Leaving the hospital after two weeks and a half felt surreal. I could walk without wincing now, my stitches had dissolved, and the doctor assured me that I was fully healed. But emotionally, I was still shattered. The memory of being stabbed haunted me, replaying in my mind over and over.

As Michael wheeled me to the exit, my relief at leaving was overshadowed by a deep sense of dread. The thought of returning to my apartment terrified me. It wasn't just the scene of the crime; it felt like the place was tainted. What if the man came back? Should I really be leaving here without making preparations for a safe place to stay?
