Each day the wizards worked on Henry and slowly the purple around his mouth and down his neck, all the way to the middle of his chest started to get better.
On the sixth day in the early afternoon, Henry started coughing and a few of the wizards were at his bedside.
His eyes fluttered and he squeezed them shut when the light invaded his senses.
The old healer went to the doorway of the medical tent and shouted, "Get the commander and Sir Trenton quickly!"
He coughed again and grimaced. His throat hadn't completely healed due to how dry it had become while he remained unconscious.
A wizard Henry didn't recognize was soon at his side with a ladle of water. He held it up to the apprentice's mouth and all Henry could do in response was start drinking.
"We'll bring you bitter tea for the cough soon enough," the wizard said.
The apprentice nodded and started to sit up. He had the urge to start moving.
