7. Confusion

"Where was your mission then?" Liu Xiang asked on his behalf, figuring out what he's trying to do.

"Diamond Hotel, but I'm sure I didn't see you there" Leona answered as she walked pass her brothers, coming forward seeing it's useless to go round circles when some of the superiors in the room knew where they went that day.

Xavier approached her and leaned down to examine her face, trying to read her expression but she didn' back down and stood firm on her spot while staring back at him and this time he's genuinely surprised. He finds it odd that she doesn't show any indication of lying at all.

" I think you have the wrong person Xavier" said Klaus but Xavier ignored what he said and just continued to stare at Leona.

"Or maybe it was someone who looks like her" Li Wei interjected.

" I can't be wrong" He leaned further down to Leona, nose almost touching her neck. " Your scent is just like hers."

Leona's heart skipped a bit with what he did, she has this inexplicable feeling in her stomach when she felt his warm breathe fanning her neck but her mouth twitched with what he had said after.

'what do you mean by my scent??? how is this topic suddenly getting inappropriate???' She pushed him before turning to his brothers who were as surprised as her.

And that's when it hit all of them, they exchanged glances and realized what happened.

"Oh, Leona accidentally drank something and forgotten most of what had happened that day." Akio tried to save the situation from getting out of hand.

"Yes! that's right! " Li Wei agreed, nodding his head like a chicken.

"I'm sure she was not intoxicated that day, she didn't taste like alcohol as well." Xavier answered matter-of-factly. But the content of the statement was too much for everyone to bear that the room fell silent, everyone's mouth was agape, not believing what they heard from such a respectable man.

Leona on the other hand turned red like a tomato and for the first time everyone saw another expression on her usual stoic face; embarrassment and then anger. She's about to burst when Liu Xiang broke the silence with a hearty but awkward laugh.

"Pfft- I'm so sorry everyone, I'm pretty sure my brother here didn't mean it that way." Liu Xiang said in between laughs " Apologies miss, but I can vouch that my brother is not some pervert okay? In fact he's the biggest snob I've known-" He couldn't continue explaining because he can already feel Xavier's eyes sending daggers his way.

"Hahahaha, it seems like you two are already acquainted so this should make things less awkward then." said one of the superiors, trying to change the subject, as if the situation is not awkward enough for him.

"Brother I need to go to the restroom" Leona turned to Klaus and asked permission and the latter nodded.

"Okay, how about we all take a break first." The person in charge of the meeting proposed when it has not even started yet, feeling that the icebreaker they all witnessed is too much for everyone.

Leona kept her emotion in check before getting out the restroom just for her to seethe in anger again looking at the man waiting for her outside.

'What the hell does he want now?' She wanted to act like she didn't see him but she would only look guilty and she doesn't deal with problems by fleeing so she walked towards him.

"Anything else?" he raised an eyebrow at her, not expecting her to initiate a conversation with him.

"You don't remember me?"

"No"

"How come, when you were blatantly flirting with me two weeks ago?" he asked coldly, hands on his pockets. He watched as Leona's face turned scarlet out of anger.

"I have no idea of what you're talking about" she said firmly. The guy shrugged his shoulder and slowly walked closer to her and she refused to be shaken by his sudden closeness and stood her ground. She raised her face and met his eyes, trying to not get distracted by his handsome face.

"You told me that I would definitely forget you after that day which I was skeptical about but it seems like you weren't saying that without basis looking at how you act like you don't know me at all."

"It's because I don't, I'm not acting at all." she reiterated.

"No worries, I Believe you."

"Then why continue on this nonsense?" she said suppressing herself from rolling her eyes.

"It's because it doesn't mean I'm wrong, I'm not certain yet about what's going on but I'll figure it out soon honey." this time Leona can't help showing a frown on her face. How can this guy be so shameless?

"Who's your honey?" he laughed at her expression, she never failed to amuse him.

"You were the first to call me honey remember? oh right you don't remember." he said coldly, his smile left his face.

'And how dare you not have any recollection of me and trample on my ego any chance you get?' Annoyed by the situation, he leaned to her neck and bit on it.

Leona gasped in surprise and in reflex she pushed and thrown a punch on his jaw in a jiffy, she's extremely mad now. How can anyone anger a person to this extent? She's still not contented with what she did and was about to throw another punch but the guy has already composed himself and just catched her fist with one hand as if it's nothing. He held his jaw with his other hand and massaged it for a bit before he gave her a smirk.

"I just wanted to confirm for the nth time that it's you, your scent I never smelled that on someone else's before."

"Jerk, you just sexually assaulted me. I won't let you get away with it."

"We did more than that tho" Xavier pulled her by her fist "And honey, I'm only like this with you. You've been quite a seductress the first time we met now I can't get enough of you, you have to take responsibility."
