Chapter seventy nine
Marcus sat down at the dinner table, his face a mask of frustration and fatigue. Dana and Alina watched him closely, sensing the weight of his thoughts. As they ate, Marcus finally broke the silence.
"We had a lead on Evan's whereabouts this evening," he began, his voice tinged with disappointment. "But it turned out to be false. Evan and Kendra are still missing." He tells Dana
Dana's eyes narrowed, her fork clattering against her plate. "How could that be? Who would give you false information?" she asked.
Marcus shrugged, clearly frustrated. "I don't know, but we have to keep looking. Tomorrow, Alina and I will check out the school. Maybe someone there knows something."
Alina nodded, feeling a mix of fear and determination. "I just want this to end. I want to recover as my memory," she said, her voice soft but resolute.
