CHAPTER 9: ROOMMATE
Priscilla went with the class 1-A representative while Hawk and I went with the class 1-B.
"I am Faye, I was tasked to tour you two around," the woman introduced herself in a lively manner.
"I am Havoc-hafu and this is Andromeda. We'll be in your care," Hawk answered. Nice, Hawk. Sometimes I think Hawk is my real master because Hawk seems to understand me most of the time, and Priscilla do not.
Faye's cheeks turned red when Hawk smiled. See? Even this girl understood how dangerous Hawk is. I glared at Hawk and he looked at me confused. Tsk. This guy does not get it.
"Can I call you Havoc?" Faye asked which Hawk nodded.
Faye toured us around and told us the basic information about the school. She also told us what each of the buildings are for and where to go when we encounter an emergency.
"Let's go to the dining hall, it's almost lunch." She looked at her pocket watch. We followed her to where the dining hall is. In this school, all students eat at the same time, and all of them eat at the dining hall. The hall is basically just a big room with so many tables and chairs. Above, there are chandeliers and on top of the table are a variety of dishes, plates, and utensils.
When we arrived, some attention were on us. We also saw Priscilla talking to the class 1-A representative while eating. We sat on an empty chair on the class 1-B table. There are long tables for each class. All tables have the same food and drinks.
All the students in the dining hall are wearing their uniforms just like Faye. We were the only ones not wearing one and that seems to garner attention.
"Are they the newcomers?" one of the class 1-B asked.
"Yes, they're Havoc and Andromeda," Faye answered as she introduced us.
"Nice to meet you," Hawk greeted and I just bowed.
"I am Catherine and this is Ruel," a girl said while pointing at the timid guy beside her.
"N-nice to me-meet you," the guy stuttered out of shyness. Catherine smiled.
We ate the food on the table. Because of my human senses, I tasted the food like an actual human. When I was a cat, I didn't like the smell of some foods and only the fish and meat were tasty for me.
When we were done, Faye accompanied us to where our dormitory is. Faye even helped me carry my stuffs, actually all my stuffs. She seemed to have something to say about it but she chose not to. Not that I mind. Hawk was about to carry them but Faye informed us that girls' dorm is different from boys' so Hawk cannot enter the girls'.
We first dropped Hawk to his dorm and then went to mine. We knocked at the door of the room where I will be staying. A girl with annoyed expression welcomed us.
"Hi, Sarah. I'm just dropping off Andromeda here," Faye greeted. Sarah glanced down at me and back to Faye.
"My new room—" before Sarah could even finish her sentence, I entered the room.
The room is organized, it has two beds and two closets and one bathroom. This is quite nice. Faye followed me with an apologetic look towards the stunned Sarah.
"Andromeda, you should at least greet your roommate, you know," Faye said as she helped me unpack my clothes. Right, Faye never heard me say a word. I let her do all the work while I explored the room.
I put my clothes in the closet when Faye was done arranging them according to type, and jumped on my bed. I waved goodbye to Faye and was about to sleep when Sarah talked.
"U-uh hi. I am Sarah, I'll be your roommate from now on," she introduced herself. She's different now from when we knocked the door. She must've felt embarrassed earlier.
I just nodded and turned back at her, whose mouth fell open.
I fell asleep and completely ignored Sarah's presence.
"Andromeda! Wake up! We're heading to the dining hall." Sarah woke me up when it's already dark.
I fixed my clothes and hair and followed her towards the dining hall. We sat along the class 1-Bs. Hawk, who just arrived, sat down beside me with his room mate.
"Andromeda, is your room good for you?" Hawk asked. Sarah also looked at him.
"Yes, how about you?" I answered. Sarah stood up from her seat and looked at me with disbelief. Hawk and everyone at the table was startled.
"So you can talk?!" She got all attentions to her then Hawk looked at her with 'what are you talking about' look then looked at me with 'what happened?' look.
"My, of course Andromeda can talk," Faye answered. "She just talks to the person she's comfortable with." Faye grabbed a piece of fish and put on my plate. She must've noticed my preference earlier.
Sarah sat down but still has the look on her face like I betrayed her.
The dinner was done and Hawk and I separated again from each other. I learned that Hawk's dorm mate is a demi-human named Austin and Faye's dorm mate is Mary.
Sarah and I headed to our room. I immediately went to the bathroom to wash. My hair was hard to wash because they're long so I took a while. Sarah then went after I was done.
I changed into a white up-to-knee dress. Almost all the clothes I picked were dresses because not only they are easy to hang and organize, they are easy to pack, too.
I dried my hair using towel for a really long time. A world without blow-dry sucks.
"Let me dry your hair," Sarah offered and stepped close to me. She put his hands above my head and from there, a warm air came out.
"What type of magic do you use, Andromeda?" she asked while drying my hair.
I didn't know how to answer so I just said, "Charm."
"I see, so that's why you don't talk or smile much," Sarah said. Whew! That was random.
When Sarah finished drying my hair, we immediately went to bed. I will start taking classes tomorrow, huh?
