Shanaiah Marie Smith just arrived in her hometown, Torin. She came from the city with her father, and since he already died, she will now live with her mother whom she actually never met. Ever since she was a child, she has been with her dad already. She knows her mother by the name, but nothing more than that. She's basically a mystery to her. The whole town of Torin is a mystery. She had no friends when she arrived, she didn't even know anyone except her mother. She actually thought it was just an ordinary rural town until one night she saw her mom, together with the other town people, drinking and feasting with human blood.
