First Mission: Gathering

"Teleporting? What nonsense is this?" As he spoke, he noticed his body emanating a growing luminosity with each passing second. "Hold on, I demand an explanation!"

When the time reached zero, Mikael was no longer there. He vanished, leaving behind nothingness. Until he woke up on a soft bed covered in blankets, those beautiful emerald eyes were wide open, looking out in various directions.

In a modest wooden room, the outside light welcomed him as he awoke, breathing irregularly and perspiring. With effort, he lifted himself, taking a seat on the edge of a white bed adorned with a simple pattern.

His head hurt as he witnessed several things like flashes of memory happening simultaneously. But, when he noticed the surroundings, this place felt familiar. So, what the system said was real, he was living back in a world that seemed different.

However, on the other hand, this was like a dream come true. He had always wanted to pursue alchemy but in the previous world, it was so difficult to implement. The world has evolved and that method is abandoned. But, in this second chance, it appeared distinct.

With a weak body, he tried to get up and summarized all the information. Stepping out of the room to confirm something. A lot of ingredients hung above the house, jars were neatly stored on the shelves, and some potions were decorated in tightly closed display cases.

Speechless, he approached every inch of his shop, scrutinizing each one with a beaming face. This is what he had imagined, it's all come true. Not to mention the cauldron there that still had nothing in it, increasing his excitement.

Zhihao almost jumped in surprise as a transparent hologram appeared right in front of him, dubiously trying to confirm, "Does this appear out of thin air?"

He touched it but his hand passed through, as if it was just a reflection of light. "Is it me alone who can see this information? What about this more detail?"

Until he found a bottle with the words "Meisha's Potion" attached among the other concoctions. "Is she here too?"

Zhihao opened the glass of the shelves and picked up the elixir, examining the bluish-colored liquid more closely. "Thick and rich in color, she might be one of the incredible alchemists out there."

"A mission?" He checked carefully. "Where was I supposed to find that ingredient? I don't even know where I am!"

Zhihao did not wait long to rush back into his room, finding a notebook that was not too small just like what the system said. Enthusiastically, he read carefully and memorized the crucial information written there.

His eagerness increased drastically this time, and given the same second chance as before, Zhihao did not want to waste it. Nearly half an hour he immersed himself in the note, he then stood up with an excited expression.

"Alright, let's finish this mission!" His face was radiant with a smile, quickly carrying a small sack tied on his waist and a basket that was not too large on his back.

Armed with a map, he marveled, "So this is the village of Twinhill? Where is this Golden Tree Forest?" He double-checks the note and then finds the location on the map. "It's not too far from the entrance, seems nice."

With burning enthusiasm, he quickly exited the house and was greeted by the diverse scene. Unlike his previous life, the air pollution was overwhelming when he left the house, the immense of vehicles filled the road, and sky-high buildings were everywhere. But now, none of that existed.

Although it is understandable because he is now in the nowhere village, no one has ever seen a walking lizard or cat in human form before! "Do I live in a fantasy book I ever read?" He was mesmerized by the diverse species around this village.

Guards could be seen patrolling on several sides, clad in iron armor that protected their chest to their abdomen, bracelets, and some metal boots with a mix of leather. Zhihao was convinced that he was now in a fictional world or back in ancient times, but for now, he averted his focus to embark on the quest.

Heading somewhere on a hill, he could see a forest that lived up to its name. Some of those trees have leaves that are yellowish-gold in color, buffeted by the breeze that makes them fly. It's incredibly beautiful and shooting. Some people were coming in and out of there, either having the same purpose as him or just enjoying the wonder of nature.

The atmosphere there was so relaxed that the sunlight struggled to enter, accompanied by the sound of leaves dancing above. Shortly after circling and asking some of the wanderers, Zhihao found a flourishing yellow hibiscus.

"Alright, one more thing!" He opened the map once more and searched for the area he had marked. "It's right beside the forest, eh?"

Not immediately stepping into the destination, the dark brown-haired man opened the compass, looking around the forest to confirm the direction. "So east is that way? Yeah, I think so."

He went through the denser bushes, having to pass through the river, which, fortunately, had a collapsed tree connecting with the land on the other side. When he finally escaped the forest, there was a large area overgrown with several plants. One of them was red ginger.

"Found you!" he exclaimed, starting to pull out the ingredients, which turned out to be very difficult. However, with great effort, he managed to obtain them.
