"Something's wrong!"
"Minami Takayama has been kidnapped!"
In front of the café, the Mouri Town mischief squad watched the departing van, their faces filled with panic.
Conan's expression turned grim as he watched the van speed away, his glasses reflecting an unusual glint of white light.
At that moment, the familiar roar of an engine echoed in front of him.
Conan then saw a familiar Ford Taurus speeding past.
"Fujino?!"
Conan stared at the passing Taurus, momentarily stunned.
He instantly recognized the driver.
It had to be Fujino!
In all of Mouri Town, no one else drove a Ford Taurus except Fujino!
"Fujino, wait for me!"
Conan waved his hand frantically, "Fujino! Damn it..."
It was clear his shouting didn't catch Fujino's attention.
"What is Fujino up to?"
Conan watched the two departing vehicles, his face a mixture of confusion and frustration.
Earlier, Fujino definitely noticed him.
But he didn't stop...
Damn it, what on earth is Fujino planning?
...
The weather grew gloomy, and a torrential downpour began.
The air was filled with the smell of rain, making it slightly unpleasant.
Raindrops pelted the windshield, only to be quickly wiped away by the wipers.
Trailing the van, Fujino arrived at a two-story abandoned car factory.
"So, this is the place?"
Parking the car a short distance away, Fujino walked towards the abandoned factory.
Through his visual glasses, he saw the van he had been following earlier.
At that moment, the van's door opened.
Minami Takayama and Shiina Nagano were bound tightly.
One kidnapper led the way, while the other, holding a gun, threatened them as they slowly walked to the second floor of the factory.
"A gun, huh, a bit troublesome."
Fujino clicked his tongue as he watched the armed kidnapper.
A gun was still somewhat problematic for him at this stage.
But only a bit.
As long as the mind is steady, solutions will always outnumber problems.
For Fujino, armed with his system's hacks, a gun was only as threatening as the idiot holding it.
If the kidnapper was just a brainless thug, the gun was nothing more than a useless piece of metal.
...
Quietly, he made his way to the back of the abandoned building.
Fujino grabbed the edge of a drainpipe and, with the help of his Elderly Shoes, agilely climbed to the rooftop.
Standing atop the building, the pouring rain soaked through Fujino's coat.
He didn't care about the slight chill from the drenched coat.
In the past, getting caught in such heavy rain would surely make him ill.
But things were different now.
With multiple career enhancements and the improvement from the constitution fruit, Fujino had become a true man who could fight all night and still be full of energy the next day!
Soaked in rain, Fujino walked to the edge of the roof, took out a mirror from his pocket.
He extended his hand past the edge, using the mirror's reflection to observe the room below through a window.
At that moment, Minami Takayama and Shiina Nagano were tied up in the corner of the room.
Only one of the two suspects remained, sitting in a chair in the middle of the room, seemingly slacking off.
Retracting his gaze, Fujino glanced at his heads-up display.
Following its guidance, he looked down.
The armed kidnapper was now driving the van away, the red dot blinking on his display.
"A great opportunity."
Watching the departing vehicle, Fujino pulled a strength enhancement card from his space, crushing it.
[Strength Enhancement 200%, countdown: 599 seconds]
He then pulled an endless red rope from his space and tied it to a nearby rooftop vent.
After securing the rope to his waist with a figure-eight knot, Fujino approached the wall.
Taking out the mirror, he confirmed the kidnapper was still in the second-floor room.
Next, he grabbed the wooden sword from his neck, held it in one hand, and clutched the red rope with the other, leaping down.
In midair, his black figure traced a beautiful arc.
Halfway down, Fujino spun around.
He raised the wooden sword in his right hand and thrust it towards the window below.
"Crash!"
The glass shattered as the wooden sword pierced through.
With shards of glass flying inside, a black figure, like a phantom, burst into the room, landing steadily on the floor.
"?"
The kidnapper, hearing the noise, turned to see Fujino breaking in, momentarily stunned.
Seizing the moment, Fujino untied the red rope from his waist, grabbed his wooden sword, and struck the kidnapper.
"Bang! Bang bang!"
"Ah! Ah!"
The wooden sword in Fujino's hand swung continuously.
Each swing accompanied by a swoosh, followed by a painful wail.
Minami Takayama and Shiina Nagano, watching the scene, were dumbfounded.
To them, it looked like a trench coat-wearing maniac was crazily beating a man lying on the ground, holding his head in agony.
The scene was terrifying.
Had they not just been kidnapped, they wouldn't know who the real villain was.
Under their watchful eyes, Fujino raised his wooden sword high and smashed it down on the kidnapper's head.
With a hollow thud echoing through the room, the kidnapper let out a final wail before falling silent.
Checking the kidnapper, Fujino found him unconscious, his pupils dilated and eyeballs bloodshot.
Only then did Fujino turn around, wipe the sweat off his temples, and approach Minami Takayama and Shiina Nagano.
Ripping the tape from their mouths, Minami Takayama, coming out of her shock, asked in surprise, "Detective Fujino, why are you here?"
"Let's talk after this is over..."
Fujino untied their ropes, "You two need to escape and call the police."
"What about you?"
As they reached the door, Minami Takayama suddenly turned back to ask.
"I still have to catch the other guy."
Fujino glanced at the red dot on his system interface, "Hurry, there's no time."
"Got it... be careful, the other guy has a gun."
Though confused by Fujino's actions, Minami Takayama followed Shiina Nagano out.
She realized that instead of hindering Fujino, she could help by calling the police.
