Damn politics

"Have some tea master…" Daniel said as he handed a cup of tea to Hira before standing back.

"Sip… uhm, this is good." Hira commended.

"I'm glad you liked it master." 

"Okay Daniel, tell me what you know about mages in this world." Hira got straight to the point while enjoying his tea.

"Yes master, mages are those people who are adept in the flow of mana. Our kingdom has many mages, but there are different stages of mages as well." 

"I don't know exactly how are they differentiated but, the mages are separated in different levels, such as novice, frontier and master. Most of the mages in this town are novice mages, except frontier mage Helga." Daniel told him whatever he knew. 

"Helga huh…" Hira had heard that name before, this was the mage who made the enhancement potions for Carl. 

"Daniel… I want to get all these mages under me, do you have any idea how I can do that?" He asked.

"Umm… master, it is very difficult to meet with the mages, even for me. But if the baron calls them, they will have to appear to give him face. I think you should first get the Baron under you." Daniel replied. 

"Hmm… and how do I meet with baron." Hira asked. 

"Master… The Baron's youngest wife is my sister. If you get her under your control, then it will be very easy to get near Baron." Daniel answered. 

"Your sister huh… tell me something, how is the relation between your sister and the baron." Hira asked.

"Master… actually there is on relationship between my sister and the Baron. Their marriage is purely political, but it is actually a plot. We come from the neighboring Baron family of Crest, it was our plan to marry my sister with the Baron while I and some of my men came here to see the situation of the town. Once we get all there is to know about the Baron, we will kill him and take over his territory." Daniel answered faithfully.

"So… you sacrificed your sister to get someone's territory?" Hira was amused. 

"Yes master… after all, women are just tools that can be used for profits." Daniel smiled as he replied. 

"Hmm… hmm… get here a bit, I want to beat the shit out of you right now." Hira ordered him.

"Sure master…" Daniel got himself into a 'slap me position'

"Slap… Slap… Slap…"

"Aah… feels better now. Now you listen to me… Women are not some tools, you better respect them, or else I will kill you next time." Hira said coldly.

Daniel's face was swollen and his eyes looked a bit confused, before returning to their original color.

"Yes master… I understand it now, thank you very much for making it clear for me." Daniel thanked him.

"Whatever… I feel terrible right now. Go and bring a potion." Hira ordered him.

Daniel immediately left and came back with a potion in a few minutes. 

Hira took a fruit knife from the table and cut his finger before letting the drops of blood fall inside the potion's vial.

"Alright… I will come back tomorrow." Saying that he left the room.

"Sure master…" Daniel replied as he kept the potion. 

As soon as Hira arrived near the gates, the watchmen bowed to him 90 degrees. 

"Heh…" Hira laughed before making his way to the shop. 

Power is the path to respect.

Hira entered the shop and found Misty still sleeping on the couch. 

"What a sleepy head…" He smiled before poking her cheeks. 

"Wake up my lady… or you will not be able to sleep in the night." 

Misty's eyes fluttered before she whined 

"Hmph…we don't sleep in the night anyway… let me sleep." Saying that she covered her head in the blanket. 

"…" Well, she was not lying. 

Then suddenly she came out of her blanket and kissed him on the lips.

"Hihi…" before going back to her slumber.

"Haha…" Hira could not help but laugh at her antiques. 

He stood up and went out of the office, where an employee found him.

"Hello boss." She spoke.

"It's you… what was your name again?" Hira asked.

"Boss, my name is Rose" She replied. 

Rose was one of the employees he had taken from Carl's shop, she was the person who advised the thugs to use the blood-potions on civilians, and she also helped the butler in trapping Daniel and Carl. 

"Rose… tell me what is it?" Hira asked her.

"Boss, there is a human trafficking about to happen between the Baron's territory and the neighboring territory. I need to keep a watch that the trafficking happens successfully, so may I take a leave tomorrow?"

"Huh… wait… huh… what… What the fuck?" 

Hira lost himself for a moment. What kind of fucking reason was that to ask for a leave? And what do you mean you have to take care it goes smoothly; shouldn't you be trying to stop it.

"Wait…" 

"By neighboring territory… what do you mean by that?" Hira composed himself before asking.

"It's the Crest Barony my lord." She replied. 

"Wait… are you one of Crest's people." Hira linked the dots. 

"Yes, my lord, I along with my brother Robert, are assassins who were ordered to come here and help Lord Daniel with his mission."

"Your brother?" Hira asked.

"Yes, my lord. It is the butler." 

"…"

"So, the butler is also from Crest." 

"Yes, my lord." 

Hira put his palm on his face.

"Damn politics."
