From the day everyone learned of Mare's existence, they didn't interfere with the Kingdom's work with the Ruins and Labrinth. They knew the Kingdom was just protecting them; otherwise, the beasts in the ruins would have annihilated who knows how many villages and towns.
However, there were still some people who thought this was just propaganda of the Kingdom to keep everyone away from the Ruins.
They were the ones who tried to sneak in again and were caught. Still, some managed to get past, only to get the same ending as others.
Being torn in pieces by the sharp pincers of those beasts or being eaten alive.
