Halloween!
However, in Western countries, there are many different stories and beliefs about Halloween.
But all these legends share one common point: whenever Halloween arrives, it is considered the time of year when the most negative energy accumulates.
On this day, the gates of hell open.
Evil spirits and demons who have died but cannot find release appear in the human world on this special day.
They harm the living, seize the bodies of the living, and are reborn.
So, on this day, everyone dresses up as ghosts and monsters to avoid being detected by these evil spirits.
By the looks of it, there are only three days left until Halloween.
Rod wasn't sure if these legends were true, but during this unusual period, there was a noticeable change in the haunted villa.
It was hard not to think about it.
If the sudden surge in the evil spirits' power inside the villa was indeed related to Halloween, then it could be expected that on the actual day of Halloween, the evil energy within the entire villa would rise to an unprecedented level.
Therefore, he needed to exorcise all the evil spirits before that day arrived.
Even though the power of the evil spirits would increase as Halloween approached, their essence would remain the same.
The feedback he received from the sacrifices would not increase simply because the spirits grew stronger.
It's like when he sacrifices a regular person, he might gain a 1% increase in strength.
If that person took some drug that temporarily enhanced their abilities, their combat power would soar.
However, once the drug's effect wore off, they would return to being an ordinary person.
Sacrificing them in this situation would only yield the feedback of a normal person.
Unless the effects of the drug were permanent and boosted their power permanently.
So, when it comes to evil spirits around Halloween, the same logic applies.
He needed to exorcise them as much as possible before their powers peaked.
Otherwise, when Halloween actually arrived, dealing with these evil spirits would not be as simple as it was now.
More work, without any additional reward.
He wasn't one to do such foolish things.
Whoosh!
While lost in thought, a cold aura rapidly approached.
Rod raised an eyebrow, his eyes taking on a deep, dark hue.
In an instant, the entire world seemed to change.
The decaying floorboards, the dim yellow walls—suddenly, the whole room felt like an ancient relic filled with history.
The room was shrouded in thick black mist, a manifestation of the evil power within the villa.
In his sight, there was a fierce-looking middle-aged white man, overweight, wearing a blood-stained apron, holding a blood-soaked butcher knife—dressed as a butcher.
His bulky body was riddled with gaping, bloody holes.
These holes pierced through his body, likely caused by a weapon like a pitchfork that had inflicted fatal wounds.
At that moment, the fat butcher, with blood-red eyes, was charging at Rod with his cleaver raised.
"An evil spirit?"
Rod muttered quietly.
The hateful and resentful aura was unmistakably that of an evil spirit.
And compared to the previous spirit he encountered, this one was clearly much stronger.
With Halloween approaching, the power of these spirits was growing at an alarming rate.
Rod thought to himself, though his expression remained unchanged.
To a giant, does it matter whether it's an ant or a dung beetle?
"Ah!"
Rod suddenly stopped in his tracks, and Tasha, who had been nervously following behind him, didn't notice in time and bumped right into him.
Because of the evil spirit, she had left her house in a hurry, wearing only an oversized long shirt.
The shirt barely covered her behind, leaving most of her smooth legs exposed.
If the wind blew just right, one could easily see that she was completely exposed underneath.
Now, with the two of them pressed so closely together, the warmth of their bodies and the unique scent of Tasha gave her a strange feeling.
She tugged lightly at her shirt hem, awkwardly crossing her legs.
She felt like she was losing her mind.
In such a critical moment, she was actually feeling... something.
Glancing at her daughter standing nearby, Tasha took a step back to cover the odd expression on her face.
At that moment, the last protective amulet on her body suddenly became scorching hot.
Evil spirit!
Tasha's eyes widened, and just as she was about to warn Rod, who was standing in front of her, she saw him reach for his chest.
The crucifix necklace hanging around his neck instantly turned into a liquid-like stream.
In the blink of an eye, two chain-linked dual blades appeared in Rod's hands.
Each blade was about half a meter long, wide, and shaped like the head of a venomous snake. The front end of each blade had three short hooks, and the bottom of the handle extended outward in a curved hook.
The handles were connected by thick chains, which wrapped around Rod's forearms in several layers.
The rough, primal design of the blades looked as though they had been chiseled out of stone by ancient hands, with flame-like patterns resembling dried bloodstains.
Altogether, the weapon exuded a sense of heaviness, wildness, and brutality.
Yet, strangely, it also gave off an indescribable sense of overwhelming power.
Tasha stood there in shock, her eyes wide, her hand covering her mouth to suppress a scream, her face filled with disbelief.
Where did these blades come from?
Rod gripped the Chaos Blades, with pure, radiant holy power emanating from one chain blade and the soul-freezing frost of the other.
With a flick of his wrist, the sharp chain blades shot forward, piercing straight through the savage butcher spirit.
Clank!
Rod casually yanked the chain, and the blades flew back into his hands, where he caught them effortlessly.
