Chapter 46 : Luck Really Is a Strange Thing

As the sun rose, Wang Qian woke up inside the carriage. He got out of it, leaving Bai Lian, who was sleeping soundly inside, to start preparing their breakfast. He quickly reheated the soup from last night and pour it in a bowl. He then place that bowl aside before taking another one and filling it up.

He then brought the two bowls back to the carriage, and sat next to the sleeping Bai Lian. He put the bowls down as he woke Bai Lian up.

"Bai Lian, time to wake up now. I brought our breakfast."

"Okay..." she replied as she got up slowly. She then stretched her body before rubbing her eyes. Wang Qian then passed her the bowl after she finished all that. The two quickly finished their meal, as they both got down the carriage. They sat on the trunk that was cut off by Wang Qian yesterday to be used as a chair. 

Bai Lian condensed multiple mini water ball for Wang Qian, which was to be used to clean their bowls, spoons and the other utensils. After finishing all that, he kept all of them back onto the carriage before getting onto the seat at the front with Bai Lian.

The carriage started moving as the two continued on their journey of finding a place with a 'fragile' space. It was then that Bai Lian asked

"Papa, are we really going to find a place where the space is 'fragile'? How does a place with 'fragile' space even look like?"

"Sigh, I don't know either. The only way to know is for me to launch a punch into the air and see if a space tear appears." 

"So does that mean, papa will have to launch a punch every time we stop somewhere?"

"Yup, that's the only way."

The carriage continued on moving. Soon another carriage appeared in their view, Wang Qian made the horse move faster to close in the distance between the two carriages. 

"Morning, sir. Can I know what's at the end of the road?" Wang Qian asked the uncle on the other carriage

"Morning, kid. This road leads to a small village, that village doesn't have a name yet due to it being newly built, but it will soon be given a name by their village head. We will have to pass through a small dessert on the way. The size of the dessert is about a quarter of a normal city. This dessert is quite dangerous as they are a few scorpion lords in it."

"Scorpion lord? What's that?" Bai Lian asked the uncle

"You never heard of a scorpion lord before, little girl? Well, let me explain. It's a scorpion that rules over multiple scorpions. A scorpion lord usually have 100-200 scorpions under it. Above scorpion lord, are the scorpion king and the scorpion emperor." the uncle explained

"Ooh, that sounds cool."

"It might sound cool, but it is very dangerous. A normal scorpion has the strength of 4 normal adult, about the strength of a D-rank adventurer."

"I see, thanks for the info sir."

"No problem, kid. I'll have to speed up a little, I have a meeting with the village I mention just now. Nice meeting ya, kid"

"Goodbye uncle!" Bai Lian said as he waved her hand

The uncle's carriage soon disappeared from their sight, just like it was before Wang Qian saw it. He let the horse slow down and have a small break. He gave the horse a few carrot before letting it move again. Soon, Wang Qian and Bai Lian reached the dessert mentioned by the uncle. 

"Ooh, so this is a dessert. I've never seen one before." Bai Lian said as she looked around curiously.

"You'll get to see more in the future. I'll be bringing you around to see the world after all." He said as he patted her head.

The carriage continued to move on. As they moved deeper in, more sand was seen blowing in the air, obstructing the vision of Wang Qian.

"There's a lot of wind. Could there be a sandstorm nearby?" Wang Qian tried to guess

"What's a sandstorm, papa?" Bai Lian asked

"A sandstorm is a lots of sand being blown into the air by a strong wind. Once the wind disappear, people who are in there might get buried alive." Wang Qian teased her

"That sounds very bad. Will we meet one here in this dessert?"

"Maybe, but let's hope not too."

The carriage continued to move in the strong wind while sands brushed through the skins of Wang Qian and Bai Lian. It continued to get bigger, leaving Wang Qian no choice but to try and condense face masks for both of them.

The face mask was condensed as Wang Qian passed one to Bai Lian before putting one on his head. Bai Lian never seen this kind of thing before, so he had to put it on for her. He then later on made one for the horse so that it's eyes doesn't get any sands stuck in it. ( btw it's the kind where there's a shield in front of your face, but the one he condensed has the shield covered the sides too ).

After removing the risk, the carriage continued to move before stopping due to the wind getting stronger and stronger, till the point where the horse can't pull anymore. They then stopped the carriage as Wang Qian and Bai Lian sat inside the carriage, hiding from the sands that was blown into the air. They took off their masks as soon as they got in.

"The wind is getting stronger and stronger, it can't really be that there's a sandstorm coming our way, could it?"

"What do we do, papa? I don't wanna get buried under the sand."

"Don't worry we won't. We're just stuck here for now. As soon as the wind stop blowing, we'll be able to continue move on safely."

They then wait inside the carriage for the wind to stop blowing. From time to time, Wang Qian will feed the horse with carrots so that the horse can recover it's energy. Soon, night came. The wind has already stopped blowing. Wang Qian and Bai Lian got off the carriage as they looked at the night sky.

"It's already nighttime, looks like we'll have to wait for the sun to rise before continuing. For now, let's have dinner."

"Okay."

Wang Qian then took out the utensils and the bowls as he started taking out the leftover materials from yesterday when he prepared the soup. He asked Bai Lian to condense some mini [ Water Ball ] and released it inside the pot. He also asked her to condense a mini [ Flame Ball ] under it. After that, he added the vegetables and some meat in it before adding the seasonings.

He then put on the lid as he waited for it to be cooked. After waiting for 5 minutes, the soup was finally ready. He took it out and filled two bowls for him and Bai Lian. They then quickly finish their meal and headed to sleep. They quickly went asleep as they cuddled together.

The next morning, Wang Qian repeated the same thing he did last morning. Waking up, reheating the soup, bringing it to Bai Lian, waking her up, finishing their meals, cleaning the utensils, packing them up, and getting onto the seat of the carriage and drove it.

Just as the carriage started moving, the ground a few meters in front of it started shaking a little before a group of scorpions appeared. There was about 7 of them. Wang Qian quickly made the horse stop before getting off the carriage. Just as he was about to start killing the scorpions, [ Light Rays ] was fired and hit them. The scorpions died quickly. Wang Qian then turned his head as he saw Bai Lian, who had her hand raised up. 

"I wanted to try killing them, so I....." she explained

"It's okay. I'm not mad. But you'll need to work better, look there's one left." he said as he pointed towards a scorpion who was at the back. The scorpion was trying to decide if it should escape. Before it could, Wang Qian appeared in front of it in a instant before punching towards it, smashing it into pieces.

"I guess I used too much strength huh...." he said while looking at his fist.

"Papa, look over there!" Bai Lian said as she point to his left. Wang Qian turned his head, what he saw was a small black line that was in the air. The black line looks like it was about to disappear the next second.

"A space tear!" he said before dashing towards it and launched a punch. The space tear was then enlarged as it opened up. 

"We found it, papa. We found it!" Bai Lian exclaimed. 

Wang Qian quickly got on to the carriage and drove it in the space tear. The next moment, he appeared in a space where everything was black. The kind of black where light seems to be devoured. It was then that the system sent him a message

[ THE HOST HAS ENTERED THE VOID ( MAIN WORLD ) ]

[ DETECTED THAT THE HOST HAS ENTERED A DIMENSION WHERE THE ROYAL PALACE CANNOT ACCESS ]

[ DETECTED THE HOST HAS COMPLETED SIDE QUEST : BATTLE WITH THE ROYAL PALACE (2) ]

[ THE REWARDS WILL NOW BE GIVEN TO THE HOST ]

Wang Qian took a deep breath before saying. 

"Luck really is a strange thing..."
