Is She Your Girlfriend?

Amber smiled at his response. "Really though, you never talk about your friends. You do have some, don't you? Somebody as cool as you probably has a ton!" 

"We can't all be as popular as you, Amber," Nathan pointed out. "I do have one though and that's enough for me. You know I'm always busy with my writing anyway; I don't really have time to hang out with a lot of people." 

"I guess that's true. So what should we play next?" 

"How about Monopoly? I can probably beat you at that one but it might take a while."

Her eyes glinted with challenge. "I'd love to see you try considering how badly you lost at Jenga."

"Hey now, that was because you caught me off-guard!" Nathan protested. 

"Don't make excuses, Nate. You lost fair and square."

There was no point arguing with her. And he did end up winning at Monopoly even though it took an hour and half for the game to end. They were fairly evenly matched all things considering.
