Reincarnated??(2)

I opened my eyes. My eyelids feeling very weak and heavy. I tried moving my body, but that too felt heavy.

'Eurgh….What the heck was I was doing? Running a marathon? Boxing…?'

I closed my heavy eyes, trying to recall what happened.

'Lets see...I woke up and…..OH RIGHT!' A series of images popped into my head. The startling revelation of being hatched, the meeting of two new strangers who claimed they were my parents, and the massive surge of power that erupted from my body as I cried in utter shock.

' After that, I must have passed out from exhaustion or something' I thought.

I moved my body a little, feeling something soft and damp under me. I looked down and noticed I was laying in a soft patch of green grass, like some nest. It was pretty comfortable and warm, like a soft pillow.

' Yep not weird at all, not even the fact that I kinda like it too' This was all so surreal, I turned my head taking in the room before me. The room was pretty large with a dusty blue carpet at the center of the room. A Large wooden table stood above the carpet covered in loads of books and broken daggers. There were only two windows in the room, one behind me and the other across the room laced with dark purple curtains that looked worse for wear.

' Hmm, so this place will be my new home? Kinda...dusty, like barely anyone's been home to keep it clean'

There was no sign of my "Mother or Father" either. This house definitely didnt scream "Home sweet home" but, the chirping birds, the muffled sounds of trees blowing in the wind, and the gentle sunlight filtering through the torn curtains, gave this place a unique charm.

I let my head flop down on the soft grass, trying to collect my wayward thoughts. Since I was in an egg, my mind was preoccupied, now my mind was clear with the peace and quiet.

Slowly, faint images of my old life started to appear. Cars, skyscrapers, even my old apartment complex. Yea Japan was where I initially lived, however when I tried to remember more, like whether I died or not, a sharp pain would shoot through my head like a knife. I couldn't remember what happened or how my soul got here, but considering I remember bits of my initial birthplace...Maybe my memories will come back over time? or maybe when I get older?.

'Ok from the top!'

'Firstly, this is not Japan, but the Moon Forest based on what Mrs gode-er my mother said. Maybe this is somewhere else on earth and it's just not discovered? But I came out of an egg though so I might just be some lizard or something since they are born out of eggs'

As I was thinking of many possibilities of what I was, I heard a loud squeak. My sleepy eyes turning to the source of the sound. It was a mouse.

'Ooh how cute, here little mousey...erk!'

Is what I initially thought until that thing turned around and I saw two long protruding canines from its mouth, Red eyes that glowed sinisterly, and a spiked black tail that looked deadly.

...HOLD UP...

I jerked my body upwards trying to create distance from the mouse that looked waaaay larger than initially. It bared its fangs at me before scurrying in a small hole in the wall in the corner of the room.

' erm, I don't remember rats having large teeth like that...haha' I laughed to myself nervously, a small pang of anxiety coursing through me as if forboding a revelation.

' ok, let's just look outside, maybe scenery could do me some good' I thought. I turned my head around and looked outside the window behind me. From my position, I could only see the sky and the massively tall trees that looked like they were touching the clouds.

' those are some tall trees' I thought. My eyes widened when I noticed something unusual. ' Arent trees supposed to have green leaves and brown bark? Why are the trees blue?' The massively tall and thick trees were a mysterious bluish color some leaning more towards a violet hue.

To make matters even weirder, I saw birds flying, except what should be birds were scaley beasts with bird beaks and feathers, their cries sounding like muffled moans.

' Why are all the animals like this, it's like some fantasy world huh...haha...haha' The brooding sense of anxiety intensified, My stomach was practically aching.

'Ok let's just calm down and wait for mother to return and-'

*GRRRRROOOOWL*

"....."

My stomach was grumbling quite loudly, come to think of it, I hadn't eaten at all since I….Hatched. I was beginning to panic as mother and father were not here, could they have abandoned me like how turtles leave their children before they hatch? Am I a turtle!!!??

As I was having a crisis, I heard voices outside.

" Is everything ready?"

' Hm? must be my new parents?' I zoned in on the voices outside.

'Hey! my hearing is super duper good huh! 'It was so good in fact, I could still hear the squeaking of that devil mouse inside the walls.

" Are you sure you want to leave now, our child has just been born you know?" the man said well my father said it...yeah a little hard coming to terms with this.

" of course, Yuiji is of my blood therefore she will start acquiring knowledge at a rapid rate, what better way to ease that than magic grimoires"

'Ahahah, d-d-did she just say grimoires?magic?' the anxious feeling in my stomach felt like it exploded and I was close to doubling over in pain.

" I know but-" my father started but was promptly cut off by my mom " Erudian, You know that this won't take more than a second for me to make it to the capital with transportation magic"

" I know I know I'm just worried that, you know...you'll be seen..." his voice trailed off and then went a little quiet.

There was a short silence, but it was broken by Mother's cold voice that seemed to drip with malice "Oh, are you ashamed of what I am? Me a monster?"

'Uh oh papas in trouble now'

" WHAT? NO! I-I'm just worried about you, especially since your magic is weak at the moment" He cried, his voice sounded hurt at the accusation also etched with a bit of anxiousness as well.

" My species is barely known about by the common people in the nearby villages, let alone the nobles of the capital. Besides I'm only transporting in a nearby alleyway in the Goldenstein capital, clean and simple" My mother said, her voice slightly degrees warmer but still firm.

It seemed like the conversation ended because I could no longer hear their voices. Even if they continued, I don't think I would be in the right state of mind to listen to them anyway, my body and mind felt like it crashed and was having trouble rebooting.

' ooooOOOOOOOH MAAAAN!?!? This is all too much to take in ya know, aha. Goldenstein Capital? Moon forests, Nobles, villages? This really is a fantasy-like world ahahah.' I banged my head on the soft grass to calm myself.

' why do these names sound so familiar though?..... ACK COME ON THIIIIINK'

I squeezed my eyes shut tightly hoping it could be of some help. As I searched through my memories, a sudden image popped into my head, one where I was happily reading a book on my bed. The name of the book was etched in red.

*gasp*

'The last standing!' I thought. The prime revelation of that name sent shockwaves of relief and horror at the same time, truly a strange experience.

No wonder this felt all so surreal, that's because this place wasn't on earth or any of Japan for that matter. This was indeed a fantasy world. I was reborn in the very novel "The Last Standing"
