.

"Interesting..." I responded.

*Thump~*

'Huh?' I paused, hearing a weird sound thumping noise coming from afar...

As we continued to walk for a bit, Kurt responded.

"Indeed it is. Though, could I ask you another question?" He asked, I saw no problem with that.

"Shoot I guess." Not caring much...

"Well, you said you were injured, right? So, what made you injured?" He asked. This guy really likes asking terrible questions.

"...I did something very stupid, yet not stupid at the same time... Let's just leave it at that." I said, not really wanting to talk about Taskmaster at all. I had a feeling that would bring some trouble for me.

But before he could answer...

"Gentlemen, we've arrived." Professor Xavier said. I stared at yet another large metallic door once more.

*THUMP!*

'So this is where that sound was coming from?...'

I saw Professor Xavier approaching the heavy metal door, his hand sliding over the control panel. With a soft hum, the door slid open, revealing the bustling noise I heard earlier...

Inside, I saw persons moving with intense activity. I recognized Ororo, commanded the room's center, while she was conjuring controlled winds that swirled around her with an air of elegance.

However there were a lot more. Another person new to me was a large figure, he was well over 6 feet tall. He wore a visor, soon he fired a concentrated blast at his targets. He was good. Those things were moving very quickly, yet he has the time to accurately destroy them...

I observed another close by, something else towering but despite its bulk half man half beast it looked like, I saw it leap gracefully between suspended platforms, showing rather surprising agility. It's strength was nothing to scoff at either

Looking to the right end of the room, I saw a red-head, or brunette staying motionless. Maybe she was in deep concentration, however, I saw object moving around her in a controlled manner. A telekinetic perhaps? Still, her way of manipulating so many things at once was quite impressive.

I don't think that would be something easy...

And there, at the other edge of the room, I saw someone who I was acquainted with before, but that was a, strong word... It was Logan... He swung fists and claws wildly, with ferocity and relentlessness, as wild as he looked, I could tell that there was a method to his madness.

'He could hold his own.' I noted.

I soon heard the sound of metal against metal echoed as what must be his adamantium claws clashed with the training dummies. Those things looked sharp, incredibly so...

However, the group paused briefly as if they felt our presence. Quickly, they acknowledged their mentor or leader's arrival with nods, and at me, with focused glances...

'Way to make things a little awkward...' I quipped.

"Everyone!" Xavier called.

Me on the other hand, I found it interesting he would show me the cream of the crop so early, it must be the lack of mutants in the mansion. From what I could tell s far from my little walk, there weren't much of them here. I counted exactly 58. There could be more...

Breaking out of my thoughts, everyone else stopped their training. As the robots deactivated...

"Sorry for interrupting your training everyone, but we have someone new joining us." Xavier said.

"His name is Alex Young." he began, turning towards me.

"Allow me to introduce you to the group. This is Storm as you may know already as Ororo, our aerial support, with a heart as fierce as her powers." Storm offered a warm smile and a wave in greeting.

"Next, we have Cyclops—Scott Summers—the strategist and leader of the team," Xavier continued, gesturing towards Cyclops, who offered a nod, his visor hiding his eyes.

"Beast, Hank McCoy—a scientist, and our agile powerhouse." Xavier motioned towards the blue, furry figure. Beast gave a friendly wave, a twinkle in his eye. A gentle giant? not going to lie, that's oddly adorable.

"This, is Nightcrawler as you know also, and his Kurt Wagner—a teleporting acrobat with a heart of gold." Xavier introduced him with a charming grin. Nightcrawler offered a bow in greeting.

"Nice to introduce myself to you again, Alex." He gestured. The guy was pure, enough said there.

"And, this is Jean Grey—our telepathy and telekinetic wielder." Xavier nodded toward Jean, who smiled warmly, acknowledging the introduction. She was quite beautiful as well...

Now that I think of it, all of the women here are somewhat good looking... A little Weird...

"And last but certainly not least, Logan—also known as Wolverine," Xavier gestured toward Logan, who simply offered a brief nod, his demeanor reflecting his aloofness. I could tell he was already not too pleased with me...

"With their introduction out of the way, this is the team called X-Men." Xavier said, smiling proudly.

Still, each member had their own unique charm to them, it still feels surreal talking to these people... Plus, when Xavier introduced me to each member, I even felt an odd sense of welcome among these them...

'I can see why most would stay, it won't get much better than this...' I thought to myself.

However...

"It's nice to get introduced an' all, but what can you do?" Logan quipped. I saw the beast soon after face palming. For some strange reason, I feel that he had the most sound mind here...

"Logan!" I saw Jean intervene. That was nice of her. I was aware of how Logan's personality was, somewhat. Well, of how bad it could be...

"What? I was a little curious." He responded back, trying to defend himself. This was a little funny to see. Maybe he didn't dislike me after all.

"It's fine miss Jean... In essence, I'm just pretty strong and fast, that's all, Oh! And apparently, I can heal decently fast too." I quipped.

"Interesting... "The beast said. His voice sounded dignified and gentle. Like those typical fantasy nobleman. I could get used to hearing his voice, it was pretty soothing.

"Well, welcome to the training room." I saw Scott walk up to me and extended his hand and said. Seeing the gesture, I returned it, quickly shaking his hand.

"Firm grip you got there." He said.

"Thanks, you too. "I could tell he was pretty strong. However, I knew I was far stronger... Instincts maybe? At least in terms of our physicality.

However, I wanted to do something else.

"Since I'm already here, could I give this place a go?" I asked, a little excited.

Everyone turned to look at me...

'Did I say something wrong?...'

I would be spending 99% of my time here anyway, and getting in some training done now wouldn't be so bad. It was part why I stayed in the first place...

"Ahh, sure. You can, but what would you like to use? Our combat training mode the ne you just saw, or our fitness mode where you train your body?" Scott asked.

Knowing the names, the mode I wanted to choose was self explanatory. But the explanation was nice...

I smiled innocently, saying, "I'd like to try the fitness mode please." It's good to not waste time. I'd be here for only a month, tops...
