Two versus Thousands

Jessica and Liang Ri entered the Boss Room. Inside is total darkness and total silence. Their breaths can be heard because it echoes. Liang Ri is sensing an aura that she cannot fathom. Fear is the only description of her current feeling. Jessica said, "The Boss is up ahead. They're the dangerous being in this dungeon. Never underestimate them." Liang Ri silently nods.

They begin walking forward. Liang Ri is feeling the pressure because of the unknown energy lingering around the air. Jessica notices this. "Would you want to hold my hand?" asked Jessica respectfully. "N-no, I am fine." said Liang Ri with a forced smile. Jessica doubts it and suggests that she will take the lead. Liang Ri disagree but she got reasoned with because of her condition. Strangely enough, Jessica is unaffected from whatever is around them.

They continued to walk until green flames light up the room. The room is a grand throne room. Back there on the throne sits a dead skeleton wearing a ragged robes. Liang Ri is shaken just by looking at it. Jessica takes one step closer and the whole throne room started to shake. "Who dares to enter our domain?" asked by a sinister voice. His aura is filled with malice and agony. This caused Liang Ri to feel restless and panicked.

"Holy Rune Activate!" shouted Jessica while raising her hand with a rune. It shines bright with golden color. It's warmth calmed Liang Ri down. "That spirit stone... I can feel it's light." she said with fascination. "Thank you Jessica. You saved my life." she added then she stood up. This Holy Rune was commonly found in treasure chests. Jessica had huge amount of collection of ruins.

"Wretched child. Thou shall meet thy doom." said the sinister voice. The skeleton begins standing up and green flames burned it. It is not melting it, it is powering it. "The Spirit King. I have heard stories about him. I never thought he is in Golden Deer Ruins all this time. He is dangerous to exist. We must eliminate him." said Liang Ri while nervously holding her sword. "We will and we will be rewarded." said Jessica as she begins choosing her spell.

"Hear me, my servants. Thy master ordered thee to vanquish the insolent lowlives. Seize them!" ordered the Lich King with his mighty authority. The whole place lit up from green flames, revealing thousands of undead surrounding the two heroines. "We're in danger. We need a plan." said Liang Ri. "The Holy Rune will protect you from the corruption. I will fight the Boss head-on, so keep them away from me." said Jessica.

The battle started. Jessica casted Thunderbolt to clear a path to the Lich King. The undead are electrocuted and burned away. Liang Ri is covering the flank and uses "Cleave", a wide cutting slash that hits horizontally. The Lich King sends ghosts to attack Jessica. "Cursed child. Begone!" he shouted.

Jessica cannot deal damage to enemies with no physical matter. But it is a different matter if she used this skill. "Heal!" she shouted as she aimed it towards the ghost. It should heal the ghosts. But these ghosts are classified as undead. The Heal turned into a lethal damage that purified their soul. "Heal is really effective against undead." she said with excitement.

"Insolent lowlives. Thou deserve hell!" the Lich King shouted as he moved his hands. The hand signs are ominous. The ground shakes and plant roots grab hold to both Liang Ri and Jessica. "Ah no! I cannot move!" Jessica shouted in a panic. Liang Ri struggled and broke free from the bondage. She cuts the dead roots to free Jessica. "Keep going." she said.

The battle goes on. Liang Ri is using the health potions to recover her stamina. Jessica is burning every enemies with Thunderbolt and Fireball. The Rock Burst is not much effective against enemies with numbers. There are far too many undead heading their way. Worst of all, they do not give experience for Jessica. "Of course there is no experience. These mobs are summoned monsters!" she shouted out loud.

"Summoned? So you mean we need to kill the Spiritual King to end this calamity." said Liang Ri. She now begins moving up front and helped Jessica clear the way to the left. Jessica followed and burns all enemies to the right. They eventually reached the Lich King.

"How dare you!! This is the sacred ground of Attullah! Your dirty existence do not belong here!!" shouted the Lich King with animosity. "Heal!" shouted Jessica, facing the Lich King. This dealt damage to the Lich King but never enough. "Guards! Capture this sinner!" ordered by the angry Lich King. Two black knights appeared riding horses. "Damn! These are death knights! They're too quick for me!" shouted Jessica in a panic.

Death Knights, a special undead with undying loyalty to their masters. Their strength cannot be compared with other undead and their ability to curse and reanimate the fallen is what makes them dangerous. Liang Ri jumps in the fight to confront these knights. "Kill the Spiritual King! I will handle this!" shouted Liang Ri. Jessica thanked for her support.

"Just you and me now." said Jessica as she stands in front of the Lich King. The Lich King is angry that he releases the tormented souls upon Jessica. She fought back while enduring the soul crushing pain she receives. She is using Heal to attack the Lich King and used health potions to heal her injuries. The boss had enough and tries to slash her with a death scythe. "Rock Burst!" she shouted and the Rocks are fired to parry the swing.

Liang Ri is pretty much quick in her feet. Her swordmanship allowed her to suppress the death knights one by one. The knights charges together at the same time. Little did they know, Liang Ri has the ability to jump very high, hence avoiding being skewered and trampled. A longsword is now shining with blue light. "First Form: Starfire!" shouted by Liang Ri as she performed a diving slash attack, resembling a meteor. The flurry of slashes diced the death knights into pieces.

The Lich King fell down on the ground after receiving so much damage. Jessica almost ran out of mana points. She is clearly exhausted from enduring psyche attacks from the tormented souls and the constant need of dodging the death scythe. "How this is possible?! I am the King of Undead! I never bow down! I never lost! And I lost to a mere Mortal?!" screamed the Lich King with disbelief and despair.

At the final moment, Jessica casted the Heal spell to the Lich King. The Holy spell burned the Lord of the Undead with its radiant light. All undead in the room dropped down like rocks. Liang Ri looks at Jessica and sees the image of a Saintess, bringing new light to the future in this dark realm. "I am a Mage, not a Priest... hehe..." said Jessica while nervously chuckled.
