Chapter 5: Five Slaps

Xuruyun couldn't believe her eyes; Ye Feng had returned alive! Five years in prison hadn't broken him, and her hired thugs had failed to eliminate him? How could his luck be so resilient?

"Not only am I alive," Ye Feng confidently stepped into the hall, "but I'm doing very well."

"Did you kill Uncle Bao and the others?" Ye Ze asked, his voice trembling.

"You mean the people who came to pick me up from prison?" Ye Feng replied calmly, "Don't worry, they left this world peacefully."

With a swift strike to the throat, they didn't even have time to feel the pain.

"You—!" Ye Ze gritted his teeth in anger. Although Bao and his men were merely hired thugs, they had helped Ye Ze gain respect in school. Hence, he affectionately referred to them as Uncle Bao.

Xuruyun quickly composed herself, raised her eyebrows, and scolded, "What are you back for? You disgrace of the family! You're no longer a part of the Ye family. We don't have a son like you. Leave if you have any dignity left!"

With her head held high, Xuruyun looked down on Ye Feng with disdain. Even if he had been lucky so far, what could he do now without the family's protection? He was now at everyone's mercy.

"Get out! I don't need a jailbird like you as a brother. It's embarrassing!" Ye Ze added, echoing his mother's sentiment.

Unfazed by their mockery, Ye Feng declared, "I have unfinished business here," as he continued to move forward.

"What do you want?" Xuruyun asked, her voice trembling with fear.

"Master, please leave. Stop causing trouble," the butler advised.

"Yes, you've been in jail once. Do you want to go back?" a maid added.

The servants rushed forward to restrain Ye Feng and spare their master any more distress.

"Step aside!" Ye Feng roared, and the crowd dispersed immediately.

With every step, Ye Feng seemed like a sharp blade, making others hesitant to approach.

"What are you trying to do?" Ye Ze stood in front of his mother, pointing at Ye Feng, "You're no longer a Ye. This is not your place to act recklessly!"

With a swift move, Ye Feng grabbed Ye Ze by the throat, "In my presence, you have no right to speak."

Swish!

Ye Feng effortlessly tossed Ye Ze aside like a ragdoll.

"Ze!" Xuruyun cried out in shock and anger, "You dare hit my son?"

"I not only dare to hit him," Ye Feng's hand moved swiftly, "I dare to hit you too!"

Smack!

With a single slap, Xuruyun was knocked to the ground.

"This slap is for your poor parenting and your disrespect for family hierarchy."

The crisp sound of the slap stunned everyone present.

Who would have thought that as soon as Ye Feng returned from prison, he would dare to slap his stepmother? This was beyond anyone's expectations!

However, Ye Feng didn't return just for a family reunion.

He believed in avenging wrongs; it was as clear as day. Ye Feng wasn't going to wait for the next lifetime; he was ready for retribution now.

"You… How dare you hit me!?" Xuruyun was left dumbfounded, holding her cheek with an incredulous look on her face.

Slap!

Her response was met with a second forceful and swift slap, knocking her to the ground again.

"This slap is for causing discord and chaos in my Ye family!"

Xu Ruyun felt her head buzzing.

"You little beast, you–"

Slap!!!

Another loud slap resounded.

"This slap is for your treacherous heart that caused me five years of imprisonment!"

Xu Ruyun was once again knocked to the ground, overwhelmed by Ye Feng's imposing presence and unable to speak.

Slap!!!

"This slap…"

Ye Feng thought of Jin Luyi and all the victims of the car accident years ago.

"This slap is for all the victims of that fatal car accident, where one died and seven were injured!"

Blood trickled from the corner of Xu Ruyun's mouth.

Slap!!!

"This slap is for you to remember: I, Ye Feng, am back!"

Xu Ruyun's cheek was swollen high.

Being repeatedly slapped by her stepson in front of everyone was an immense humiliation for Xu Ruyun, a lady of a wealthy family.

Her anger surged, shaking her entire body and rendering her speechless.

"You made me spend five years in prison, now I'll return the favor with these five slaps!"

"But don't think this is the end… it's only the beginning!"

"What else can you do!?" Xu Ruyun glared at Ye Feng and coldly responded, "If you dare, just kill me!"

Being humiliated by her stepson, she'd rather die.

"Kill you? Ha…" Ye Feng sneered disdainfully, "Now, killing you would be as easy as slaughtering a pig or a dog!"

Killing her would be letting her off too lightly.

"I will personally take back everything that belongs to me! Everything of the Ye family!"

"I will make you suffer, a hundredfold, for all the hardships I've endured!"

"Just wait and see!"

Five years ago, Ye Feng wanted to give up everything, but Xu Ruyun insisted on exterminating him.

In that case, Ye Feng would see it through, reclaim everything from her, and repay her a hundredfold!

After declaring everything, Ye Feng turned and left.

Leaving behind a group of servants, all looking at each other, afraid to even breathe.

"Master… seems to have changed…"

"That imposing aura earlier was terrifying…"

"Madam… Young Master! Are you alright?"

Mother and son were assisted by the servants.

"Mom… he hit me…" Ye Ze felt sore all over, tears in his eyes. "I've grown up… and no one dared to hit me!"

Xu Ruyun covered her burning cheeks, a mix of shock and rage.

"Get out! All of you, get out!"

"If any of today's events are leaked, I'll cut out your tongues!"

Xu Ruyun yelled, driving the servants away.

Then, Xu Ruyun took out her phone, dialed a number, and tearfully cried out.

"Big brother! That little beast Ye Feng is back! He hit me… you must avenge me!"

"It's that Ye Feng! He's still alive! Find some ruthless people to kill him for me!"

Xu Ruyun gritted her teeth as she spoke into the phone.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the phone,

A middle-aged man was lying on a luxurious and spacious bed, surrounded by two young and beautiful women.

This man was Xu Ruhai, Xu Ruyun's elder brother.

The Xu family, one of the top ten wealthy families in Yanjing, had Xu Ruhai as one of its heirs and was known to have connections far and wide.

After hearing his sister's tearful plea, Xu Ruhai's face darkened, causing the two women beside him to tactfully withdraw.

"That little beast is still alive? He truly has a charmed life!"

"Sister, stop crying. Leave it to me! I'll immediately send someone to capture that brat and slowly torture him to death!"
