Trauma

As Henrik and I headed back to our dorm, we were greeted by Matt. He smiled at me and thanked me.

"Anna, I would like to talk to Henrik first. Do you mind waiting for a while?" I agreed to Matt's request and chose to wait at a bench located in the lobby. As I sneak peeked their conversation, I saw Matt putting his hand on Henrik's shoulder and they seem to be having quite a serious conversation. Hmm... what could it be I wondered. Suddenly, my phone rang and it was from my best friend.

"Anna! It's been a long time, how are you? Are you doing well with your training? Lukas is getting better now. He can come and meet you in a few days. Is that okay? He is still a bit unstable but he should recover soon. You better tell me what happen because the injuries were not normal. It seem as if he was tortured. Anyways, I am glad you told me about your situation. Goodluck on your training and I hope you succeed." Then I replied, " I am grateful you are my friend. A friend that I can rely on.

Leah, my best friend, is a doctor but only works part time in a clinic.

As I ended the phone call, Henrik and Matt came. I told Matt about Lukas' situation and he agreed to see him a few days later.

As Henrik and I went in the elevator, Henrik suddenly clenched his hand into a fist. I asked what happened and he answered, "My father is coming tomorrow. I am not ready to face him yet."

I saw he tried his best not to cry, I placed my hand onto his tight fist and said, "Did anything happen between you and your dad?"

"My father abused me when I was young, he told me he wished I was dead. When he left my mom and I, my mom was weak and he didn't care. He married another woman. Probably he heard about the news and called Matt."

While I listened to him, I didn't know I was actually crying. I felt my teardrop rolling down on my cheek and I wiped it away.

Suddenly the elevator stopped, I was surprised for a few second and pressed the help button. After that, it's just us.

Henrik suddenly grabbed on to me and he looked pale.

"Are you scared right now? Help is coming." I comforted Henrik as he clutched his chest and I can hear his breathing became rapid and felt cold sweat on his hand.

"Henrik, everything is okay. I am here. Don't be scared." I comforted him.

Henrik got to the ground and started crying, "Father, I'm sorry! It's my fault. Please don't hit me, please don't hit me!" Henrik's whole body was shaking. I kneeled beside him and said, "Henrik, you're with me now. I'm Anna. Don't be scared. You are safe. I am here for you." His breathing slowed down a bit, as I kneeled beside him giving him a hug... He suddenly clutched my arm so tight that I can't barely move. I rubbed his back and patted him. He finally cried.

"Let your emotion out, Henrik, it's okay to cry. It's okay to be scared. I am here for you." As I said in a comforting tone.

As Henrik and I waited for help, I hummed a lullaby out of the blue because my father hummed it to me whenever I was scared of something. As I watched Henrik calming down himself, he gently let go of me and said, "I'm sorry. Sorry I made you worry. I'm okay now."

"Do you want me to come along when you meet your father? Two heads are better than one." I asked.

"Sure." He smiled.

I felt a sense of relief that he released all of his emotions out. Finally, he can be a human with emotions.. not a rock.
