The Past Catching Up

The night was peaceful in Vienna.

The city was in peace without being aware of the ever watching eyes of a tyrannical organization, which kept them from learning the truth of the world.

[ Location: Schicksal Headquarters ]

In a room of the flying headquarters, a lone man whose blonde hair reached his back sat on his chair.

Slowly swirling a glass of wine in his left hand while his right hand held a tablet.

His green eyes seemed to reflect the light as he gazed upon the contents of the tablet.

He let out an audible chuckle as he spoke slowly to himself.

"K-342, you will soon understand your role in this grand play..."

After speaking, he let out yet another chuckle as he drank the remainder of his wine.

"Amber, can you please refill the glass?"

After finishing the glass of what could be the most luxurious wine, he asked his dearest assistant to refill the glass.

The white haired lady standing beside him who had a mask on her face, the ever loyal assistant of Otto Apocalypse who was the Arch Bishop of the world spanning organisation called Schicksal, nodded her head heeding the call of her master.

Holding a bottle of wine, she came forward and poured the liquor inside it in the glass.

"Thank you for your good service."

Otto smiled sweetly at his dearest assistant.

Amber didn't reply and went back to her initial position while Otto Apocalypse continued to watch something in the tablet in his hand.

The video showed a footage of Kate and Bronya before they entered the vent.

He made the screen zoom in towards Kate's face, and a smirk made its way onto his face as he looked at her.

"Soon, you will..."

[ Location: Soukai City ]

The sound of a car engine sounded alongside many others.

The yellow car was going towards the hotel that Kate had previously stayed at.

Paying the taxi driver, the strawberry blonde haired girl climbed out of the car.

"...."

Staring at the hotel for a while, she woke up to reality and entered.

"I had booked a room. Check for the name Juliana Alexander."

Not wasting any time, the employee checked through the computer for that name and soon found it.

"Here is your key ma'am. 6th floor room 3"

The girl, now known as Juliana, nodded and went towards the elevator.

As the elevator started moving towards the designated floor, she looked at a photo on her mobile and muttered something that was not heard.

Ding!

The sound of the elevator stopping resounded, and Juliana had finally reached her room.

Looking around for a bit, she directly went to the bathroom and checked it.

"Hm, this toilet is good."

Nodding while looking at the advanced level toilet, she left the bathroom and dropped her bag on the floor, and soon looked through the attached balcony.

"Heh~? St.Freya can be seen from this room clearly, huh?"

In the distance, surrounded by a lake, on top of the only artificial island in Soukai City, was the all too well-known St.Freya.

"The last time I met her was during Christmas Eve. I think she is on a mission right now?"

Looking at the Far-East Headquarters, Juliana smiled.

"Hehehe~, I wonder when I will meet Kate again."

Room 2: Designated for Retrieving Bravo ]

"The mission is proceeding smoothly, huh?"

A voice resounded from the chair, which was reserved for the highest ranking member.

A girl who seemed too small for that position was the one who spoke.

Crossing her legs, the white-haired, little looking girl draped in a nun uniform kept her gaze directed at the screen, which was showing 1st person point of view of the valkyries who were undertaking the mission.

"Kate has the qualities to be a natural leader. The only drawback is her own lack of self-confidence in some cases."

A woman with red hair and amber eyes spoke this time.

"Indeed. And it seems Mei is still suffering from the trauma of the 3rd Honkai Impact."

They continued doing this talk while their eyes were focused on the screen.

"Bronya is doing well, and about Kiana..."

Theresa smiled a little awkwardly, and Himeko sighed.

"She has the talent to do it, but Kiana suffers from indecisiveness and a lack of resolve.

Only Kate and Mei can make her work to her bone. Kate, by using her weak points, which ironically is Mei."

Theresa spoke with a twitchy smile, and Himeko could only sigh.

The screen showed Mei fighting a guard in Kiana's POV.

Currently, they were engaged in combat.

"They will be easily able to defeat those small fries."

Theresa rested her cheek in her hand while speaking while Himeko kept her eyes on the screen.

They were not the only ones in the room. Several other officials were present as well.

But we ain't focusing on them.

While different screens showed different Valkyries, Himeko caught a glimpse of a shade of brown hair in Mei's cam.

"Principal-!"

"I know." Cutting Himeko off, Theresa spoke with a solemn tone while looking at the figure with narrowed eyes.

Then, at that moment, she saw that girl smiling.

A sweet smile, which is dangerous...

"Link me to Kate and Kiana! NOW!"

Theresa was alerted seeing that dangerous smile and ordered her subordinates to link her up with her nieces.

The scene that greeted Kate and Bronya was something that neither of them expected.

"Um...Bronya-san.You did say that nobody was here, right?"

"Da..." Bronya nodded, with some shock reflecting in her eyes.

"Then... what the fuck are those?!" Kate almost lost her posture and blurted out, pointing at many red eyes shining in the dark.

Slowly, it seemed, those eyes were coming closer, and both of the girls finally got a good look of the owners of the eyes.

'Wait a great minute, why do these security guards not look like they are for security at all?! That chilly air around them is just like-'

From the looks of the guards, they for sure are not for security.

Both Kate and Bronya started backing up, but Kate suddenly looked like she had a sudden realisation of who these soldiers were.

'Why the hell do they look like... L-Like the Wolf Brigade?!'

Unwanted memories from the past flowed into her mind.

Those red vampire like eyes.

An armour entirely composed of dark colours.

Unhesitant to kill even infants.

They were cold and ruthless killers.

At that moment, Theresa's alarmed voice echoed in her mind.

«Kate! Kiana! Can you hear me! Kate - Bzz..»

The connection as soon as it started, was soon cutted off.

BaDump! BaDump!

Kate's heartbeat seemed to echo throughout the room.

Her eyes wide, and her hand shaking.

The only thing she could think of was.
