Chapter 6: "Final Destination"

Chapter 6: "Final Destination"

With the help of the inscriptions the wolf that was around the height of a meter, with its claws managed to hold on.

[Level: 41]

"That thing will be able to climb in no time!" This pillar was just ten meters. It would just take fifteen to twenty minutes, as the wolf possessed sharp claws!

"Those claws would tear me up like tofu!" It was fortunate that the wolf didn't land on him and instead at the edge of the pillar.

Judging by the crater formed on the pillar, it was obvious, that the wolf had fallen on his body, he would have turned into meat paste. Shaking his head he got rid of the disturbing image that had formed in his head.

He then once again looked at the wolf that was slowly closing the distance between Tai Xin and himself. Upon looking at Tai Xin, its eyes started to sparkle. It hastened the climbing, making Tai Xin speechless.

"Haa, my handsomeness has no bounds." Looking at the wolf Tai Xin started to think about many methods, by which he could defeat it.

His first thought was to complete his inscription in mind. The inscription was of a basic spell fireball.

It was a long-range attack making it safe for him. Unfortunately, it would take him more than half a day to complete the inscriptions.

Other possibilities appeared in his mind, however, their success rate was extremely pitiful.

In the end, only one idea was left in his mind. There was a great risk present within it, but had higher chances than other plans.

Steeling his will he once again looked at the wolf before looking at the other side. Willing mana to his legs, his body shot towards the other side.

The wind constantly hitting his skin was reminding him of his burns, due to the burning sensation brought by it.

Splash!

Tai Xin immediately gritted his teeth, trying to suppress his pain as his body came in contact with the blood lake.

"Better move my ass from here."

Tai Xin quickly moved his arms and legs, trying to get as far away from there. "Damn it!"

His eyes turned bloodshot, as Tai Xin willed mana throughout his body. His body was slowly getting warm due to the help of mana, however, he still felt cold. Mana wasn't that big of a help but still was better than nothing.

He looked up, at the platform of the pillar. Instinctively his eyes went further, looking at the sky. The red orb, supposed to be the "sun" was slowly setting down, getting replaced by a much smaller, green orb, supposed to be the "moon".

As the green moon appeared, the temperature started to lower even more. As a result, Tai Xin's teeth started to chatter.

His body was slowly shivering, making it harder to swim further.

And soon the red orb was replaced by the emerald-green moon. Feeling the temperature, dropping even further Tai Xin's heart was gripped by fear.

The fear that was present within every living organism, integrated within their bones. The fear of death! This feeling erupted within Tai Xin, making it hard to even breathe.

Slowly raising his head he looked at the green orb. The beautiful emerald-green light, radiated by the "orb", the feeling of calmness that was followed by the fear of death, appeared suddenly due to looking at that emerald-green light for some unknown baffling reason.

The lake, which was completely deep red distressed a person's mind, when he looked at it... Now possessed a hint of green and blue within it, merging to form something bearable. It was more than that.

Looking at all of this... Tai Xin's mind finally came to peace. His thinking became more clear and rational. As soon as it did, he first scanned his body. Some of his wounds had started to close, some had worsened. It was thanks to mana that he would be able to survive for a long time without treating those wounds. That's why mages, or anyone who could use mana were generally considered as an unkillable roach.

"Only if I was stronger, or my mana control was better."

Just as this thought entered his mind, his focus was taken away by something. The entire phenomenon that would occur, could just be described as magical. Something that seemed to be an illusion, materializing from pages of some kind of novel.

Tai Xin's eyes were wide open refusing to blink even for a second in fear of missing a single moment.

...

A few kilometers away from the blood lake, the outline of a figure sitting on the ground could be seen. His presence alone created a heavy environment, making it difficult to even breathe in his presence

The figure was blurry because of the fog surrounding the lands and the lake, with a hint of red present within it. Thought it wasn't a problem for the figure, as he was an inheritor capable of using mana. He had willed mana to his eyes allowing him to see better.

Alister Feng. Someone standing at the level of 117. The strongest inheritor of the world.

Currently, he was dressed in a three-piece formal suit, the coat and the layer beneath it being black while the last piece being white.

He possessed black hair, with red eyes. His skin was pale extremely pale. He looked like a corpse whose blood was completely drained from the body.

Beside Alsiter Feng, was a middle-aged man standing. He wore clothes similar to that of a house Buttler.

A glint appeared in his light brown eyes as he slowly looked at the sky. The red sun was slowly getting replaced by an emerald green moon, changing the color of the sky simultaneously.

Though the temperature dropped even further, looking at the moon it brought one's mind to peace.

Added with the stars that suddenly appeared in the night sky followed by the moon, contributed to its beauty.

Alister Feng slowly stood up. He would make the people who didn't know about him, fear that he would fall due to exhaustion and weakness.

"Sir, if all the information we possess is correct, then we'll see a spectacle now."

Looking towards the man, Alister Feng smiled. His lips slowly opened. "Only regret, there's no snacks." His slightly hoarse voice echoed.

Listening to the light-hearted joke, the man beside Alister Feng smiled, while nodding slightly.

They then exerted their complete focus on the moon that had completely replaced the sun. No matter what they didn't remove their eyes, from the moon.

And then... It happened.

"So... The myths are real."

"It still feels too fake."

"No, it is real. Very magical."

The mini army of a hundred people who had camped over there, following the leadership of Alister Feng was looking at the scene before them with awestruck expressions.

Myth... Had become reality.

Twelve pillars, entirely formed of blood-red light, erupted piercing the sky. The entire lake seemed to be alive at that second, as the waves became more chaotic.

The blood lake slowly started to become more solid. Thousands and thousands of thread-like structures, each of them present in a semi-liquid state erupted launching toward the sky.

"Roar!" The monsters present in the lake froze. Whether it was fighting, sleeping, or any other activity. The next moment roars erupted within the lake as if cheering for those thread-like structures to quickly reach the sky.

On the other hand, those thread-like structures became slower and slower as they started binding with each other.

And then. The first step was formed. These threads squirmed like worms, binding each other and forming something similar to a single step. The step had completely taken a solid form. The threads present above this one single step once again resumed the process forming more steps. These threads were slowly forming a staircase.

The monsters in Blood Lake became more excited looking at the staircase that was slowly being constructed.

5 steps!

10 steps!

15 steps!

20 steps!

.

.

.

100 steps!

It nearly took thirty minutes to complete form those gigantic steps. Under everyone's curious eyes, the fog near the step suddenly started s to disappear revealing the outline of a... Island.

As soon as the island appeared in front of their vision, all the monsters that had held their breath waiting for the island to appear excitedly rushed towards the steps! Even the monsters on the land rushed toward the lake excitedly.

Alister Feng at that moment looked at the man beside him who seemed to understand what Alister meant.

"Well, we will depart in a few minutes, get ready!"

They all had rested for the past two days after taking part in a dangerous battle. Currently, they had almost recovered, making it the best time to attack.

Alister on the other hand looked at the island emotionlessly. He clenched his fist simultaneously.

The myths and legends spoke the same thing about this island. Every creature born in this catacomb yearned to go to this place.

It was infamously known as...

"Final Destination"
