Chapter 10

The goblins wielded their wooden clubs intending to smash the papers. However, instead of smashing the paper, it was actually their clubs that suffered

As if the papers were sharp knives, they cut the wooden clubs in half. The cut areas were extremely smooth as if they were cut with the sharpest tool in the world

That just further fueled Kami's arrogance and his nose reaches the skies

Puchi!

Blood spurts around as the papers don't only have the sharpness to cut the wooden clubs. The goblins' skin and even their exoskeleton were within their capacity

Out of the six goblins that Kami encountered five of them died on the spot with their heads decapitated. Blood splashed and dyed the ground with a red color

"Hmm? You actually survived?"

Kami was seemingly offended that one of the goblins survived his attack. With the thousands of goblins living on the continent, there are some of them that have the effect of scaring people that heard their names. However, they are generally a weak race

As a Noble with overflowing pride Kami does not like the fact that a creature from a weak race was able to survive his attack

"Hmph! You will still die!" He said before waving his hand

More papers detached themselves from the notebook. Approximately 1/4 of the papers on that notebook were wielded by Kami and he had them attack that surviving goblin at once

"Human. Angry!" The goblin said, showing that it was angry at the human that killed its kind

Clank! Clank! Clank!

The goblin lets the papers attack it as it is confident of its defenses. The reason why it was able to survive Kami's first attack was thanks to its gift

It was able to change the property of its skin. It originally was green in color just like most goblins but this time it was metallic gray from head to toe

All living creatures in the world possess Divinity and Gifts. Even a race considered weak such as the goblins possessed them. They are not exactly powerless

Just like the first time, the papers were unable to harm the only surviving goblin aside from leaving some scratch marks on it

As a result, Kami's cheeks turned red from shame. He had killed many goblins in the past and people viewed him as the greatest genius in the Viscounty. He didn't expect that a mere goblin would 'shame' him like this

While it was true that Kami can be considered a genius he is someone that is sheltered and lacks experience

The goblins and other creatures he fought in the past were all regulated by his family. After all, his father would not let his only son and heir be in danger

This was the result of the upbringing that Kami had. He was naive and blindly arrogant

"Kekekek! Human weak!" The goblin taunted and that just further enrages the arrogant young man

As a result, Kami aggressively tore a piece of paper from his notebook. His palms were suddenly covered with the blue energy called mana

He crumpled that piece of paper with his palms and when the paper is visible again its shape already changes. From being a flat piece of paper it turned into something similar to a dart. The body was straight but the tip was sharp like the end of an arrow. It could be an arrow but because of the limitation of the paper's size which was also the current limitation of Kami's Gift his paper origami looks more like a dart

With a cold look in his eyes, Kami threw the paper dart at the goblin that was approaching him

"Graaahh!!" The goblin exclaimed in pain and it turned to look at its shoulder

The base form of Kami's papers was unable to penetrate the skin defense of the goblin but his origami in the form of a dart definitely was able to do so

A bleeding hole could be seen on the goblin's shoulder while the paper dart turned into ashes that the wind carried away

"You dare to look down on me? Die!" Kami said arrogantly as he tore more pieces of paper from his notebook

One dart was not enough to satiate his wounded ego. He tore more pieces of paper from his notebook and turned them into paper darts to throw at the goblin

"Ahhk!"

"Ahhk!"

"Ahhk!"

The goblin was powerless against the assault of the paper darts. Its body was soon filled with holes and it died. However, even after it died Kami still formed more paper darts to further disrespect its corpse

"Huff... huff... huff!"

After he was done, Kami started catching his breath. Using the papers in their base form is less taxing than turning them into paper darts. His one-sided battle with that goblin used up a lot of his energy

Kami's forehead and back were sweating heavily due to fatigue. One cannot use their gift without consequence. Overused could lead to extreme fatigue and even death is possible

"Hmph, I'm someone that will soon have a Phoenix as my familiar, a mere goblin cannot hinder my path!" He said arrogantly before he heard an animalistic sound

"Awooo!!"

From the trees, multiple grey wolves suddenly emerged. These grey wolves all look hungry and it seems like they were attracted by the scent of blood from the corpses of the goblins

If Kami killed the goblin and moved immediately he might not encounter this pack of grey wolves. Unfortunately, his arrogance causes him greatly

"Grey wolves!" Kami's eyes trembled. It's not like he hasn't fought grey wolves in the past. In fact, he also has many experiences fighting and killing them. The problem is that he was facing an entire pack with at least fifteen wolves!

Not to mention, when Kami glanced at his notebook the papers on it were less than 1/4 from its maximum capacity. This means that Kami has fewer paper weapons to use

Gifts are not omnipotent and have limitations. The limitation of Kami's Gift is the number of papers he could use in a specific amount of time
