CHAPTER TWELVE(THE RECONCILIATION)

School started as usual for everyone except Avil, she could feel the tense atmosphere and the stares she got, she and her brother had tried looking for the person responsible but they couldn't find out who "Avil listen carefully, looking at the evil eyes you have been receiving since we came in and the excitement in the air, I think it's today they plan to deal with you, you have to be careful and watch your back, when you can't fight them, run to my block okay" she smiled gently at him "okay dad" he sighed " am not joking Avil" she looked at him " I have heard you, now run along you are late to class, bye" she left, Avis stood there for some time looking at her, he knew she didn't take him serious at all,but he hopes she will be fine, he left for his own block.

Avil walked not too slow nor too fast down the hallway to class, she pretended not to notice the eye signals and whistles that followed her as she walks by, she paused at the door surprised at who she saw in class, "𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺, 𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴 𝘵𝘰𝘰 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴" she ignored him and sat down on her seat, Ramon smirked at her, "heard you got your self busted in school? "

"heard you got yourself a HOME in prison? " Ramon's smiled faltered for a bit , seeing that she continued " I wanted to ask you for a long time, how was the food, the people and the BEAUTIFUL cell?, did you enjoy the small vacation?" Ramon laughed out loud attracting the attention of others and the teacher who looked pissed at him "Mr Ramon, can you share the reason for that laughter with us" Ramon apologized to the teacher who let go partially because he is teachers favourite.

The class ended after 4hrs later, Avil decided to go to the restroom and relive herself, she heard another footsteps behind her, she didn't pause nor look back, she continued walking like she noticed nothing, she changed her direction towards the rooftop and just like she thought, the person... ooh people followed her, she stopped and stood in the middle and once all five of them entered she turned with a mischievous look on her face " so how can I pay you guys for your bodyguard service to me since earlier, you know, I have been targeted but am glad that you guys cared enough to guard me, thank you all" they looked at her surprised she noticed them since earlier and they sneered, they immediately attacked without warning but she was damn prepared, the first girl swing a punch at her, she dodged and returned with one of hers causing the girl to fell down and fainted, the other girl with pink hair swing the wood she was holding at her, she dodged it left and right till she saw the opening shewas waiting for and stabbed the pink haired girl with her fingers in her eyes, the remaining three looked at each other gave an eye signal and attacked together, Avil was faring well against them till she tripped on the first girl still on the floor and fell down, then the kicks and punch started felling on her, she curled herself into a ball, her hands covering her face using the girl on the floor as shield,another footsteps sounded and the girls carried their fallen friends and fled, she slowly got up hissing at the pain she felt " those girls look weak but do have strong punches" she looked at the intruder who suddenly clapped probably at the show he stumbled on and sighed " oh master prison inmate, it's you? " she sneered, Ramon hands fisted tightly at his sides " you really have to stop calling me that Miss ignorance, you don't have any idea what you did that day? "

" And what did I do, exposing your felony? that's why am ignorant?, I don't think so "

" you think you know everything and you are always right?, then continue being an idiot " he left angrily, Avil's heart was a bit confused at his words but she shrugged it off " whatever " she went back to class after reliving herself and washing her hands.

After school, Avil had a lot to do at school and told her brother to go home without her, him thinking that she is safe since the time for the red card has passed, but he miscalculated, it lasts for a whole day.

She was at the library alone when the light suddenly went off and she heard the sound of metal hitting wood in successions, approaching steadily at her, if there is one thing Avil is very scared of, its the dark, especially with that kind of sound, she was scared "who is it, s... sho.. show yourself.. a.... am... am not afraid of you" she stuttered, an eerie laughter was heard, she immediately squarts down between shelfs shivering, she blocked both her ears with her palm to block out the noise but it was just muffled a bit, she started crying but the sound increased, suddenly it stopped and she uncovered her ears, she tried standing up but her legs were jelly and heavy, a very cold soft thing touched her bare arm causing her body to stiffen fear clouded her mind, it touched her again and the laughter was heard again this time behind her, she fell on her butt and scurried far from where she heard it,she buried her face in her knees crying silently afraid to give out her location, the sound stopped too suddenly like someone switched it off,causing the hair at the back of her neck to raise and everywhere was quite, eerily quite, a warm body embraced her from behind, she wanted to struggle against it but the owner talked and she remained quite " it's okay, open your eyes" she did as she was told and she saw that the lights are back, she looked at Ramon who stared back at her, her eyes wavered a bit to his lips but he got up sharply surprising her "pack your stuffs let's leave" he said and without waiting for her to say anything he started leaving, Avil hurriedly gathered her materials and followed him immediately, once they were out of the school, he went the opposite direction but she stopped him " wait, please " he turned and faced her, his face devoid of his usual mischievous smile and smirks " can I ask you a question? "

" you are doing that already "

" what do you mean by what you said earlier today at the rooftop? "

"it's nothing, forget about it, the target at you stops today, so you should be fine, if anyone else targets you after this then it's your fault"

"how did you know?, you are the one, what did I ever do to you?, was it because I testified against you but it was the damn truth, you took the.... " he interrupted her harshly,

"you know no shit, it wasn't what happened, before you testify against someone get all facts and be sure about it, I helped that from those guys, are you blind, how can those two guys ride that small bicycle or even me?, because of some stupid grudge you have against me over an unintended mistake you hurriedly testified against me, I nearly missed my sister's surgery, yes I gave out the order against you, so what, don't I have the right to be angry, huh? " Avil was shocked "𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦.. 𝘴𝘰 𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘐.. 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘶𝘱, 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘶𝘱" she approached him " am really sorry, I thought, am so sorry, I didn't know" he looked at her for some time, then he shrugged, she smiled at him thankfully "how about your sister, is she..... is she okay? "

"yeah, she is fine, just got discharged and am sorry about the red card, I heard some one nearly hit you a flower pot?, that wasn't me, mine was today and it has ended" she nodded

"I know, don't worry am fine, I gotta go it's getting late, thanks for earlier and sorry too"

"it's fine, let me send you off, don't reject me"

"okay, are we like friends now? " he smiled

"if you want to be, but I won't let you have the first place, it's mine"

"you wish, it was yours before I started schooling here but it's mine now" they both laughed.

They soon arrived at Avil's house " this is where I leave, see you tomorrow at school then"

"okay then, go inside" she waved at him and went inside, she hurried to her room and drew the curtain to stare at his departing back " he is actually kinda of cute"

Ramon turned and looked up, he smiled and continued on his way " she is very cute"
