I Ruined Mr. Tyrant's Wedding

"What exactly do you want from me, Mr. Mori?" "I told you, I want a bride. You took my bride, you bring me another one." She snickered. "You want me to become a matchmaker?" "No, sweetheart," he stood from his seat and leaned forward. Both his hands were flat on the desk as he crouched and peered down at Allie's piercing eyes. Evan stared at her green eyes darkly. They were so alive like a lovely summer forest, yet at the same time they were unnervingly cold and fearless. He didn't like her defiance. "You will take her place. You will be my bride." Mission Gone Wrong?

Eyes were popping out and jaws were dropping everywhere.

"I know you did not love me, and I am not asking for you to marry me! Fine, I won't chase after you! I will leave with our child and never come back! I only came because I want to tell your bride that you are not worth marrying!"

"Miss Cassidy, you will be wasting your life if you marry that man! He can't accept our child, that's why I will leave and never come back!" Allie continued crying, her voice echoing in the church.

Allie's acting was flawless. No one could see through her with her eyes bloodshot, and her face filled with tears.

"What is happening?" the bride's family complained. "Do you have a child, Mr. Mori?"

Evan Mori didn't answer. He was staring at Allie with a stoic expression no one could read.

Allie looked ahead, meeting the man's eyes.

She was expecting his denial and her lines were ready to roll out of her tongue.

But instead, Allie was surprised when Evan's lips curled slightly into a smirk for a quick second.

He turned to his bride and spoke in a calm voice, distant and cold.

"Miss Ambrose, as you have heard from the woman, she is with my child. Do you want to carry on with the wedding?"

Before the bewildered Cassidy could speak, she was pulled by her mother out of the church.

"Mr. Mori, you have disappointed us!" the bride's father blurted out in anger.

Allie remained standing for a moment, stunned at how things turned out.

She knew that only her scandalous appearance on the wedding day could stop the wedding. The Ambrose family might be hell-bent on pursuing this marriage, but this kind of scandal wasn't good for their business, so they would likely stop the wedding to save their reputation.

Besides, with all the witnesses, it would give the bride a grand excuse to escape the marriage!

Now that the job was done, Allie smiled a bit, ready to make her escape as well.

But just as she was about to step out of the church, a strong hand held her wrist, and she found herself being pulled somewhere inside the church.

She looked at the man's back pulling, and she knew it was none other than Evan Mori.

The guests were eyeing them, eyes wide open.

Esme Mori blocked the way and asked in a shocked voice, "Who is she, Evan? Is she really your lover?"

Evan didn't say anything and continued walking. Allie struggled to break free. She didn't want a confrontation.

"Let go of me! I don't need anything from you! I will leave and never see you again, like I said!" Allie cried for everyone to hear.

But Evan's grip on her wrist didn't loosen. He pulled her up to the staircase until they reached a quiet corner upstairs.

Allie wanted to avoid confrontation with Evan as much as she could because things would get messy. But of course, she knew this could happen and had made arrangements beforehand. Even if Evan would bring her to the police, she had many cards up her sleeve.

How could she lose in her own game?

Allie no longer looked emotional as if she hadn't been playing the victim earlier. Her eyes were indifferent, and there was a lazy look in her eyes when she gazed up at the man towering over her.

Evan Mori was tall and had a nice build, she noticed. Even with heels on, he was half a head taller. The tailored white coat suited his toned body perfectly.

She looked at his face. His dark blonde hair was slicked back. He had sharp facial features, a prominent nose, and brows darker than his hair. His eyes were a dark shade of sea-green, deep and cold.

"So…" he spoke, his voice low and husky, "how's our baby doing?"

Allie's eyes narrowed. She was stunned that it was the first question he threw at her!

Evan Mori appeared so calm that she didn't know what to say for a moment. She was expecting him to be riled up and throw malicious words at her for ruining his wedding.

He smirked darkly.

"How come I didn't know that I got a woman pregnant? It would have been our wedding today."

So he was being playful, thought Allie. Still, it made her wonder why Evan wasn't the least bit alarmed that his wedding didn't go through. Was it because he was confident that he could patch things up? She wasn't sure.

Or simply because he didn't want to get married?

She held her head up, smiling at the man.

"It seems like you're not worried that your bride ran away, Mr. Mori."

"Why would I worry? Aren't you doing this because you want to marry me?" he cocked his head proudly. "I only want a bride, it doesn't matter who."

What did he mean? Allie was puzzled, but her confusion didn't show on her face. It seemed like he was implying that he could marry her instead, which was ridiculous.

Allie pressed a button on her bracelet, which could detect a recorder within a five-meter radius.

She couldn't be rash with her words. Who knows if Evan hid a recorder somewhere in his clothes? If she mentioned anything that would disprove her lines earlier, it would be easier for him to clear his name, which could lead to the reconciliation of the couple's families.

Soon, Allie confirmed that Evan didn't have any recorder near him, nor was he recording on his phone. Her bracelet was connected to her phone, and it would notify her phone once she pressed the button on the bracelet.

"I know you were hired by someone to stop the wedding," Evan spoke before she could.

"As I expected, you are smart, Mr. Mori."

He wasn't the top business tycoon in Claymount at the age of 28 just because of his family. The man was a genius in his field.

"It's a shame, my mother finally made me agree to an arranged marriage. But it was ruined because of you."

He smiled, not the friendly kind, but a devilish smile that sent a shiver down Allie's back.

"Don't worry, I won't sue you," he said calmly. It reminded Allie of the calm before the storm. Quiet but deadly.

Evan took one step forward, and Allie stayed rooted in her place, looking straight into his eyes. She had never backed down from anything before, so why would she step back if he was coming at her?

"But let me tell you this, Miss Gray," he muttered under his breath, leaning closer, "I won't let you get away with this."

Then he walked away.

Allie stood frozen for a moment. What did he mean?

Wait—her eyes widened at the realization. Did he just call her 'Miss Gray'?

Why the hell did he know her surname?!
