"If I may, I would also like to suggest something."

"Come on, kid, don't us hanging just say it."

"I think it would be best to do a two frontal attack, one team confiscates the gloves at Cabbage Corp and another goes to the Sato mansion and takes Hiroshi in."

"Hold up kid, I'm still going on a whim for you, investigating him, now you want me to take him in before I have evidence, not happening if it turns out that he isn't the real culprit the benders the backlash would be huge. I can't even imagine the kind of support the Equalists will get if this comes true."

"Let me tell you a story."

"I don't have time for stories!"

"Oh, you are going to like this one!"

"Just listen to him Lin, he might be young but his wisdom sometimes surpasses mine."

"I don't doubt that, but then again the standards aren't that high. Ok kid, You have 2 minutes to say your piece then I'm leaving."

"This is all I need. When I was young I heard a story about a great healer. One day a person came to him with a swollen hand, the doctor asked what happened, the patient said that he was bitten by a venomous snake. The doctor looked at his hand and saw that it wasn't a venom that he was familiar with and didn't know how to cure it, but the doctor said he would cure him. In the end, the healer did all he could to he could not cure his arm, he didn't succeed and the poison spread to his heart and the man died in the doctor's arm."

"It's an interesting story, but what does this have to do with our current situation."

"You could say it's the same, and at the same time different. For starters, the doctor was too prideful and didn't want to admit that he was clueless and couldn't help the person, the more he tried the more was the pride replace with fear, he was afraid to lose his reputation as a doctor, he could get rid of the infected part at the start when he noticed he couldn't cure it but he was stubborn and persisted against his better judgment, as a result, the man died. The moral of the story is "sacrifice an arm to save the body"."

"So you are telling me that I'm the doctor in this case."

"No, I'm saying you are worst, the doctor didn't have anybody to tell him what he was doing was wrong, the only thing he had were his pride and fear guiding him. You have us, people you trust, people that know the situation better than you do, we are giving you the best advice we can, and yet you stubbornly discharged all our words like from a nobody's."

"I don't know you kid!"

"You might not know me, but you know Tenzin. Is he a person that trusts just anyone? Would he come to you with this if he didn't believe me? I'm with the avatar here, do you think that she would follow me if she didn't know that I'm a good person?"

"What is that you are asking me, kid?! To just blindly trust you!?"

"ALL I'M ASKING I TO TAKE A LEAP OF FAITH! I know deep down you agree with me but you are afraid to do it because is too much of a risk, you are stuck to the ground like a rock, it's only natural you are an earth bender, you don't like things you aren't familiar with. I know you don't trust me, but trust the people behind me, TRUST THE AVATAR, TRUST TENZIN!"

"..."

There was a long silence I already said my piece, Korra and Tenzin had nothing more to say, to be honest even if they had I don't it would have made much of a difference. I take a good look at Lin, I could see the wheels turning inside her head, I could see it through her eyes how the light of the gears hitting each other, not knowing which way to spin, I could see that she was conflicted I could see that her emotions were conflicting with her reasoning, I could see the battle becoming more and more fierce. What to chose, will she follow her heart and her brain? Would she trust us, would she let us in, would she open up to our ideas or will she remain the unmovable mountain that she was at this moment, or will that mountain break and from it would rise something new, something better?

"Ok, I'm in! Now tell me the way you think it would be best to approach this?"

"What makes you think I have a way?"

"Please... You think you are the only one that can read people! I've been a cop more than you have been alive now tell me what you have in mind."

"HAHAHA, I never thought you would ask!"

I told her what plan I had in mind and she liked it.

"Kid why didn't you start with this from the beginning! I would have stayed yes from the start!"

"I need to be sure that you are 100% on board with this if anything unpredictable happens I need to be sure you wouldn't hesitate and take drastic measures. I'm sorry if I upset you."

"Upset me?! HAHAHA, quite the contrary, I like you more and more, to be able to come with such a method and to be able to convince me to do something against my better judgment. I can see why Tenzin said that you are smarter than him and have more balls, he was never able to make me do anything."

Saying that she leaped off the roof and into the night.

"Here she goes again."

I look at Tenzin and I laugh at his annoyed face, this was a stressful night and I needed some rest if I wanted to be at my best tomorrow.
