Chapter 170: Mangekyou Sharingan
As these words left Rodney's mouth, Enel's anger flared. He shouted furiously, "I will make you understand that the power of gods is not to be defied!"
Crazed fury filled his eyes as he channeled all the lightning within him. Every ounce of thunder and lightning was unleashed, wrapping him in an aura of thunderous power. He transformed into a colossal thunderous giant, his form both massive and majestic, like a god descending to earth. This move was none other than:
"MAX 200,000,000 V!"
This was his most powerful technique, one that Enel intended to use to demonstrate the might of a god and teach Rodney that divine authority should not be underestimated. Rodney would pay the price for his arrogance!
As Raijin appeared in the sky, the once pristine white clouds turned as dark as ink, engulfed in rolling thunderstorms. Lightning bolts streaked across the heavens, creating a thunderous spectacle that dwarfed the thunderous giant below, a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Upon closer inspection, it was indeed the case.
So... how did Enel lose to that Luffy?
The protagonist's plot armor truly was terrifying!
"God! Invincible! People from the Blue Sea, pay the price for your arrogance!"
The thunderous giant Enel, in the form of Raijin, reached out and seized the lightning from the sky directly. He stirred the charges within the clouds, causing the lightning to become even more ferocious, akin to a savage beast breaking free from its cage, choosing its prey.
"Ten Thousand Thunders!"
The lightning within the clouds erupted, creating an apocalyptic scene as countless bolts of lightning descended upon the island, seemingly intent on obliterating Skypiea itself!
"Robin!"
Rodney disregarded his own safety, and all he cared about was the safety of Robin, the person he had brought with him. He couldn't bear to see her harmed!
Navigating through the thunderstorm at lightning speed, he activated the Eight Inner Gates, transforming into a streak of light resembling lightning itself. He skillfully evaded the lightning strikes and detected Robin's life force within his sensory range.
She had taken refuge in a nearby building, and Rodney, in an instant, crashed through the structure, appearing beside her. He held her tightly in his arms and whispered, "I'm sorry, Robin."
Boom!
As soon as he spoke, the lightning struck down!
Except for the Golden Bell, all other structures in Skypiea were reduced to rubble.
"Yahahahaha!" Thunder God Enel laughed heartily. "Only I, Thunder God Enel, am truly invincible. How could mere Blue Sea people ever hope to match me?"
He reveled in his laughter, believing himself to be invincible. However, in the next moment, a sense of impending doom washed over him. His Kenbunshoku Haki was warning him frantically, and alarm bells rang in his mind.
A streak of light pierced through the smoke and dust, and it also pierced through his body. Lowering his head, Enel, within the body of Raijin, saw a massive crack forming. His body had been split in two, and the thunderous elements surged to repair the damage.
"Impossible! How could you still be alive?!!!"
Thunder God Enel screamed in disbelief, and then he "saw."
Amidst the smoke and dust, stood a colossal figure. Its pale blue body burned with chakra, resembling flames, and its eyes gleamed like a radiant sun, resembling a demonic deity.
On one arm, it wielded a shield-like weapon, while the other hand held a sharp, shining sword.
This was the very sword that had pierced through his body moments ago.
And within this semi-translucent figure of a demon, Rodney held Robin in his arms. Blood trickled from his eyes, and his pupils were no longer the Three Tomoe Sharingan; they were now intricate patterns. Beyond his pupils was a faint black circular ring, with three fine lines curving slightly and connecting to the edge as if they were spinning. Three thicker patterns spiraled inward, resembling a whirlwind. The pattern was complex and mysterious.
These eyes exuded an eerie and malevolent aura. Robin stared at them in astonishment, as Rodney had transformed into someone completely different from the sunny and warm person she had known before.
Mangekyou Sharingan!
It was widely known that to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan, one had to experience intense trauma. For Rodney, his deep concern for Robin, feelings of regret, guilt, and a sense of powerlessness had all shattered his emotional boundaries.
This allowed Rodney to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan!
The first thing he did was to summon Susanoo to protect Robin and himself. Fortunately, Susanoo's defensive capabilities did not disappoint, keeping them both safe.
Although the pain in his eyes was unbearable, a refreshing sensation entered his eyes. This was the power of the Byakugo no Jutsu, temporarily preventing him from experiencing the temporary blindness or myopia that often accompanied the use of Mangekyou Sharingan.
The Mangekyou Sharingan was not eternal; using it too frequently carried the risk of blindness. Excessive use could lead to blindness or even afflictions similar to Itachi's, ultimately resulting in death.
"Amaterasu!"
The power residing in his left eye, Amaterasu, ignited within Enel's body. Wherever his gaze fell, black flames would burn relentlessly until the target was reduced to ashes. Only when the target was completely incinerated would the flames extinguish.
The black flames instantly engulfed Enel's thunderous body. Despite the surging electrical currents within him, Enel felt the terrifying heat and pain. He sensed the danger concealed within.
He immediately stirred the lightning elements on his body's surface and flung Amaterasu's flames aside. In an instant, the flames consumed a portion of the lightning but were ultimately extinguished.
"Feel the wrath of this move, Enel!"
He unleashed the Mangekyou Sharingan's right eye technique. A black beam of light shot out from his eye, blindingly bright, like the scorching sun. In an instant, it pierced through Enel's hand and into his skull.
"Dammit!"
The wound on his head healed rapidly, but he would not let go of the humiliation Rodney had inflicted upon him. The dignity of a god could not be tarnished!
"Captain..." Robin watched Rodney with concern. This transformation of Rodney was terrifying. He exuded an icy and unfamiliar aura, like a completely different person, and it made her uncomfortable.
"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you," Rodney whispered softly, his control over Susanoo unwavering. He continued, "Now, let's see the sharpest sword. This is the Sword of Totsuka, the Sword of the Gods! The Sword of Totsuka shall be your end!" With a swing of Susanoo's arm, the sword, entirely composed of chakra, unleashed countless slashes of light in an instant.
"Ten Thousand Thunders!"
Enel released another fearsome thunderstorm, showcasing the full might of his Rumble-Rumble Fruit. Though he lacked Haki, his mastery over his Devil Fruit abilities was on par with seasoned users like Crocodile. Unfortunately for him, if he were struck by this move again, Rodney's awakening of the Mangekyou Sharingan would have been in vain.
With the absolute defense of Susanoo, there was no way that Ten Thousand Thunders could pierce through. Raising the arm-mounted shield, he effortlessly deflected the thunderous onslaught.
"Thunder is useless against me now, Enel! Surrender!"
Susanoo expanded, and even though it appeared bulky, it moved with astonishing agility, ignoring the thunderstorm as it pounded Enel mercilessly. Rodney's overwhelming strength left Enel no room to retaliate.
Enel was beaten back into his human form, lying in a pit of destruction. His body was covered in wounds, blood trickled from the corners of his mouth, and his eyes were lifeless. He muttered in disbelief, "How... How is this possible? I am a god!"
He refused to believe that Rodney had defeated him despite wielding the power of thunder.
