Writer's point of view…..
Lucas was not hoping to bump into Jenny and her kids. Being in town with his family, he had decided to take his daughter shopping like he had promised her earlier with his wife. His eight year old son, Mavin refused to go with them so they left him behind.
Lucas knew she has kids but was never aware that they are so grown. He got all he needed to know about her excluding the man in Jenny's life. He did not want to know about the man so he told his private investigator to conceal that information from him.
Seeing her at the mall again today brought back memories. He tried as much as possible to mask his feelings with the blank expression he had all through but deep down his soul, he was boiling with anger by the fact that she is doing so well without him in her life.
He had planned a life with Jenny, he had pictured a happy life with her but now she is happily married with kids and he is stuck with his pompous wife.
He presents a happy life to people outside but his home is not peaceful, not that his wife is a bad person or she is not being supportive, it's just that he can't let go of his feelings for Jenny. And because of that, he kept having issues with his wife. Lucas feels Ella is not the one for him yet he got married to her. He had expected a reaction from Jenny when she saw him with another woman but no, it was like she was happy for him and she still went ahead to plan get together for the two families.
Watching her walk away from him depressed him so much but he can't do anything, he might be angry with her but he will never hurt her so he would have to leave with the decision he made and that's sticking with his family and leaving White Hills as soon as possible.
"Darling"
The calm voice of his wife brought him out of his thoughts.
"Shall we?"
She asked when she saw she had gained his attention. He nodded and they proceeded to shop for their girl.
Ella was not a fool not to notice all that happened but she chose to act as if she did not see or notice anything. It's not the fault of the other lady that her husband has not stopped loving her.
Seeing the lady her husband has always talked about for the first time did not sit well with her and that's why she had acted the way she did, only for the lady to present grown up kids to her. She did not know she was married and she found her as a threat but now Ella knows better. All she has to do now is to let her husband realize that she is the one he married and if possible take his mind off the Jenny girl. It's not going to be easy but she is equal to the task. Another woman will not occupy her husband's heart while she is still married to him.
With that resolved in her heart, she smiled heartily to herself.
Zain's point of view…..
Claire stood in front of me looking like a lost puppy. I was sitting on my bed with a deep frown on my face and the frown has to be there for her to understand me at the moment.
I was mad at her for leaving her school on her own. I went to her school to pick her up and I did not find her, when I asked I was told she left. She has done this several times and I am fed up with it. I had told her the danger of her wandering off on her own severally but she would not listen.
I love her so much and I don't want anything to happen to her. She is daring me to employ a standby driver for her.
"I don't know what your excuses are this time around but if you dare wander off on your own again, I will be forced to employ your own personal driver for you"
She raised her eyebrows at my last sentence but I did not care that it starred a reaction from her.
I never deprived her of her freedom and I don't intend but if it happens again,I will have to do that to keep her safe. The world is really not safe for a kid like her.
"But you don't have to"
She whined and I ignored her.
"I heard you will be going to white Hills to visit granny, have a nice weekend with them. You can leave now"
I dismissed her and before she left, despite her not being happy with me, she still gave me a peck on the cheeks and every anger I had against her disappeared.
