Chapter One

Ava wiped a bead of sweat from her face with the back of her hand. She went on scrubbing the tiles. Her long flowing blonde hair was tied up. Ava had apple green gemstone eyes, her skin was beautiful,  her cheeks had a permanent rosy pink blush, her lips pink and plump. She was beautiful yet she rejected every man thus far in her 2 years as a maid in the Imperial palace. "Ava, did you hear that His highness concubine is visiting? I heard that she's just a pretty face" Melanie smiled smugly. Her red hair was styled up fashionably and her face was plastered with makeup. "That's not a very nice thing to say about someone you don't know " Ava Said and went back to work. "Oh, I forgot that Ava and his highness Concubine are alike after all you both are just pretty faces" she giggled. Emperor Jacques leaned against the wall and heard the conversation. Will walked up to him and opened his mouth to say something but he motioned him to stay quiet. "I'm glad that Melanie thinks that I have a pretty face however you should not say such offensive things to hid highness " she smiled cheerfully.  Melanie snapped her tongue. "it was not a compliment you stupid and I can talk How I like " she his. "if you are done talking you can finish up –" "Hold on you can't let me do this alone" she said firmly. "You just have to clean that portion, I already did the rest" she said calmly. "Huh? Your cheating!" She yelled. "I have kitchen duty now so excuse me" she said calmly and attempted to leave but Melanie tripped her causing her to fall in a bucket of water and spill it. Will frowned and clinched his fist. "oops looks like you have more work" she smirked. Ava Said nothing and stood up tall.  "You best clean this up-" "Melanie, Ava what's going on?" Madame Jessica asked firmly. "Madame Jessica " Melanie said surprised and bowed. "I believe I asked a question " she said firmly.  "I tripped accidentally, I apologise " Ava said calmly. Melanie fumed at her sympathy but bite  her tongue and clinched her fist. "tripped? Are you hurt?" She asked concerned. "Thank you for your concern Madame Jessica but I'm perfectly fine " she  smiled cheerfully. "I'm glad to hear that, its 12:33 and you are late for your laundry duty so hurry to the laundry room " she said. "Yes ma'am " she said and left. "Melanie, Did Ava trip or did you trip her on purpose because you wanted her to do your chores?" She asked firmly. "Madame Jessica how can you ask that?" She asked innocently and cried. "Let's say for arguments sake Ava did trip by accident however Melanie you should know that Ava is here for 2 years. In that two years she worked hard and sincere and even the some of senior maids grew to respect her. She maybe be  naïve and happy-go-lucky but it doesn't mean that you should take advantage of her good nature. Now for arguments sake let's say that you tripped her. Most of the staff will be upset with you for doing such a thing and start to ignore you however Ava is not the sort of person to  put someone in trouble even if it's that's persons fault." She said. Melanie's lips parted slightly. "But I'd never do such a thing " she said with tears in her eyes. "You don't have to defend yourself to this point I didn't say that I don't believe you.  Now finish up" she said calmly. Melanie realized that she fell to her plan and nodded. She went back to work.

Madame Jessica walked away. She saw the Emperor and Will watching. "Your Highness " she bowed. "Nana, it seems like you took care of things without knowing what happened, " he said. His blonde hair was messy yet attractive as always, his blue eyes were cold and distant and his lips formed an uninterested frown. "I don't need to be here to know what happened. I thought that I thought his highness that by now. If you know a person's true character then you'd know how to approach situations thrown by him or her" she said firmly.  Jacques said nothing and turned around. "The blonde girl's ankle was swollen. Seeing as you care so deeply for her you should check it out" he said. She smiled gently. "You grew up well", she said and bowed as he left. Ava sat on the stool and scrubbed their clothes. Ava wiped a bead of sweat on the back of her sleeve. "with all this work I'd never make it to my date" Emma sighed. "You're going on another date?" Ava asked curiously. "That's right, Dan is an angel " she gushed. Ava smiled cheerfully. "If you are in a hurry, I could do your chores " she smiled. "you mean it?" She gushed. She smiled cheerfully and nodded. "Thank you,  thank you, Thank you, Ava. I owe you big time" She gushed and hugged her tight. "It's no problem " she smiled. The maids left for lunch just as soon as they finished. Ava sat alone in the room and went back to work as soon as she was done she went outside to dry the clothes. "Ava Why didn't you go to lunch?" Amy asked firmly and put her hands on her hips. "I'm not hungry" she smiled cheerfully and dried the clothes. Jacques walked through the gardens with Lady Irene hand in hand. "this place is beautiful Your Highness " she smiled cheerfully. "right" he said uninterested. Irene spotted the maid doing the laundry. "we should go there. I can't wait to see my subjects" she smiled fake. "I didn't say I'm marrying you" he said uninterested. "Your funny Your Highness " she laughed as they approached.

"Your such a pushover, let me help you" she sighed and helped Ava. The pink haired girl cleared her throat and smirked. Amy and Ava looked at her. Ava met the eyes of the emperor. His lips parted slightly at the sight of the beauty in front of him. Ava's long hair danced in the light breeze. She was truly a sight to behold. Ava watched the handsome man. 'What the actual hell? This is thee Jacques, the father if Lewis from the manhwa I will be Emperor.' She mentally yelled. "Your Highness " Amy said nervously and bowed. Ava mirrored her best friend's actions. The man blinked breaking out of the daydream. It's as if she enchanted him just by looking at her. "As you were" he said firmly and left. "Your Highness wait " Lady Irene said dramatically and followed. "his highness is handsome " Amy smiled cheerfully and turned around. She saw Ava sitting on the ground and holding her head, she was a girl Maryann in her past life and she died in an accident but yet  ended up in this manhwa! She got an isekai. In the manhwa, there's no mention of Ava so she's just a side character. Does that mean I will die when Jacques snaps after his love Ariel dies in childbirth? I don't want to die again' she thought. "Are you alright?" Amy asked concerned and she heard her mumbling. 'Wait I'll leave when he meets Ariel. Haha until then I'll Stay on his good side' she smiled proudly thinking of her master plan. Amy looked at her smiling like a mad woman. "Ava , snap out of it!" Amy said firmly and shook her shoulder. "Sorry, I was just thinking about something " she said. "lets finish up quickly. You need to eat something" she said. She smiled cheerfully and nodded.
