Chapter 38 : [ COMBAT SERIES : HOLY MAGIC ]

When they finish their breakfast, Wang Qian and Bai Lian decided to head back to their rooms and learn more spells from the text they copied. The two sat together on the sofa as they read the text on their hands. Time passed quietly as the two indulged in their own world of reading. Soon, Hua Yue contacted Wang Qian through the link.

'My lord, are you there?'

'What is it, Hua Yue?' 

'It is lunch time now, my lord. We also need to meet with the other believers after lunch.' Hua Yue reminded

'Oh, I almost forgot. Thanks for reminding. I'll bring Bai Lian along with me now.'

'No need to rush, my lord. We can wait for my lord and Princess Bai'

Wang Qian then turned to Bai Lian and said

"Bai Lian, we need to go and have lunch now. Hua Yue and Butler Chen are already waiting for us."

"Okay." Bai Lian replied. She then put the paper down and got up and hold hands with Wang Qian and left the room as they headed to the dining room.

Once they entered the room, Wang Qian said

"Sorry if we made you guys wait, Bai Lian and I were indulged in reading and forgot about time."

"My lord doesn't need to apologize, it's our fault for disturbing my lord and Princess Bai's happy time." 

"Since you put it that way, we might as well make it equal. Let's get ready to eat." He said as they sat next to Hua Yue.

The food was then sent in by the waiter and placed on the table. Wang Qian and the others took the portion they wanted on their plates before starting to eat. While they were enjoying the meal, Hua Yue suddenly talked

"My lord, I have already informed the other believers in the city to meet at the mansion after this. My lord doesn't need to worry about the royal palace finding about the gathering, I've made several hidden passages for them to go through. We should have about 500 people as most of the people of the city are believers of my lord's cult" she reported

"500 people....huh. That sounds a lot more than back at the City of Snowing Garden" 

"Although we do have more people compared to them, the difference isn't that big, about 20 people. Anyways my lord, we should be quick as it is almost time for us to meet them already"

"You're right. Let's finish it quick. We'll leave the dessert for later"

All four of them quickly finished their meals as they got up and exited the dining room, Butler Chen then lead the way to the hall that is going to be used for their gathering. When they entered the room, they realized that there was already a few people there waiting, about 50. The 50 people turned their heads as they stopped talking and looked at them. Seeing that it was their general and Butler Chen, they became relieved as they looked over to Wang Qian and Bai Lian who were next to Hua Yue. It was then that Butler Chen closed the door and Hua Yue started speaking to them.

"Listen up you all, this man here is our lord, while the girl next to him is our lord's daughter, Princess Bai. Some of you might not know, but my lord here is not the old demon lord we know. The old demon lord has passed away as the new one was born, so we should now follow the orders of the new demon lord." she stopped talking and let the people digest the information they've just gotten. Seeing that all of them has understand what has happened, she then said again

"What are you all doing? Quickly pay respect to our lord!"

All of them immediately came back to their senses after hearing Hua Yue's words, as they got down on one knee

"Paying respects to my lord and Princess Bai, your loyal believers are here" they said in unison

"You all can get up. We will be starting after all of you have gathered. For now, continue on what you guys were doing." Wang Qian said 

"Understood"

They got back up as they turned back to speak amongst themselves with a lower volume. Wang Qian and the group then moved to the front as Butler Chen got the chairs for them to sit while he stood at the side. As time passed, more and more of the believers came in. It was only after sitting there for about 30 minutes that all of them gathered. Seeing this, Hua Yue stood up.

"Everybody stop talking. We shall now start the meeting" she said

She then sit down as Wang Qian stand up and introduced himself.

"Some of you might already know, but I'm the new demon lord. This over here is my lovely daughter, Bai Lian. I will skip the unnecessary and go to the main point."

"I'm sure you all have your own communication orb, am I right?" he asked. All of them nodded as they heard his words.

"Then if I told you, that the communication orb that was created by the previous demon lord contains some mana left behind by him, and it is dangerous for you all, would you guys believe me?"

Hearing his words, the crowd had an uproar. Most of them didn't believe what he said, but Wang Qian didn't care as he raised his hand, signaling them to silence.

"I know this might sound unbelievable, but it's the truth, and that is also the reason behind this meeting. The mana left inside can cause you all to get a low level cursed, and it'll slowly increase the more you used the orb, what I'm going to do is to cure you all and remove the mana inside the orb. So, I want you all to split into groups. A group needs to have 80 people in it, the extra 20 people can form a small group. You guys can start moving now."

Despite have their doubts, they all listen to his orders and form 6 groups with one small one. Seeing that all of them have already entered a group, Wang Qian nodded before talking

"I now want you all to take out your communication orb and hold it." 

They followed his order, and took the orb out as they hold it. 

"I'll be starting the process from this group. Get ready."

He walked over to the small group first as he casted [ Holy Cure ] on them all. The next second, faint white light shone from the orb, before dying down and revealing the orb which has turned from color changing into bright white.

"I feel stronger now! My body also feels... lighter?" a person said

"I feel the same too! Could it be that we really have been inflicted with a curse?"

"Silence!" Hua Yue said. She then nodded her head to Wang Qian, who also nodded back

"I'll be casting the spell on this group. The next group get ready if you haven't." 

The following process was the same as what happened at the forest, just at a bigger scale. After 10 minutes, Wang Qian finished curing them all as he sat back down.

"We thank our lord for curing us and removing the risk!" they said in unison. 

"No need to thank, you all can go back now. The orb will no longer cause any problems" Wang Qian said

"Understood." they said. They then started leaving the hall one by one while stopped moving for a few minutes before continuing again. This was to prevent the others from finding out that the demon lord's cult was having a meeting over here from the sudden increase in people when all of them leave together.

Soon, the hall which was packed just now, became empty. Wang Qian then asked Hua Yue and Butler Chen to stand in front of him. The two immediately follow his order as they took out their orbs. Wang Qian quickly used [ Holy Cure ] on them as the curse got lifted and their orbs turned white.

"Now, what do we do? We've already cured all of them so we should've finished everything we can do."

"Does my lord want to bring Princess Bai to play on the streets? We can pay for your expenses if my lord wants to" Hua Yue suggested

"Is that okay? We might spend a lot though" Wang Qian said

"It's okay my lord. As long as the amount spend doesn't reach a million silver quins, everything will be alright." Hua Yue said

"....that's a lot of money..."

"Then can we go, papa? I wanna try the foods on the streets!" Bai Lian said

"If you say so, let's go then." 

"I'll send a believer from the cult in the mansion to follow my lord in secret. He will be tasked to pay for my lord's expenses. I wish my lord and Princess Bai have a good time" Hua Yue said

"Thanks, we'll be going now." 

As they left, Wang Qian summoned his status.
