"I'm not impressed." He said and Kalina guessed the laughter in his words. "Still." She returned, trying to match his amusement and completely failing. That man had a knack for annoying her, that was for sure. ¿Why? Kalina didn't know for sure. She felt a little stupid about the discovery, but there was something else. Something attracted her to him, that was undeniable.
Unstoppable
Kalina took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She took care of a fresh batch of arrows that filled the sky with ominous bolts. She wielded her power and instantly all the arrows exploded.
Kal wiped away a few drops of sweat before reaching for her crossbow. She couldn't use her dark power too much without losing control over it. It was time to stop. On the other hand, she believed she had already proven a point.
The ambush had been set in an ideal location for a surprise assault. They were in a clearing, surrounded by rock and xeromorphic scrub. The enemy had at least a hundred archers judging by the number of arrows in flight. She had to take care of them.
