I Became Her

" I want to be your equal." Layla's voice in a nonchalant way. " I will not ask for anything but your power and your status. We will be equal in court and in the eyes of the people." Layla said emotionless. " I really need to do this so that father will trust me on handling this kingdom. Or else this beautiful place will be massacred. Father sent too many spies to show weakness." Layla thought. The truth is her father wanted the big water supply that is beside this kingdom and she have heard his plan to massacre this beautiful peaceful land but she is waiting for someone, this place cannot be destroyed yet until that person appears.

Layla heard of a prince from her cousin Aisha, living in that kingdom. Aisha is five years older than her so she first went to the royal university, she have a friend who is a lover of that prince. Layla took the chance to plead the political alliance between two kingdoms. She knew how her father loves her, he will do anything for her. At first her father is suspicious because she is not friendly enough to know the prince in the opposite kingdom. " Actually I saw him from far away... He immediately stole my heart , Father." Layla said. " You are right. You are already in the right age of marriage." the king said.

For Layla's plan to succeed she sent a secret letter to the king of the opposite kingdom " Accept the king's proposal or be massacred" . At the same time , the messenger of king from the opposite kingdom arrives proposing the marriage . The father of Blake of course decided to save his people.

Then on the day of the wedding, Sofia , Blake's lover took her own life. No honeymoon happened and it is the start where Blake became cold towards Layla. There was a rumor that she is the reason that Sofia took her life because someone saw them talking the day before the wedding. " Is it true? What did you told to Sofia?" Blake in a gentle voice. " I told her that if she wanted to become a queen , wait for her next life. " Layla answered emotionless. " She is a sweet sensitive girl. She loves me and I love her! Why? why----?!" Blake was trying to supressed his anger. " Since it came to this point, I will tell you my rules. I want to be your equal. I will not ask for anything but your power and your status. We will be equal in court and in the eyes of the people." Layla said emotionless. Layla knew the next days will be hard for her knowing that this kingdom has a lot of power struggle inside and outside the court. In her father's kingdom her father shows violence and death to maintain balance inside the court and outside. So she will use this method for this kingdom not to fall while waiting for someone.

Layla is right, the power of rebels are rising in numbers because Blake trust the court too much . He focused in livelihood , building more houses for the people and improving machineries in farming while Layla is focused in gathering evidences for the traitors. She even found out that Sofia is poisoned for the reason that they wanted Blake to back out on the wedding day since it is a threat if the two kingdom will become one.

Right in front of the palace she makes the husband and wife who poisoned Sofia drank poison to warn the rebel on harming any royal family members. The people are terrified of her not knowing her intentions. She have a nickname Terror Princess.

Another incident is when the pregnant concubine of the king tried to frame Layla but she found out that the baby inside her belly is not a royal blood. Without thinking twice she let her drank a medecine to remove the fetus. The concubine became crazy and point at her blaming her but Layla shut her mouth not to tell any word about the concubine's secret.

For everyday, Layla is waiting in a flower garden near a cliff. Waiting and waiting for someone to arrive. Until one time she went there and someone is following her. The man with a mask stabs her and then run away.

Back to present" Since Aisha is here, we should eat dinner together. She is still your cousin regarding what happens." Blake said to her after Dr. David went out of the room. " Okay. " Layla answered. Blake is a bit surprised because before Layla never wanted to see Aisha. "It seems that she is still in shock." Blake thought. Daniella is hesitating while pouting. " What is it? You're pouting makes me uneasy." Blake is irritated. " Well you see... after the stabbing incident I don't remember some of the things because of the shock. So can you leave me someone who really knew me before? Like my friend? or anyone? " Daniella smiled forcefully like a fool. " You don't have a close friend nor a trusted one by your side. " Blake answered seriously. " So I will ask straight, you are my husband right? so, how do we call each other? darling ? honey? " she asked curiosly. " I call you Lyla and you call me Blake." he said observing her if this is one of her scheme. " Is it like in the novels that political alliance or arranged marriage that they called?! Woah! That explains why he is cold towards me ! That would be easier! At least no lovey dovey time with this mister!" Daniella thought.

The dinner is intense and full of murderous stare from Blake. " How are you cousin? " Aisha ask first. " Alive from the stab wound..." Daniella was supposed to joke. " You are lucky . Comparing to those who died because of you. " Aisha became harsh. " Just how villain is this character I'm in?!" Daniella thought. " Oh Am I? " Daniella snorted. " You are having a good life that is supposedly for someone! Are you happy?!" Aisha snap.Daniella did not reply because Aisha is emotional. " Aisha can we not talk about Sofia right now? " Blake said with authority. Daniella saw how Blake eyes became soft when he say the name Sofia. " Oh! Triangle love story I supposed. I really need to talk to the maids about this setting. " Daniella thought.

After dinner the two maids infront of the door were invited by Daniella for a cup of tea. " Come sit down . Sit down!.I will pour you a cup of tea. " Daniella pour for them. The two maids look at each other with confusion. " No problem I will not tell Blake that you have tea with me. No need to be afraid. " Daniella assured them . But the look in their eyes are saying we are more afraid of you.

" Well you see, after I am stab I have a temporary memory loss according to doctor. So can you tell some stories in this house ...." Daniella asked the maid and they have a chat the whole night.

That same night a secret visitor have a chat with Blake. " Now is the time to start our plan while the princess is not yet sober from her injury. " the voice said. " She brought this to herself." He sighed. " The 2 new concubine will be a balance for the power that she holds inside the palace. " The voice again spoke.

Tomorrow morning , Blake spoke to Daniella while having breakfast. " I heard he always ignored Layla? What is his deal for today? " Daniella thought. " Since you are sick and still in shock , you need some help managing all the things inside the palace. I have a childhood friends and they are willing to be my concubine to help in the palace. " Blake explains. " So he just wanted to get married to have more wives! As expected from the prince and kings like in the novel! Tsk.tsk.tsk. And here I thought he is a normal one. Tsk.tsk.tsk. Womanizer pig!" Daniella thought. " Okay. As you want. " she simply said.

In five days the concubines are now living in the palace. Daniella call them the tall concubine since Ella is tall and Wella the short concubine because she is short. They help her in managing most of the palace work like managing the money and the distribution of maids etc...

During the day Daniella is busy to learn about things in the palace and during the night she is busy to think on how she can go back. " No one is waiting for me there, no one even probably noticed that I am gone." it pop up in her thought one night.

Daniella during her teenager year. " Hey I said I like you." one boy confessed his feelings to her. But she did not feel anything, she didn't say anything but just a straight face. At the orphanage, at the young age they are taught to do house chores and be independent so maybe that is why she was matured and practical at her age. She wanted to earn money to get out of the orphanage and have a happy family.

The next day the boy treated Daniella as if she doesn't exist.But it didn't bother her, she is more afraid to loose her scholarship than enter in puppy love relationship. Money, Career and her future are her priority.

Now the lady whom she believes she have possessed have everything she wanted , power, money and a husband to start a family with. But according to the maid, this Lady Layla also is scary. She is hated by all especially by her so called husband. Daniella did not understand why fate have chosen her to be her out of all the people out there. How will she handle all the hatred of the people around her.

" Your highness what do you think? " Ella is talking about something while Daniella have a deep thought about her world. " Do as you fit it is. " she answered while not interested and smiled sweetly.

Daniella decided to go out of the palace to learn new things. She have a habbit of knowing everything first before planning everything. Her two personal maids came with her in a carriage.

" The kingdom is blessed with all fruits and vegetables. It is also green compared to your kingdom, Your highness..." the maid is very proud but she immediately close her mouth the moment she realize what she said. The maid became scared. " This is your first trip within the kingdom after you got married your highness. You are always busy inside the palace and never bother to come outside. " the other maid said to get out of the topic. " This Layla is really something. " Daniella thought.

Daniella enjoyed the scenery infont of her, the green and clean environment. This is exactly how she imagined her life after she will retired. She plan to buy a house and lot in the province and enjoy the green and clean environment there , but she can't do that now especially that she have entered in this diffirent world.

They are walking in the market when suddenly a boy passed through them while running away from a man who was shouting " A thief! A thief!" the man shouted. Some people catch the boy and give him to the owner of the restaurant while waiting for the marshals.

The boss who is the owner of the restaurant punch the teenager boy until his lips bled. " You ungrateful bastard! I let you work for me but now you have the guts to rob me !" then he kicked the teenager boy angrily. Daniella as her usual self did not care and she ignored the commotion, slowly walking to pass the place. " I work for you for 1 month but for what?! You did not give my salary and for this expired bread that you have put in the garbage you are accusing of me of robbing? " the teenager said in exhausted voice. " It is still my bread regarding what I do with it, Brat! " the restaurant owner punch the kid again.

Daniella heard this. She once work in a convenience store before where the owner did not give her salary saying some of the cash are missing during her shift. It is hard to explain herself but obviously the owner just don't want to give her salary. She knew the feeling of how to be hungry and exhausted . She is a working student.

" I will pay for your expired bread." Daniella shouted. " And who are you?!" the boss is irritated knowing someone is willing to help the teenager boy.
