I'm In Love With A Spirit

Cursing the dark, I decided to step out and find someone who could tell me what was going on. To my utter surprise, I realized I was in a hospital. ----------- “Don’t touch me, you freak. Nothing is happening to me. I am fine, I feel fine, and I am going to my room to rest,” I yelled and I started to reach out for the door-knob but I just couldn’t. I tried again, but my hand just passed through it. How? “What is happening to me?” I shouted, instantly freaking out. I tried catching it again but I could not touch it. I pushed the door but instead of pushing it, I passed through it and fell on the floor. He was immediately beside me, trying to help. Scared to death, I pushed him away and started to crawl backwards, hoping to get away from the scary man and also hoping to find something to rest my back on, but instead of finding something, I crossed the bars of a bed and was now almost in a drawer…I stood up shrieking and started to run everywhere in a haphazard manner when suddenly my eyes fell on a still figure on a hospital bed. Lying there was a lump of a woman. She was in the worst state possible, bruised everywhere and had a huge bandage on her head. Tubes stuck out from every orifice. She was breathing off a life support system… She was barely alive. She was me. ----------- A wonderful story of how the spirits of a guy and a girl met in hospital during an out-of-body experience.

Stuck Between The Worlds

Tired and bored of nothing to do, I started playing around. To start with, I entered or at least pretended to enter various people and climbed up and down the stairs with them - it was fun!

"Hey, I have a question," I asked Armaan who was extremely fascinated with all my playing.

"Yes?"

"What is this place?"

"You mean the hospital?"

"I know what this building is; I meant the place – the limbo – we are in. We are definitely not in the human world, as we can't touch them," I paused to run my hand through a wall, "And they can't see us either. So, what is this place?"

Armaan thought about it. "Honestly, I don't know either. But from a little tidbit I remember from my living days, it looks like we are in the fourth dimension."

"Fourth dimension of what?" I asked as I hopped in a nurse and pretended to walk with her. It was fun.

"Of the world."

Sensing I didn't understand, he elaborated.

"You see, it is believed that there are various dimensions that exist in this world. Humans, who are living and moving are in two dimensions, they can touch and feel in third dimension. However, we as ghosts, who can't live with them, are in fourth dimension, which exists in this world but is in whole other plane..." His enthusiasm on this nerd-talk went over my head.

"So, you are saying that in a way we are stuck between worlds because I don't see any actual dead people ghosts..."

He considered my point for a moment and spoke, "Yes, you can say so and that place is fourth dimension."

"Or so you name it." I replied casually and he smiled.

"Ok so next one - how come I can't touch anything but still I can walk on the floor or climb the stairs?" I asked hopping on the stairs.

"Interesting question! Well, I don't have a PhD in the subject but as far as I understand it's the way your mind works; it is your belief that makes you walk on floor or climb stairs." he replied in a serious tone.

He would have made a nice professor.

"Really, so if I don't climb stairs and walk ahead what will happen?" I asked very curiously and he replied with the crankiest smile;

"Try…."

"Ok..." and instead of raising my foot I moved it forward hoping the stair will stop it, but instead I went right through it, falling two floors down!

Seriously, I had to try this on the highest stair, damn.
