Chapter 23

Masha

The whole pack are mourning. And anyone can feel the sorrow while its thick into the air. Everything seems like a nightmare. And watching Josh lost his brilliance that he have before every passing day is so heartbreaking.

Lo is there for him and even me but I'm sure that its not enough for him. And I am aware that he will never be the same again.

Suddenly my train of thoughts were stop when my phone ring. Fishing it out of my pocket, I answered.

"Hey, can you go out?!" I frown while I pull out the phone away from my ear and glare at it.

"Huh?!" I asked.

I heard him sighed, "Can you go out from that palace.. Geez, I'm outside the gate but a lot of strong looking dude are here stopping me from coming in.."

My eyes widen while I abruptly stood up, and run over the door. "What?!"

"Masha, is there something wrong?" Lo, suddenly walk inside the house and look at me worriedly while I speedily came down the stairs.

"Lo, Toni is here!" I scream, while I run over his arms.

"Toni?!"

I giggle when I saw a hint of jealousy suddenly swirl in his eyes. "Idiot, its Toni. The one I talk to you before, my information broker.."

"Oh.."

I tug his hands, and pull him with me. "Come with me.."

I step outside and speedily walk over the gate while I drag Lo with me. And even though I know that I only saw Toni once in a while he is still someone I can truly trust with my life.

"So is this the really Louis Caine Lexus in flesh.. Not bad Masha, not bad.." A man in his early twenties exclaim when we stop near the gate.

The warriors step out of the way, and I take a good look at him.

Like always he looks the same, he has long silky blonde hair, framing his perfectly sculpted face. Glittering hazel eyes, straight nose and a beauty mark on his right temple. He is also quite tall, around six feet with a lean body.

I cross my arms in front of my chest as I quirk my brows at him, "So is there anymore news?"

His smirk drop while his eyes wonder around the place. "I have news but it will be better if we talk about it privately."

I frown at him, but a moment after my eyes grew big as I look at him. Nervously I tug his arm while my other hand hold Lo's left hand while I pull the two of them inside the house.

"Is it okay here?" I murmur silently when we came in Lo's office as I locked the door.

"Wait..wait.. I'm a little lost here, what's going on?!" Lo exclaimed, with an annoyed face while he sit on his chair.

Toni, sighed tiredly as he sat down too in one of the coaches while I stand beside Lo.

"You're being watched.. Damn for being a werewolf you didn't see that coming..."

Lo's nostrils flare when Toni said that, and he might have strangle him if I'm not there to hold him down.

"Lo, just relax. Let Toni explain everything.."

Toni just shrugged his shoulder and roll his eyes, "Sorry about that wolf guy. I mean you can't possibly know everything anyways.. Well to cut it short your enemy Lance Knight is a powerful guy on the Underworld. He came from the influential Knight Family after all. A powerful mafia family in the Southern America." Toni states, then after a while he open his bag and take out a black envelope and gave it to us.

Lo open the envelope and take out the pictures and documents inside, my eyes grew big while I shudder from fear.

"They are dangerous, and the most frightening thing is; like our agency they also know a lot of Supernatural beings. And it seems that they really want you dead Louis Caine Lexus.."

There are an awkward silence engulf us, while we let the information that Toni told us to sink in our minds.

Thinking about it, we really don't have a chance if they ever choose to fight as with everything they've got. I brought my hands on Lo's shoulder that I don't even notice were already shaking.

Lo suddenly whirl and face me, he look at me with understanding while he hug my waist. "I love you Masha, just don't forget.."

I sling my arms around his neck and lean my head over him, touching his forehead with mine. "I know.."

We become lost in our own world, while the time seems to stop.

"Hey guys.. I'm still here.. And I think your forgetting something.."

I pull away from Lo, and glance up at Toni.

"And what is it?" I huff, quite irritated.

Toni smirk at me, as he lean his back on the chair while he crossed his legs. "Well, you forget about what I said before, that they are watching you."

I perk up, and Lo suddenly turn his full attention at Toni. "Now that you said it, can you tell us what you meant by that?" Lo asked.

Toni scoff, stood up and walk over us. "They have full access with NASA, and sadly they are using the global sattelites to spy over your every moves. Not to add, that they have a lot of spies all over the country watching and studying each and every single person living in this compound. And lastly.. " He stop and took out his phone and my eyes widen when he show us the picture of the woman we all familiar with.

"Shanna Sola, your ex fiancee were seen having dinner with this guy.. Lance Knight the one who put a bounty on your head. And if I remember correctly, she is a former member of the Shadow Pack in Egypt. And have been conspiring with some rogues who wanted to extort money on you before.." Toni stopped talking and look at us, with fear filled eyes. "And if my deductions are right, and they really joined their forces then you need to be extra careful because I'm sure that whatever their planning to do, is something big.. And it might be very lethal for the both of you.."

My breathing hitch, and my mind grew numb while I look at him with disbelief.

Looking down at Lo I saw him ball his fist tightly, turning his knuckles white.

I wanted to comfort him but someone suddenly knock on the door, while Darrel's voice called us.

"Hey, Masha! Lo! Please open the door!" I abruptly walk over to the door and open it.

I'm greeted by the crying face of Darrel. "What happened?!" I asked, anxiously.

"Its Josh..."

He's name is enough for us to start to panicked. Lo abruptly stood up, his face is full of concern while he came over at us as we begin to walk and followed behind Darrel.

"Hey, where are you guys going?" Toni asked, as he begins to follow us too.

I don't even have the chance to talk when we heard Josh scream echoed all over the place.

"What the heck?! What's wrong with him?!" Toni exclaimed.

"He's mate died.." Lo state through gritted teeth as he begins to walk over his friend.

"Oh..." Toni mouthed with understanding.

Suddenly, Josh stop thrashing as his eyes start to wonder around, while he sniff the air. After a while his eyes stop at us. And my breathing hitch when I saw his eyes change from its original color to gold.

Everyone stop talking while they wait to everything to unfold. And it seems that everyone is holding their breath while they watch Josh nervously as he slowly stood up and hobble over us.

"J-josh??" Lo ask anxiously while he walk beside him. But Josh doesn't seem to heard him while he continue walking.

Then he stopped, and look at Toni who is holding at my arm while he watch Josh with fear.

Josh nostrils flare while he snarl angrily at me. My jaw totally drop on the floor when out of the blue he suddenly pull Toni away from me and let out an angry growl while he said the words that I won't ever believe will be possible...

"Mate!! Don't you dare touch my mate!" He sneer menacingly at me as he hold Toni tightly on his waist.

Huh?! What the fuck happened?!
