Chapter 1: A What??

Opening the door, Gale slowly made his way into a small apartment and his way to the bathroom. It was already 1 Am, and he had just finished his second job as a closer at a fast food place.

After a quick shower, Gale headed to his room, ready for another short night of sleep. It didn't matter now that he was used to it.

Yet just as he was about to fall into that blissful sleep that his body yearned for, A voice suddenly popped out.

[Life Simulator Awakening!]

"What?" Gale said tiredly, opening his eyes.

Suddenly an intense light flashed in front of him, completely awakening him.

[You have Received the Newbie Package]

[ Would you like to open it?]

"Has the five years of four-hour sleep finally caught up to me? Am I finally going crazy?" Gale murmured, pinching himself.

Feeling the pain on his skin, he quickly stood up and went to wash his face with some cold water.

As a god-level novel reader during high school, Gale knew all about systems, especially simulator systems.

The life simulator system would allow him to simulate his life as if he didn't have it.

Looking at the fluorescent blue screen, a lone tear fell out of Gale's eye.

This was a dream that any novel reader would have, to gain their own system.

"Open the newbie package." Gael quickly said, calming down his emotions, A skill he learned after entering the real world.

[Ding! You can now have daily one-day simulations!]

[Ding! You have received 1 Lifetime Simulation pass!]

Looking at the passes, Gale felt euphoric for a moment. This was his ticket to reaching the top of the world.

"Since it's my first time using a simulation, it's only natural I see what would have happened if I never got the Life simulator system." Gale said, looking at the Lifetime Simulation passes.

They could stimulate your whole life until the moment you died. The simulation would be in a world where he didn't have a simulator.

"Use the Lifetime Simulation pass."

[Year 1 - Nothing Changes, You still work the two jobs to help pay for your mother's medical bills and your little sister's school fees and barely get any sleep.]

Looking at the results of the upcoming year, Gale felt a little powerless. He had already been living in this zombie-like lifestyle for five years seeing it still go on for another year made him feel hopeless.

"Makes sense, how long will it go on for, though? I really hope something can change."

[Year 2 - Your body is finally catching up with you, after seven years of a bad diet and a lousy sleep schedule, you gained over 40 pounds in one year and now have breathing problems as well as heart problems. But you don't let your health stop you and continue working yourself to death.]

"Damn, not the type of change I was talking about, but still 40 pounds in one year?? As well as heart problems? I'm pretty sure eating healthier can stop the heart problem, as for the weight, it's bound to happen. My physical activity is pretty limited after all" Gale said, raising an eyebrow at that part.

[Year 3- You feel your health getting worse and worse, but you still don't stop working. Your mental health has also fallen, and you've started showing signs of depression]

"So nothing would change for the next three years for me, then again, my thoughts in this simulation was to focus on what would happen to me."

As for the last part about him becoming depressed Gale could see it happening, after all, his body hadn't gotten any real rest in the last eight years in the simulation.

[Year 4- While working at your retail job you get a call that your mother passed away due to a mistake by a nurse, and when you get there all you could see was her dead tired body. The hospital compensated you with $63,000]

"It's all a simulation Gale, it hasn't happened yet you can still change it." Gale said as he read the words. All because of a mistake his mother ended up dead, this world really was unfair.

[Year 5- After dealing with your mother's funeral, you decide it is finally time to move away from the hustle of Los Angeles and move to a city in South Dakota to settle down and have an easier life with your sister.]

[Without the pressure of having to pay your mother's hospital bills and the high rent and everything else in L.A you were confident that you didn't have to work hard for a while and focused on your physical health and mental health.]

"I've always wanted to move from L.A, it's only a good place if you have some money to spend or have some sort of influence." Gale lightly said.

The only reason he was here was because of his mother's health condition and that he didn't have the money to move her to a better hospital for now.

"Though I never thought I would move to the midwest, I always thought I would move to Idaho or something."

[Year 6- You got an easy job as a librarian and because of a co-worker you got interested in day trading as he told you all the money you can make from it. You start studying day trading as well as reading all sorts of books on it and even start using a stock simulator to play with some fake money to see how well you do. It turns out you actually have a talent for it and soon start day trading with real money]

Gale's eyes immediately widened: "It turns out I have a talent for day trading? An actual talent that's related to money?"

The reason for such a strong reaction was because before he turned 18 Gale was actually interested in day trading, crypto, investing, and all that money-making stuff.

But because of his father passing away and his baby sister being born and some articles that came out about how hard it was for a day trader to make any real money, he gave up the idea and just got a job to support his family.

And just when things got well again and he was about to dip his toes into day trading His mother got hospitalized in a driving incident and went into a coma.

[Year 7-You finally take off and enter the middle class as you made over $23,000 in just two months after investing $6000. You see a huge opportunity that can take you straight into high-class society. You put 80% of your wealth into the trade, plus a couple of loans from the bank all on this trade. All of which add up to $432,900 ]

"Holy shit that's bold? Am I thinking Straight? 80% of everything plus loans?" Seeing that he took more than half his wealth away for some investment Gale couldn't help but quietly curse his future self.

After all that was 80% of his wealth plus loans, did he forget he was taking care of someone??

[Year 8- Your gamble paid off and you made $2.3 mill after paying off everything. You took your little sister and went on tour around the world on a luxury cruise with her during summer to celebrate.]

"I became a millionaire? Me?" Seeing that sentence Gale couldn't help but freeze up a little. He was already doubting his future self for this gamble, but the fact that it succeeded and made him a millionaire was a whole other deal.

[Year 9- You were driving and a black car crashed into you. You died]

Gale sat there as a certain experience passed through him.

"I became a millionaire in just two years? If my father didn't die and mother didn't get into an accident I would have tried day trading right?" Gale asked himself, staring off into the distance.

At the same time, a video he saw resurfaced in his mind of a man who called himself the top g and his legendary lifestyle.

Luxury cars, traveling around the world, and just enjoying the most in life.

"Let's focus on the present." Gale said, putting aside his complicated feelings. After all three years in the real world outside of high school, he realized one thing very early.

And that was nothing fair.

Taking out a piece of paper Gale quickly wrote the important things from the simulation.

"My most pressing issue right now is to move my mother to a better hospital as soon as possible."

Even though it showed that his mother died in four years, the fact that it was made by mistake shows the lack of care the staff had towards his mother. If she was a VIP patient at a private hospital the chances of that happening would be close to none.

"Next is my day-trading talent. If I can combine that with the weak simulation, I should be able to quickly earn enough to move my mother to a better hospital as well as move to a better place."

This was one of the biggest gains in the simulation, besides finding out about his mother's debt, knowing he was actually talented in something like day trading brought a smile onto Gale's face and helped him look forward to a better future.

"Now for the last thing, in two years I gained 40 pounds and started having heart problems that can be easily eliminated. A better diet and some exercise can help with that. Plus now with the simulation, I should quit my fast food job, and change my hours for my retail job to around 25 hours a week to start learning more on day trading.
