The opening of the gate
At last, all the flesh from his right arm started to peel off little by little starting from his hand heading towards his shoulder, it was quick yet too slow at the same time.
The peeled off flesh sizzled and turned into a murky liquid before it dripped onto the floor very closer to the door.
However without Jaffery or anyone of the crew knowing, the murky liquid that had dripped onto the floor collected itself and streamed towards a very narrow sill on the floor. This sill was almost inconspicuous and when coupled with the little light that the heavenly flame provided, no one realized its presence.
The liquid followed the path created by the sill until it reached at its destination which was on top of the altar but nothing happened on the altar as it drunk the liquid ravenously. It seemed that a certain amount was needed to either activate the altar or when it was satisfied, maybe the door would unlock itself.
